Not Perfect

Short Drama

PROS:
◇The couple was cute

◇Short drama only 7ep (20-30min)

◇How the leads both apologized often and wanted the other to be happy.

CONS:

◇Wish they focused on getting to know each other a little more before the physical realtionship.

◇Production wasnt great low budget it was 2020.

◇Insta Love through ing the L word only after days of knowing eachother.

◇Wish there were time skips or lapse showing the realtionship grow.

Overall a one time watch for me personally.
PG13 for the married couple realtionship. More then Kdramas less then american shows

Cheering for Season 2

I'm really into this kind of drama, and here's what I love about it: The cinematography is stunning, the dialogue is captivating, those slow-motion fight scenes are just perfect, and the mystery keeps me hooked.

But there's one little thing that bugs me about this drama – the lip color they put on the male leads. It's not a big deal, but it stands out to me.

I get that not everyone might share my passion for this genre, but I'm a big fan, just like I am of "Sword Snow Stride." I'm really hoping for a second season for both of these shows, and I'm definitely cheering for it!

Wasn't a fan :(

I want to start this review by saying the genre MEOLODRAMA is not for me.
So this is "me not the show" situation. I didn't know the genre going in and part two definitely was MEOLODRAMA heavy.

One & Only is a historical, war, Meolodrama. This is Part one of the story/plot.

Forever and Ever is a modern day Meolodrama. This is part two of the story/plot.

Technology you don't have to watch Part One to fully understand Part Two but it's advised.

PROS:
◇Bai Lu is an amazing actress and I will ALWAYS give all her projects a try just for her. She was in the 1st Cdrama I ever watched so I'm a huge fan. ♡
◇Some of the side characters especially the kind ones. Loved them and wanted to protect them.
◇The OST
◇The Reborn trope always a fan.

CONS:
◇I didn't like the Meolodrama elements of it. (Again that's on me for not double checking the genre before going in)
◇Amazing actors but sadly didn't feel the chemistry between them.

The only reason I finished it was because I was promised a happy ending. Also that part two was lighter. Will it wasn't yes the LEADS got a happy ending but part two felt even more sad then part one at times.

Overall if you are a fan of Bai Lu and are trying to watch all her projects then maybe watch. If not maybe pass on it 🙈

Also many Trigger/ Content Warnings please look into before starting.

Should have dropped

Review @ ep20.
So this was on my watchlist because I like YangYang but dang.
There is so many things wrong with this drama and IMO the only good thing about this drama is the visually appealing casts and their camaraderie with each other and also some of the emotionally charged rescue scenes.
So far this drama doesn’t really care about details/continuity and also getting proper procedures right. I am by no means a medical professional or a firefighter but even I can tell a lot of things that has happened so far didn't seem right and is so unbelievable and unrealistic but I guess the emotional tug of it is canceling out the lack of realism for a lot of people.
Then let’s get to the main leads, I love YangYang but the constant stoic frowny face was not giving at all. Sometimes his expressions were over the top and not adequate for the corresponding scene.
That face worked in Who Rules The World because he was supposed to be shrouded in mystery as Prince Feng Lanxi with the alter ego of Hei-Fengxi, it didn’t work that well in You Are My Glory but the script/plot in that one was better and also the chemistry/maturity of the characters covered up for it. I guess YangYang equates serious/intense with Stoic/frowny face.
But in this one I can barely feel any chemistry between the leads (which is surprising considering the rumor that they are dating). We are being told that they have this epic love that has made both of them stay single and maybe even celibate for 10years but I just can’t see it in the present time, we can’t see why they like each other because they end up fighting after almost every conversation and don’t seem to have the same life ideals and values. Even the flashbacks we’ve been shown so far doesn't really show me this epic love story, it was cute and all for a high school romance but nothing so life altering in the way it’s being presented in the present time. So honestly it doesn’t really make you care about the lead’s getting together. How many high school romance make it all the way?
The FL is basically suffering from Stockholm syndrome with her family and I seriously get the trauma she is dealing with but some of her character portrayal doesn’t make any sense. She’s very weak/meek towards her mom which is very understandable according to the storyline so far. But I don’t get why she is sassy/bold with the ML one minute but whenever they get into the rinse/repeat rollercoaster scene that has been their interactions for the last 20eps where they have the we can’t together because I don’t have the courage to fight for you but I will be stalking you and asking you why you aren’t seeking me out all the time & fighting for me even though I am the one that can’t commit to the relationship because of my family conversation and she’s uttering this words in the most lowest voice possible with downcast eyes and pathetic/demur demeanor.
I honestly tolerated the pathetic/weak/timid/demur characterization of the FL because of the upbringing she had but my tolerance level went to ZERO after the supermarket scene in ep20. The female lead had always not only stood up to her creepy delusional brother prior to that scene but also even lashed out at him but all of a sudden we are supposed to accept her acting terrified/petrified of him in the supermarket all because of a freaking bag of chips, puhhhhh-lease. That scene made zero sense and was done for no other reason than the ML and the FL’s brother to have a testosterone filled pissing contest and for the ML to be the hero and save the day by rescuing the FL and honestly it was just beyond ridiculous.
I should have dropped this drama but I will complete it with the help of the fast forward ⏩ button and except you really like any or both of the leads or you just want to watch a fire fighting show where you don’t really care about accuracy and correct details/procedures then go ahead and watch this otherwise I strongly advise you to not bother with this.

Updated review after completion.
Even with the fast forward ⏩ this was a struggle to finish. It didn’t get worse by any stretch of the imagination and although there were lots of cute scenes and heartbreaking scenes that tugged at the heart, for me it didn’t get any better either.
Typical CDrama kumbaya ending. It’s so weird that a wedding was talked about so much in lots of episodes but there was now no wedding at the end of the drama, I don’t really understand the directional decision on that but honestly I don’t even care because I was just happy to finally finish the drama and put it in the forgotten pile.
The drama just had lots of doom and gloom and the romance while cute at times was very muted for an adult based drama so it didn’t even balance out all the heaviness of the doom and gloom.
I definitely won’t ever be rewatching this. Like I said earlier except you are a HUGE fan of either of the leads or want to watch a highly questionable “right procedural” fire fighting and error filled medical show, by all means have at it, if not, do yourself a favor and don’t bother with this.

One of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen

In Kim Tae-ri's first movie she gave an incredible performance within a very sad story and with a life lesson at the end that everyone should learn.

We often get stuck in the past, which ends up paralyzing us in the present and making it impossible to create a new future in our lives.

When Moon Young believed she found her mother she had the strength to speak her first words after years. After this scene she understood that she was no longer the same girl traumatized after her mother left when she was 4 years old.

When her willpower is greater than her traumas, it can change the reality of her life.

not for the lovers of dramatics

probably my most controversial review, but the story has minimal drama, and that seems to be everyone’s issue with it. I personally enjoyed not having to deal with unnecessary love triangles, second leads, bullying, overly dramatic breakdowns, and miscommunication. in fact, there is so much communication between the leads that it doesn’t fall into the “2 episodes to fix this” trope and I wholeheartedly enjoyed that things were addressed head-on.

joke and zo display maturity and growth spectacularly. and even with the few instances where dunk’s acting fell a bit short, he pulled through with his role overall.

if anything, the constant complaints I’ve seen only show that gmmtv are not supporting them as they should. dunk has the potential, he simply isn’t having faith and resources put into him. time also seems to be a foreign concept to gmmtv, as this feels like they rushed everyone to finish. finally, a reminder that dunk is still relatively new. joong has been in this industry for a while now and reprised quite a few roles so it is unfair to compare them. give dunk time.

the only thing I did not like was the ending. joke deserved more than just that dinner scene. his father was absolutely vile and it felt like most of that was cut/rearranged to make it a quick reconciliation.

also, pok and jeng were incredible to see. everyone gets so lost in tearing this down that it seems everyone forgets them. seeing a more raw and realistic coming out gave this show more layers. aou and boom did an amazing job, their scenes brought so many emotions. genuinely would love to see them take on lead roles now.

I don’t know what exactly the complaints are on about, as I found this to be one of the best series I watched as it released. hoping we get more of everyone in this show, they all worked so well together.

filled to the brim with old kdrama vibes

if you need a kdrama to decompress and to be in the most delulu mindset this is perfect for you. please do not let the budget stop you from watching.

lee jaein and kim dahyun sure do have questionable aspects to their relationship due to their possessiveness but all i can say is this is no surprise for kdrama writers in the 2010s. the leads were funny, loveable and had amazing chemistry with each other - the story was super fun to boot.
this kdrama will definitely be living in the recesses of my mind for years to come.

Slice Of Life ♡

I am so happy I didn't give up on Jdramas! This one is probably my favorite I have seen so far.
◇Lovely charcters
◇Charming story
◇Happy ending
◇Binge worthy
◇Sweet Romance

This show was a sweet slice of life about two
people in an arranged marriage. Ofcourse they fall in love ❤️
I'm slowly 🐌 getting into more Japanese media (Thank You One Piece) and the short shows are a good start.

Really enjoyed the characters and how it was a slow burn romance.
Overall this was a nice one time watch.

Rain that Dried Out

To be frank, I must admit that as the story progressed it just got worse. The beginning of the story was refreshing, and the storyline intrigued me, particularly the concept of two soulmates losing their hearing during rainfall, leaving them only able to hear each other. It's quite an endearing concept. The idea of having someone to communicate with on gloomy days and eventually meeting that person sounds incredibly wholesome. I still love this aspect of the story, but I have to confess that towards the end, when they started tampering with this unique element, causing it to disappear and involving Lomfon in all the confusion, it really irritated me. Why did they have to portray him as such a villain?

I absolutely adore Saengtai as a character. He's a loving individual who consistently tries his best, despite having certain traumas that may influence his judgment. This remains evident throughout the drama. His brother, Saengthian, is also a character I adored. He's a pure cutie pie, and the way he protects and wishes the best for Tai was just so heartwarming and had me melting.

I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of Phat though, and this sentiment became even stronger when the climax of the drama unfolded. The way he handled things and communicated with Tai seemed selfish and self-centered, a stark departure from his previous character just a few minutes ago. Moreover, simply disappearing and cutting off contact due to a simple misunderstanding infuriated me. I understand that such misunderstandings are common in these types of dramas, but what happened to resolving issues through communication? It felt like a sudden and out-of-place breakup, especially considering how happy and supportive they were in the previous episode. Really said 'who she? cause I don't know her.' It left me genuinely shocked in the worst way possible.

Despite these setbacks, the acting in the drama was outstanding. The emotions conveyed through the actors' eyes truly immerse you in the story. The quality of the filming was also breathtaking as well, especially when it comes to the settings in which the scenes were shot at.

Overall, if we set aside the unnecessary drama and sudden plot twists, I did enjoy the drama. The concept was unique, and the actors delivered remarkable performances in their respective roles. The message of the drama, emphasizing the idea of loving and being with the one you truly love, rather than conforming to the universe's idea of a perfect match, was both sweet and on-point as well. Love can take various forms, and this message was well-conveyed.

If they ruin the relationship between Thian and Lomfon with that ending though.... the rain will become a river which I will then drown the screenwriter in. :D

It didn't work for me :(

The idea of the plot sounded like a fun Jdrama and I was looking forward to a light show.
It turned out stressing me out.
The characters wouldn't talk to eachother honestly they didn't even know how they felt themselves.
There were some really random moments with other characters aswell that just were strange.

This one didn't work out for me but that's how it goes at times.
I'll still keep giving Jdramas a try because I'm sure I can like them just haven't found the right one. ♡

JoongDunk: The Series

Let’s get this out of the way: this is very much "JoongDunk: The Series". Everything else: the side characters, the plot, themes and conflicts, were put aside to make way for the main couple’s cuteness. And don’t get me wrong, they are cute. They have great chemistry and their intimate scenes are *chef’s kiss*. And although many people complain about the acting, honestly, I've seen worse.
Still, I wish the series was more.
To me, the biggest problem was that all the conflicts were thrown seemingly out of nowhere (unless you paid attention to a single line mentioned by an extremely side character a few episodes earlier), then solved immediately and never mentioned again. That made the series seem very fragmentary, with no overarching plot that would connect all the episodes into one coherent story.
I can’t help but think about Tee Bundit’s other series, “Something in My Room”. I watched it uncensored (70 minutes per episode) because the censored version had some really bizarre editing choices, with key scenes being removed to the point where the plot didn’t make much sense. I wonder if the same thing happened here, except we’ll never get the full show.

Here’s how I would make it:
As many people said, Jeng and Pok should have more scenes. Jeng coming up with excuses to avoid being seen in public, Pok being increasingly bothered by it, until he can’t take it anymore and tries to break up. Jeng with his football co-players (I can’t call them friends), witnessing their machoism and homophobia. Pok crying in Zo’s arms. And so on.
The debate club should play a bigger role. We should see more debates, preparing for debates, etc. The screenwriters could use this opportunity to discuss social issues, like marriage equality or queerbaiting in media (tee-hee). Also, the big competition should take at least half a season, not be mentioned twice, then thrown in at the last minute.
During the preparation, Wave’s distaste for Joke should become prominent. And mutual. Zo may have noticed and asked Joke, who’d say it’s not his place to say. Maybe he’d known about what happened between Trine and Wave, maybe he’d just known they had a conflict. In any case, Zo would have to do a bit of investigating.
While we’re here, I wish Nita would get more screen time, so we could get to know her as more than a “love interest”. Maybe give her a reason to want to win the scholarship? And us a reason to root for her?
James should show up earlier, stick around Zo, but always disappear when Joke or even Zo’s friends show around. Zo’s friends would notice there’s something off about the guy, so it wouldn’t feel like Joke’s just being paranoid.
Also, Zo’s mother should be more present, calling or texting Zo and putting pressure on him (even interrupting his dates). Maybe a scene or two of Zo scrolling social media and seeing her pose with her accomplished students? Also, the situation should be resolved with something more than it was (an apology maybe?).
Same with Joke’s father. I know it was meant to be a surprise, that Joke was going through the same thing as Zo the whole time, but the resolution we got left me feeling “wtf just happened?”. Joke’s father goes from 0 to 1 in a matter of seconds and for no reason other than “Zo told him to.”
To accommodate those changes:
The pointless faux-breakup in the last episode could be cut, it didn’t serve anything.
While Puen’s story was important in explaining Zo’s initial hesitation, the reconciliation could be cut. No one cares about him and he never shows again.
A lot of Joke and Zo's dates could be shortened.

Anyway, the series we got was a mindless fluff, something to switch your brain off and relax. I don't regret watching it, but I wouldn't do it again (although I will rewatch certain scenes, because damn).
If you really have to watch it, stick to the last parts of ep 4, 7, 8, and 10 and the beginning of ep 11. Thank me later.

We deserve to walk in the sun

This one got to me alright, it got me right in my queer little heart.
It's such a beautiful, tender, deeply realistic story about two people who love each other but who are boxed in by invisible social barriers. It sends a loud and clear message about equal rights and the challenges queer people and specifically queer couples are confronted with in everyday life. It addresses these topics unflinchingly but nevertheless with great sensitivity.
There are no tragic deaths to underscore the suffering queer people have to go through, instead the characters get to stand up and face their troubles directly. They get to protest and fight and lend each other strength by simply loving one another.
It's a simple tale of resilience and love, expertly told.
If there really is a sequel coming, I can't wait to see more.

Funny and cute

I’m not sure why such bad reviews? I’ve never read the manga but I thought it was good. Ryoma especially was funny and I enjoyed watching him as a character. It did feel quite low budget in terms of filming etc but it is what it is. I really enjoyed it.

Would I watch it again? Probably not but it gave me a laugh and it was cute too.
I didn’t think Izumi looked all that feminine either but I think the premise was a unique one I’ve not seen one with that storyline before.

Like I say it’s not the best thing I’ve watched but I don’t think it deserves 1s 😂

Sorry for the content

Fluke-kun's acting and cuteness were perfect, but to be honest, I was disappointed because the story didn't have much depth and many of the comedy bits felt like crude jokes. If they are going to use suitable actors, I would like them to create a play with a script that suits them.
The actors had no similarity with the characters.
I highlight Nike's work and put in excellent performances, I think they were the ones who somewhat saved the series.
It's a shame that Fluke's acting ability has been overshadowed to such a degree. He deserved a better script and character than this one.
he was completely overshadowed and I dare say treated as a beginner with this series.
