Editing features not working in mobile

How does one use the shift key in mobile?

I am trying to edit a list and I want to use less spacing between each line without the use of numbers or bullet points. Normally on my laptop I would use a shift + enter key but the up arrow key on mobile doesn't work as a shift key. I have tried to make it work in desktop mode but sadly it doesn't.

Similarly I can't get the "insert row/column" etc features to work on my mobile.

Is there a workaround?
