Not for me!!

I was eagerly waiting to watch this series because of Cho seung-woo. He is a brilliant actor and really loved his series Stranger and Stranger 2 on Netflix. But this show seems to be a major disappointment for me. Not commenting on his acting, it's top notch. But the storyline is horrendous, to say the least. It tries to show a cheating wife, an adulteress in a good light. Both she and her husband are horrible but this series tries to justify the wife's act while showing husband as the only culprit. Such hypocrisy is beyond me. Giving up on this series just after 2 episodes because of how they are trying to portray 1 culprit as the villain while the other as a sympathetic, good character.

For some reason, Im soo hyang's acting is very 'forced'.

The story is pretty common. Kdrama seems to like to capitalise on Grim reapers for stories.
With the female lead already falling in love with the male lead in the first episode, feels like there's nothing to look forward to.
For some reason, Im soo hyang's acting is very 'forced'. Trying to hard to be the female character.
I hope she can relax abit more. I think it could be the way she enunciated her words. Most actors/actresses regurgitate their given dialogue, good ones, puts their emotions into their dialogue.

PERFECT DRAMA!

this drama is really good! I really enjoyed it, I even watched it many times, plus good CGI, each episode has its own charm...Jujingyi's acting is also getting better? I like him playing Han Lingsha and Chenzheyuan has good acting and can bring the drama with a cute primitive child impression? It's really adorable, I'm carried away by the chemistry. In this drama I haven't seen any other dramas anymore❤️❤️❤️ From SF4 there are lots of lessons that we can take in life as our preparation too...sadness, happiness, hilarity are also there in this drama, it's very complete, I really like it!!!

It was uncomfortable

ENG

I'm at a loss for words. I'm after one episode and I know I won't be able to watch more.

This BL series is uncomfortable, the main character brings me to the highest level of embarrassment and his obsession really scares me and makes me uncomfortable. Rarely do so many negative emotions accompany me when I watch BL, but here there are too many.

I don't even want to give this a chance and watch another episode, it's definitely the worst BL I've ever had the chance to see.

PL

When The Child Actors Outshine the Rest

This drama started strong. I was into it, that child actress and the child actor were awesome!! Unfortunately, they had to grow up and get replaced, which ruined the drama. ?

I can't stand Crystal Yuan, which is too bad because there are a lot of Chinese actresses which are much worse. She is, and please, please pardon me for saying this, she is the most ordinary looking leading role actress ever, so when she is cast to play a woman of notable beauty, I tend to have a hard time believing in her character. It's so mean to say, but it is my personal opinion on the matter. She may have a wonderful personality in real life, which is maybe why she keeps getting cast in leading roles? I don't know, but nothing about her on screen presence makes her notable to me. I've dropped every drama she is in because I can't really bring myself to like any of her characters.

Woah...

I'm here mostly for the ML after binge watching the entire My lethal man drama. I have seen his other dramas but i can't believe how GOOD he is at acting like the villain. Not only is he good looking and tall. He is also a great actor and can't wait to see more of his dramas. Too bad each episode are only 10 minutes. Hope his character change for good because i don't approve of any kind of violence doesn't matter if it's physical or mental!!!
The FL is pretty good too, but i don't really like the character. If you noticed something is off about your lover , ask for help! Don't EVER let anyone treat you like you're less than you are. Don't ignore those red flags!

I watched the trailer on Netflix and anticipated this drama. However, after watching the whole of episode 1, I must confess that I am unable to continue with it.

What I didn't like:
- The acting was raw/ unpolished. It was quite painful to watch the actors and actresses trying hard to act but not quite succeeding.
- The plot was full of loopholes and very strange. e.g.: How is it possible for her to just get into a car and have the actual owner and driver drive her to her destination? It should simply be: Miss, you have made a mistake. Please leave or I will call the police. Next, how is it possible for a doctor to be so negligent as to leave a patient in the consultation room with all the private documents for her to look at? The doctor and the patient could probably be sued. Moving on, why would the secretary let himself be tied up and manipulated by two girls? Also, the unwell FL looked too healthy to be so very ill.

Perhaps, I have been 'pampered' by excellent acting while watching other dramas such as (insert drama name on your own) and so, I could not sit through this drama.

Good show but meanders a lot

Update during the final episode.

As predicted, they ruined the show at the end. They gave themselves a little over 40 minutes to wrap up Nak-su/Mu-duk/Jin bu-yeon story thread. Nobody received any consequences of their actions including Lady Jin and her husband. How did Jin Mu escape and went missing when he was literally surrounded by the entire assembly of sorcerers? The prince just casually runs into Jin Mu in the “secret” room everyone knew about? Worst yet, the prince basically listens to Jin Mu and gets manipulated? Jin Mu had a bell that he can use to control Nak-Su? Now that Nak-Su resurfaces, everyone forgot what Jin -Mu did? What?

I haven’t see many Hong sisters’ work but I guess this is their MO and they couldn’t help themselves.

Update after Ep. 17.

I’m lowering this show to 7.

I’m a little shocked after the latest episode where the king wanted to kill a person just to see the ice stone’s power. What’s more shocking is that people actually went along with it. This is so nuts.

Basically, this episode is the culmination of how this show meandered the entire time. They knew who the bad guys were but they were busy doing stupid stuff to justify 20 episodes. Now, here we are…

Review after 15 episodes.

I’ve watched 15 episodes so far. I’m enjoying it quite a lot so far.

A few points.

1. It’s not as action packed as I thought it would be. Mostly just drama. Lots of talking but done fairly well.
2. It meanders quite a bit. We find out who the bad guys are fairly early on along with the main characters. But they don’t do a whole lot with it for a long time. They do mention it and do some digging around here and there. But the good guys spend a lot of time doing trivial stuff in between. I guess they need enough filler for 20 episodes.
3. Main character Jang Uk is pretty unlikeable. He had a chip on his shoulder for not having the power first. Then when he actually gets it, he wastes his time refusing to train. He knows that a lot depends on him getting strong including Nak-su getting her power back. It’s frustrating watching him wasting his time. But of course, him being the main character, he continues to get strong without putting a lot of effort. He’s also petty and cocky. Hard to like this guy.
4. Mu deuk is great. Love the character herself, her story and acting were all great. Jung So Min is great as usual.
5. Four heirs to the four great families were advertised to be the elites of the elites. But they mostly turned out to be major duds. Incompetent and goofy except Yul. Huge let down.
6. This show has no shortage of great supporting characters. Maid servant Kim, Master Lee, Songrim’s leader, and the prince. So much fun watching them. Love the prince!
7. Jin Mu, the main bad guy so far is done well. He seems sinister and dark. Well done.
8. Not a big fan of how the story unfolds. They show you something and then go back to show what really happened. It gets tiring after a while.
9. Looks like they spent a lot of money and effort creating the world. CG looks pretty good for the most part. Wire-fu… not so much.

I’m looking forward to see how this ends. Just found out that there will be a part 2. Interesting.

probably would have liked it if I watched it in 2012

I'm writing a review on MDL for the first time. And it is not because I'm in love with this drama. My expectations were high for this one since it had so much positive reviews and I was let down in the first episode itself.

First of all, after like 2016, after watching so many well produced dramas I am easily annoyed by the style (?) most dramas in 2009-2013 have. I don't know how to explain that , the way everyone talks sounds so unnatural and there's this unnecessary background music in every freaking scene and it bothers me a lot.

Talking about this drama, I knew that I will definitely drop it seeing the scene where kim haneul's character's dress was torn when a thread from it gets stuck on the ML's bag. I thought our guy is going to give his coat to her to cover her waist, but instead he made creepy comments about her butt(!) and walked so close to her that the exposed part of her body is not visible to others(if this is not sexual harassment I don't know what is!!) . I hated how he acted like a savior after sexually harassing her and she didn't feel uncomfortable at all? who would like a stranger forcing his body onto you????

All the four men seemed sexist and were acting like those typical sexist men who think being a womanizer is a desirable personality trait for men!

I am not gonna attack the looks of those men because I don't always like conventionally handsome men, but the misogyny and the 2012ish quality of the drama is enough for me to judge the whole drama from a single episode.

If I had watched it in 2012 when I was younger, and thought trashy men are attractive, I would have loved this drama.

On hold....

I started watching this because I thought the storyline was interesting but I had a hard time trying to finish up the second episode. I'm putting it on my hold list and I'll think if I want to come back and re-watch the series.

Thoughts so far:

I get that he has to become a hitman, kind of the main reason for the story but the one thing that I couldn't stop thinking was "how did he become a hitman without going through proper training?" Don’t you need years to become a professional to "maybe" be an accurate hitman? But as you continue watching, you see this hilarious off-timing when he tries to shoot her.

There was also a reference to karate kid wax on wax off. I couldn’t stop laughing. I knew this was going to be more of a funny series rather than serious. Maybe this is why I'm putting it on hold, I was expecting a sad hitman love story. I don't know what to think about it so far so I'm giving it a 5/10. I hope this rating changes if I ever go back and watch.

A PERFECT PRODUCTION

Maybe for some countries, the magic of HIERARCHY has not taken. But in mine we loved it and now it is also ranked 1st in 23 countries and 5th worldwide in the category of television programs.
He also entered the top 10 in the United States for the first time.

SO I LAY THE FOUNDATIONS BEING A BIG FAN OF GOSSIP GIRL AND OVERALL I REALLY LIKE THE ELITE HIGH SOCIETY SCHOOL SERIES OF COURSE I WAS THE PERFECT CUSTOMER FOR "HIERARCHY"

"DESPITE THE FAT I LOVED IT. WITH A RESTED HEAD I ALSO SAW HIS DEFAULTS.

HIERARCHY IS FOR ME MORE A ROMANCE THAN A REVENGE AS THE LATTER HAS LOST ITS MEANING OVER THE EPISODES. AND CLEARLY GO YOUR WAY IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE "PSEUDO" HIGH SOCIETY OF YOUNG KOREANS CHAEBOL THAT WE HAD ALREADY SEEN IN PYRAMID GAME. FROM THE FIRST EPISODE I AM EMBARKED DIRECTLY. THE NEAT CINEMATOGRAPHY / PLANS / MUSIC AND THIS DISTURBING AMERICANIZED PAW STILL PUTS YOU IN A BRAND NEW STYLE OF KDRAMA ALMOST AWAY FROM WHAT WE HAVE BEGUN TO APPRECIATE KOREAN DRAMAS FOR THE DIFFERENT STYLE OF WESTERNS ETC.

HERE THE CHILD IS MORE THAN KING. HE SPEAKS BADLY TO ADULTS, HE HAS POWER (TOO MUCH EVEN) SEX TOBACCO ALCOHOL DRUGS ALL THIS IS PART OF THEIR VERBAL LANGUAGE THEY ARE TOTALLY DEVERGOND. WHY NOT? BUT IS THIS REALLY THE IMAGE OF YOUNG KOREANS? NOT COMPLETELY!
THE "POOR" HERO GOES TO THE "RICH" HIGH SCHOOL (YES WE ARE IN THE CLICHÉS) TO DO JUSTICE TO HIS BROTHER WHO PERISHED BECAUSE OF HIM. ON THE WAY HE MEETS THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE ONLY THIS ONE ALREADY HAS HER HEART TAKEN AND A VERY TRAUMATIC STORY TO HER MAKING HER DEVOID OF ALL EMOTIONS.

OUR HERO WILL THEREFORE HAVE TO JUGGLE BETWEEN HIS RECENT CRUSH AND THE HUNT FOR THE CULPRIT ALTHOUGH THIS WILL NOT BE THE PRIORITY OF THE CENTRAL PLOT YOU WILL HAVE UNDERSTOOD IT. BECAUSE HIERARCHY'S PROGRAM IS RATHER A LOVE TRIANGLE AND DECEITFUL PEOPLE AROUND WHO ALL HAVE THEIR LITTLE SECRETS AND WHO CLOSE THEIR EYES TO EVERYTHING IF THEY DON'T HAVE POWER, AND WHO ABUSE IT IF THEY HAVE IT TO MAKE AMERICAN PARTIES OR POUR MONEY/ALCOHOL AND LUXURY OUTFIT AFLOAT OR TO MAKE THE LAW AT SCHOOL.

THE PROS:

CINEMATOGRAPHY

OST

DECORS / UNIFORMS

CHOICE OF ACTORS (LEE CHAEMIN) AND PARENTS

THE SHORT FORMAT

VF AUDIO TO EXPAND THE KDRAMAS PUBLIC

THE FINAL MORALITY

THE SECRET OF THE LEAD WAS QUITE SURPRISING FOR A SCHOOL NOT USUAL OF KOREANS WHO ARE TABOO WITH THAT

THE INTIMATE SCENES THAT WERE DIFFICULT TO SHOOT FOR YOUNG ACTORS

APPEARANCES ARE MISLEADING

THE MAIN ROMANCE WAS STRONG BUT ABOVE ALL THANKS TO THE GUY

. THE CONS:

THE LEAD WAS WITHOUT EMOTION IT BECAME TIRING CREATING A LACK OF ALCHEMY

THE PLOT VENGEANCE IS COMPLETELY ABSORBED BY ROMANCE AND OTHER PROBLEMS

THE USA SIDE IS NICE BUT IS AWAY FROM KOREAN REALITY

INDECENCIES AND INJUSTICES ARE TOO NORMALIZED (LIKE THE TEACHER AND THE TEACHER EVERYONE KNOWS BUT?? )

THE LEAD IS EATEN BY THE SECOND LEAD SEVERAL TIMES AND WE NO LONGER KNOW HIS PLACE

THE CLICHÉS (BUT I DON'T LOVE IT)

THE MORAL END BUT AMBIGUOUS IN THE END WHO REALLY LEARNED THE LESSON?

THE FACT THAT THE TEASER DOING MORE THRILLER

GLOBALLY I LOVED THAT THE KOREANS GET OUT OF THEIR COMFORT ZONE EVEN IF WE WERE A LITTLE IN THE EXCESS FROM PENTHOUSE, ESCAPE, ETC. THEY LET THEMSELVES GO A LITTLE TOO MUCH LIKE US LOL AND IT'S NOT A GOOD SIGN FOR THE FUTURE IF WE CHOSE KDRAMAS IT'S BECAUSE THE USA SERIES ALSO LIFTS US TO THE BASE. I STILL ENJOYED THIS CINEMATOGRAPHY AND GLOBAL PRODUCTION THAT GOES UP A NOTCH AND SELLS DREAM FOR AN ELITE SCHOOL BUT WHICH IS VERY FAR FROM KOREAN CLICHÉS AND REALITY. I TOOK THIS WORK AS IT CAME AND I APPRECIATED SOME ACTORS WHO PLAYED WITH A LOT OF BITES DESPITE THE SCENARIO MISTAKES. I ADVISE IT TO THE REGULARS OF THE USA SERIES NOT THE REGULARS OF THE WEAK HERO DRAMAS ETC. TAKE THE WORK AS IT COMES. IT'S NOT A CHAOS THERE'S WORK BEHIND YOU DON'T BELIEVE AND GO DOWN THE DRAMA IS NOT JUSTIFIED FOR ME BUT I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT IT DIDN'T AFFECT EVERYONE

High Budget Low Plotline

I am very disappointed about this drama as it was very anticipated by me and everyone weeks before release but it turned out to be a below average kdrama. I just finished watching the drama and all I can make out is what the writer wanted to show? A love triangle which was poorly constructed, a murder mystery of a student or the social inequality presented in the society? The drama is basically based upon these topics which practically failed the whole Plotline and is very poorly written. It seems like the writer was confused about what to show. These topics should have been fitted if there was a good Plotline. Acting/Cast- Pls the only ones that carried the show were Kang ha (Lee chaemin) and the sfl ( Hera ). Their acting was justified. I was expecting Jae-i ( Roh Jeong eui ) to standout but alas she didn't. In each episode, her acting was the same. I anticipated the drama for her and didn't expect such poor results, especially Hera stood out to me in the drama more than her.( Wishing her to be in a new drama soon as the main lead). Ri- an acting was mediocre but his role was childish and immature. All the other side characters didn't stood out to me at all and there wasn't a single remember character. The only thing which is good are the osts believe me I searched up for those after the drama ended!!!.
It practically as no rewatch value as the Plotline neither the acting of the majority is good. Let me say this, if you enjoy highschool dramas like me then you can go for it! It gave me elite vibes numerous times, but it isn't as good as Elite. So you can watch it to kill time. The first episode suprised me as it's very good and was up to my expectations. After ep 3 the story starting degrading and got boring, after that only the last episode is interesting where the whole Plotline twist is revealed.

I'm far from finishing this. I've only started it yesterday and am currently watching the fifth episode. And I am writing this simply because I do not now where else I should get rid of all this frustration. I mean, of course this is like a soap, so lots and lots of drama. Thats not the problem. In that regard this fulfills everything a true soap lover desires. And I'm not here to complain about the series at all, but i am here to complain about what the hell is wrong woth the characters. Slapping people here and there, having world views that make me sick to the stomach. On one hand it's perfect if you want to be really really upset about conservative values and want to feel like kicking some butts. On the other hand I do not know where to go with all this pent up frustration. I'm not going to spoiler anything here, so I'm not going into any details. If you wanna feel how I feel, go ahead and watch it. As I said, theres a ton of drama. It scratches that guilty-pleasure-itch of watching overly dramatic soaps perfectly. Have fun getting mad at fictional stories (with probably and sadly some true backgrounds)

THE BEST!!!

Irin (Min Pechaya), the it girl running Bannasorn Publishing House, is crowned "the devil" for her tempestuous and fearless demeanor. But what nobody knows is that it is all an act. The truth is Irin only puts up a mean front just so her younger sister, Inn (Piploy Kanyarat), can stand out and be adored by all. But no matter how well Irin puts on such a cattish act, she can never stop her younger next-door neighbor Namcha (Win Metawin) from falling in love with her. In fact, Irin and Namcha used to date when they were students, but for some reason, Irin broke things off without an explanation and devastated Namcha in the process. Namcha is now a veterinarian working in a hospital, and since he's never forgotten his first love, he's ready to do whatever it takes this time around to get back together with the love of his life. Since Irin won't believe he is still in love with her, Namcha makes it his mission to prove her wrong. Unfortunately for them, this second chance at love is somehow full of obstacles because Inn has also been in love with Namcha for a long time and is working with none other than their family's lawyer Jin (Pod Suphakorn) to sabotage her sister's relationship. Jin himself, through some elaborate schemes, is working to gain the trust of both Irin and her grandfather to take care of the family. And then comes Ploychan (Ticha Kanticha), the owner of a dog farm who's helping Namcha and his hospital with an ulterior motive by using her dog, Action, as a go-between. Love should come easy for the two of them, but family, work, and even friends all seem to tear them apart. How will this love be for Irin and Namcha?
