Hilarious!

I laughed and laughed and laughed. This series became my weekly stress reliever because, as the old saying goes, laughter is truly the best medicine. One thing I loved about this series is that there were no wasted characters; everyone was essential to the plot. It had the perfect balance of tension, humor, suspense, and nonsense. I enjoyed every episode and never grew bored. My only criticism is that I was expecting a romantic comedy, but the romance was the weakest aspect of the series. However, the overall series was so excellent that it didn’t matter in the end.

watch it for pure entertainment - sometimes infuriating!

i don't know how to objectively rate this drama. but that said it was damn fun and entertaining. with a sprinkle of everything, along with a great cast and memorable characters, backed by really memorable repeated (read to the point of irritation!) songs and music. ofcourse, a tidy amount of older kdrama toxic and controlling characters too, for good measure. IT'S A CLASSIC!

great addictive initial episodes, but goes off the rails by and ep 17. i never understood this great love or kim tan eun sang and although i got his rebel phase, the whole eun sang comeback resolution and everything was just to half hearted and confusing. and half the things made no sense by then.

happy ending for all pairs except poor hyung!

Go watch it - it's one of the best shows of 2023

This series is the kind that stays with you a long time after you have finished because the main characters and their stories connect with you at a deeper level. While the plot might not be the most original, its presentation is novel. The acting of the entire star cast is outstanding. Special mention to Park Hyung Sik - the Crown Prince - who looks more royal than the royals themselves and has given one of the finest Prince/King performances out there. It's a complex character, and he has brought out each layer beautifully (the actor's facial expressions are so good that you can make out what he is thinking without him saying a word). It's great to see a Prince who looks and acts like one, but he can empathise and work on his weaknesses. His shy and reserved nature adds to his relationship with FL who is unconventional and fiesty, giving us a very old fashioned romance which is like a breath of fresh air. It's a character-driven story. Even when the PD lets the story slack, the actors pick up and keep you glued. There are no boring episodes. The humour is A+, and some episodes will get your adrenaline soaring. Full marks to the team for the correct period feel, costumes, and mannerisms. While violence is minimal, some scenes can be disturbing. Romance has a Jane Austen feel to it, which is beautiful. Go watch it.

AGHHHH

MAN I LOVED THIS SHOW!!

It was funny as hell and interesting each episode! When I first started it i didn’t expect much and honestly i started it because of Han Jimin since she’s one of my favourite actresses!? But really this kdrama is SO worth it. Each episode filled with mystery and comedy, My Liberation Notes and 2521 were preferenced and I loved it so much it was hilarious!!!??? Really this show has action, mystery and comedy and it’s executed so well! As someone who followed this story as the episodes were getting released, I was always excited for the new episode. AND the OST is amazing!!! The song is in my playlist now!!! Must watch really! And I can’t stop emphasising how funny the show was, they really got a laugh out of me each episode!

But honestly there is ONE thing I was a little iffy about and it’s how Yebun let the whole ‘my mother was murdered’ situation slide so easily. I get that the murderer died but still…

and also about seonwoo’s mother who disappeared! I’m so sad that he never got to find out!!! but on another note, I think everything else was perfect! Love it !!

Probably the best kdrama in 2023!!

Kalau ada yg bilang cerita superheroes Amerika kalah, kayaknya ada benernya sih. Nggak sekedar "adu kekuatan", Moving ini juga sarat drama yg meaningful (you know, kadang ada bumbu drama yg ala kadarnya). Jadi, antara action & dramanya tuh pas, balance. Back story-nya kuat. Tentu saja akting para pemainnya nggak perlu diragukan karena banyak bintang besar. Tapi yang patut diapresiasi adalah para aktor mudanya yg surprisingly bagus-bagus (Lee Jong-ha yg meranin Bong-seok tuh belum terlalu sering akting lho!). Bagi yg suka cerita semacam Heroes (US Series rilisan 2006-2010), pasti bakal suka Moving. Kalau mau coba nonton, kelarin sampai episode 7 dulu, baru deh boleh nge-judge ? Mungkin bakal ada yg ngerasa alurnya lambat, but trust me, itu semua ngaruh ke cerita!

I really wish I hadn’t watched this

Pros:

Jung Hae In - he made it worth every miserable minute I spent on this show.

In the beginning, the chemistry between the leads was off the charts. That is the type of relationship I have always wanted to have.

Cons:

The whole thing was filmed with some sort of drab filter. It was depressing. Most everything was in shades of black and brown.

If I hear “Stand by Your Man” one more time I think I’ll scream. It was played multiple times in a single episode. EVERY episode. Two different singers didn’t help.

Her mother was a HORRIBLE person. She is the most wicked of the wicked witches I have ever seen in a series. Once she found out about their relationship, the whole series turn a dark turn. Nothing about it was enjoyable. She just made everyone miserable including me.

The FL was great in the beginning and I like her as an actress. But, in this role, I ended up hating her. She was the most selfish person and treated the ML so badly when all he tried to do is protect her and love her with all his heart. But, she started sneaking around and lying to him. I was so heartbroken for him. Even though they got back together in the last TWO minutes of the series, I couldn’t be happy for them.

I just really wish I hadn’t watched this in the first place. It was depressing and made me nervous and upset just watching this stupid show. Why did the writers think this would be enjoyable to watch?

Great Adventure, Chemistry, both Roosters were the MVPs!

What first drew me to the drama was its tomb-raidery vibe and MZY. I knew two other actors from previous series, granted it had been nearly 4 years since seeing Jin Han in my first ever cdrama, so it was good to have him on screen again. This had great adventure, awesome chemistry between the leads (normal, adult kissing! Rare find in a cdrama nowadays), and those roosters were the real MVPs!

Pros: This will probably be the first drama ever where the livestock comes in line one of the pros if anywhere at all; but those roosters were great for both comedic purposes as well as being ridiculously smart and helpful. Loved how the first several episodes were built around creating the characters and building their world. The chemistry between the two leads was from the moment they met and it felt real as you'd expect between two adults regardless if this had supernatural or other elements. Their conversation in the closet about cooking one of the roosters when it spied on them and then ran was hysterical.

Ni Ni is absolutely gorgeous and you obviously have to get over that but it quickly becomes apparent that she's also one hell of an actress. BY is also quite good as the traumatized yet exceptionally intelligent desert guide. When they combine, this power couple of brains and brawn in reverse, they can outsmart just about everyone. Their 3 sidekicks who go with them into the desert and then later the two that they meet in the pass all do their part and are quite convincing; my least favorite was Fei Tang in the beginning but I liked his maturity evolution. I'm glad they all lived at the end though Gao Shen's life was forever changed and our FL was the bionic woman scorpion queen.

I have to talk about the gorgeous scenery inside the pass especially the many moons in the sky. This is a particularly favorite aesthetic of mine so I was always pleased when they spent time outside in the desert there. But everything from the CGI to the OSTs were on point in this drama. The stories told within the pass were so great too.

Even though I had originally wanted to watch this drama for MZY, not knowing what her role would be, her character falls in both the pros and cons for me. She started off as being what an antagonist should be; ruthless, though her motive was yet unclear, the beginning was good. She was a good spy and her initial start was good. Also liked how she had several plans going at once to win (the Chang Dong heartstring thing, the fake Gao Shen plant). The rest I'll talk about in the cons.

The real tragic character here was Jiang Zhan played by Jin Han. At first he was thought to be an antagonist because he was on Long Zhi's side trying to kill FL. But when it was revealed that she had cast a spell on him and the pain he had to go through when the memories came flooding back, he chose to take his own life, but the witch didn't allow that, then he was forced to live like a dog as her hostage. Finally with YLX's win, when he was finally free, he realized the cost of that freedom and he went out on his own terms because as he said, they couldn't go back to the past. He always felt he was weak and now he'd (though not by choice) betrayed the only woman he'd ever loved, there was no real way out for him. It was acted really well and you felt for him.

Cons: Quite a few things bugged me here; for starters the randomness of the old man storyteller and painter characters. The way they were flung into the series broke the already unsteady pace of the show due to its bizarre schedule. Yes, it was done supposedly due to censorship but it was unnecessary because no one in their right mind would go running to the desert to try to open a dimension. Even if people were to believe in that, at the beginning of each episode it specifically says the show is pure fiction.

Where the character of Long Zhi went downhill was her actual motive which though was about power and jealousy, it seemed quite childish and unbelievable. The character after the initial peak constantly sported a 15 year old 'tude. During the stand off between her and YLX with Scorpion Eye and the giant scorpion, it seemed like LZ herself lost all of her ruthlessness and kept clutching at her clothing as she was trying to order the gang to kill YLX. If you looked at the differences between her and YLX, you could almost switch their characters. YLX was unyielding and her stare could grind one into bits. I feel that maybe this role was a bit too hard for MZY. Personally, first time seeing her in an antagonist role. She lost all of LZ's ruthlessness in the second part of the end.

Also what played against her was the fact that the ending was super anticlimactic. Great build up to a fight or war that never happened. All the big fights were either in flashbacks or somewhere in the middle. It was basically send all of the exotic creatures away with the big snake giving the orders, and then have Scorpion Eye just blow some Feathered Guards up and capture them without much muss or fuss. Then they all sit at the negotiation table to save Chang Dong and go for a life of peace and prosperity for the next 3 years. Everyone lives and reunites but we get the couples in the painter's mind's eye with Gao Shen actually becoming a puppet to save his life and DL as cartoon forms together being the new transporters in and out of the pass. They couldn't even get a normal ending. These are the reasons this otherwise great drama got an 8.5/10.

Would I recommend it? Yes, if only for the leads chemistry, the smart as hell roosters, and the story itself. This is a very different kind of drama than what I've seen and despite the cons, I enjoyed it a lot.

Good detective storyline, bad character writing, does not know what it wants to be

This is a show that, at least to me, does not know what it wants to be. It has campy humour, some dark portions, detective/mystery portions, super abilities, all mixed together in a weird soup.

The premise of the story was very interesting, and quite well executed in how the various characters get their powers and how they use them. The detective/mystery portions were pretty good too. However, the characterizations were sometimes sacrificed for the campy humour, and also making some really stupid decisions out of nowhere. For example, how detective moon went around sniffing white powder like an idiot. They seemed to seesaw in portraying him as a good detective , then a useless one that only knows how to depend on FL's powers.

Overall, it probably did not deserve such a low rating, but my personal hate for that is pretty high so it outweighs the other good stuff for me. Still, managed to finish it, worth a watch at least

Excellent bromance for an overall very disappointing drama

I started watching because this is one of the danmei drama adaptations I've seen being recommended the most. I was also encouraged by the rating here on the MDL page for the drama.

I can say that I understand why I saw it being recommended it so much. For anyone who is a fan of BL or bromance dramas/series, this is gold: the two main characters are great actors and have excellent chemistry with each other. While it doesn't get as shameless as in other dramas I've watched (namely Word of Honor), this show still makes it very easy for me to read between the lines and consider it a full-fledged love story rather than a bromance. Shen Wei would make it very hard for anyone not to fall for him whenever he lets go of his calm and collected attitude to help Zhao Yunlan in any way possible, and the Guardian himself is unable to act all cool and detached for long before starting to care for Shen Wei deeply.

The problem of this drama is just... everything else. The story felt very chaotic and hard to follow from the get-go to me, to the point that I had to stop myself from dropping the drama altogether after the first two episodes. The events of the story are not very appealing, so even when I had to feel worried for the characters or excited to see what would come next, I wasn't able to feel much. Unfortunately the same goes for the cast other than the two protagonists; even the most important secondary roles didn't feel much relevant nor interesting. Even the main villains of the story felt more annoying than actually charming or threatening in any way.
All of this was made worse by a very fragile worldbuilding, with obscure rules for supernatural and sci-fi elements that often made me ask "why isn't this character using their power on this occasion?", "if that character had been able to do that all along, why didn't they do that sooner?" and similar.
The pacing of the story was also off, with elements of the plot and some characters that would have benefited from having more time to better explain their situations, and moments in the story that were made unbearably slow and detailed for no real reason.
If all of this wasn't enough, a huge flaw of this drama was the production, which felt... cheap, for the lack of a better word. I usually don't mind lower budgets at all and I hardly even point it out when I notice it, but this time around it was just too annoying. The CGI and other digital effects made me feel like I was watching an early 2000's movie, most of the props and the costumes looked too fake for me to suspend my disbelief, and often times even the audio quality was bad and distracted me from the story further.
While the acting of the main characters was very good, I can't say the same for the rest of the cast. The best I can say for them is that it was decent most of the time for some of them, but in many instances I felt like the acting was too exaggerated and dramatic, or just very stiff and unnatural, depending on the actor or the scene.

I chose to give Guardian a 7 out of 10 because, despite struggling toward the end, I was able to watch the entire thing, and I actually enjoyed myself when I was focused on Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan. They're the only reason why I would recommend this drama to anyone: it's a good bromance and the fans of the genre will definitely love it. My only warning is to lower your expectations in terms of plot and setting: if you're looking for a good fantasy/sci-fi drama, you should look elsewhere.

Couple Chemistry Saved This One!

The drama was just ok. Too much business-speak and meaningless interactions between characters who didn't have a lot to contribute to the main story. Just a lot of fillers. Still, the acting was pretty good - no silly, overly dramatic characters, no villains to seek revenge, just overall a fair characterization of ambitious, overworked professionals in the big city. The episodes tended to drag in places where there really was no importance to the storyline, and that time could have been better spent on the lead and side couples' relationship development and wrap up. The last episode was quite underwhelming with a lot of repetitious babble, but we still got the happy ending we deserved.

The real star of this drama was the chemistry between Elvis & Elvira. While too much time was wasted on the bantering back and forth and the ambiguous exchanges at times, there is absolutely no doubt about the electricity between these two. Those soulful stares from Elvis and Elvira's response to him just sizzled. I liked the sister and her young boyfriend, but really felt sorry for the first guy with the psychological problems. He really played his part well, my heart bled for him even when I tried to see him as creepy. I also liked the love story of the pretentious client and her childhood friend, and the second boss and her guy. All-in-all, while I could have used a little more PDA all-around, the romance part scored.

OST was beautiful and added to the story.

Worth a re-watch on a lazy weekend with nothing to do and kill time. I'm a fan of Elvis Han now. I liked him in Three Kingdoms - but not near as much as in this modern-day role. Will also take a look at Elvira's work as well.

Tea and magic

I liked this very much; it is funny, fast paced, cute and fluffy!

The synopsis above is nonsense though! So let me try and correct it a bit. There are three distinct parts of this drama. In the first part Modem tries to discover the identity of the boy she met when she was in school by using magical tea her aunt makes on two men she met recently: Light and Boss. But her magical experiment goes haywire. The second part is dedicated to Boss, who has been in love with Modem for a very long time but when he sees her moving away from him he uses the aunt's magical tea to hold her with disastrous effects. In the third part of the drama, Modem has to deal with the consequences of her playing with magic at the beginning and the solution turns out to be rather radical!

My Bubble Tea is about magic so your brain should be left on sleep mode. The events are happening at high speed and there are some developments that are difficult to believe because of that speed. There is rarely a calm moment but it is so much fun. The characters are amazing. Light is a bike driver, he is silly, sweet and a bit stupid but immensely kind. He is played by Mean, I remember from Love By Chance. I also remember having impression of him being much taller. His posture is different here: he played Light to perfection and had nice chemistry with Ploy who played Modem. Then there is Modem's family, her aunt and brother and their bickering was priceless. Her friends were a mixed lot of quirky and funny people.

This drama is worth the watch if you are looking for something light and relaxing with a compelling story, a rollercoaster ride of fun and magic. The character names are a blast and there is Cupid helping the story along.....

A must-watch if you want something new

I loved this series so much. It was a new, fresh storyline with great characters, subplots, and twists. I think everyone did their best with playing their characters but I have to point out a few that stood out to me: Khaotung as Chon (Tonhon Chonlatee) vs Ayan was a MASSIVEEEE difference- I almost had no faith that a role like Ayan would suit him because of how used I was so used to his Chon persona. Similarly First as Kim (The Shipper) vs Akk- how did he go from "EHHHHH???!" to perfect Student Prefect like wowwww. I also think it was nice to see Louis and Pawin doing negative roles- great change.

I'm so glad I started this series and would absolutely love to see more like this!

The show should be called "Guess the killer game"!

I've watched Memorist and Pyschometric, so I thought..how different could this be right?

Well, apparently it is quite different, especially the way the psychometric is being done...lol
Now, I get why the title suggest "BEHIND" your touch!

I didn't know who the ML and FL are, so I'm not sure at first , but I ended up loving both ML!

I love how thrilling yet comedic this is, making it not too heavy to watch. I laughed a lot too.

It's also so exciting that it got you round and round guessing wtf is the killer. I thought I guessed it right, but apparently not.

It'd have been a 10, if it's not bcoz of some details like

- I feel there is some part that is draggy. I don't think we need too much scenes explaining what happened in Mujin back then. An appropriate flashes would do the job, really. This causes me to skip some parts

-I am q disappointed how stubbornly foolish the ML is by being obsessed about the suspect. If only he had loosen his grip, he'd have literally guessed the killer who is RIGHT in front of him, if he had not been obssessed about the other guy

-I am also q frustrated by how naive the FL can be lol...she basically is a little bit bimbo which is what i hate about the typical portrayal of Kdrama FL. Where you get pure and innocent FL, which I support, but it doesnt mean it has to be a dumb one. Like, we can have FL who is pure cute, inncocent and smart, isn't it?

Despite these minor flaws, I'd still say the show is really good and worth the watch.

Because of leads i had decided to watch the drama . By reading synopsis i hoped the story would be cleared . First of all i found the chemistry between the lead was poor ,I mean there was no romance . Male lead in the whole drama had shown the same type of expression s.
Even since strating i had never felt that he actually love her.Because three thousands years ago story they were been together because she helped him in the war . Then they separated in the war ,During war he was died and she saved him by giving her core energy and then she realised she loved him . She vanished after transferred her energy to him . Then he looked for her spirit in order to give the core energy back to her . So this had been cleared that it was not love it was just a favour may be . After 3000 years when he found her at that time he was not sure the girl he had found was the one he had been looking . The girl had fallen in love with him . Love at first sight something like that . Then when he realised that the girl was the one who was he looking ? Still no sign of love from his side . Then he always been around her. Afterwards he said her that she was the one whom he liked . This statement had shown that since starting he liked her . This confused me alot . There were so many scenes of them but zero romance ,she was the only who all the time flattering with him ,tease him and did fun with him but from his side same boring expression.
Story was good but execution was failed according to me.
