One of the best drama i ever watched!
This drama has been one of the first dramas i've ever watched and i loved it! The acting was stunning, even the smaller details are good (for example when Chiba touches the water), i really like the facial expressions of every character because they feel real.I gotta say, the story of the manga is more complete, the drama adaptation contains less pieces of the story but its well structured and gets its job done.
Loved the music especially the piano one which i also searched up afterwards.
The cast is so good, i really like both Chiba and Kento, the main actress and SLs too!
My opinion about the obstacles that the FL experiences is that i honestly like this kind of stuff, i like when the FL has difficulties because theres always someone that helps her overcome it, in some cases she overcome them herself and i like that too!
I totally recommend it.

It's a good movie / drama and I would highly recommend watching the prequel before the movie since it adds a lot more context to the story and how everything developed.

[WARNING: the rating and review I give have the possibility to be subjective due to my preference for the genres, scenes or casts]I have the same review as the series, which surprisingly I’m enjoying my time watching this movie. But, this movie contains more emotions and conflict than the series. I salute of Meiko's generosity. I hate how Takumi threatened Haruto about their friendship, but I relieved of how fast and well their ended their problem. Surprisingly, in such young age, they can behave like an adult and solve their problem without harm anyone.

What Girl Would Not Want the Choice?
9/10 is my rating. This is a 2016 Japanese romance movie 1 hour and 32 minutes in length. There was a short, 2 episode , mini series released in 2015 which was meant to promote the film. It is based in a popular Shoji manga series, “Kurosaki-kun no Iinari ni Nante Naranai”.First I provide a Unique Synopsis then review
Synopsis
Yu Akabane (Voiced by: Mikako Komatsu; portrayed by: Nana Komatsu) changes not only schools but her entire demeanor after being bullied. Things do not exactly go smoothly at her new school as she immediately gets on the bad side of Haruto Kurosaki (Voiced by: Kaito Ishikawa; portrayed by: Kento Nakajima) when an accident leads her to cut some of his hair. Known as the black night, his punishment for Yu is to make her be he indentured servant. Annoyed with his constant arrogance and demands, Yu knicknames him black demon. Haruto’s best friend, Takumi Shirakawa, (Voiced by: Kensho Ono; portrayed by: Yudai Chiba) is called the white knight because of his fairer looks and kind demeanor. Once he realizes Haruto is actually interested in Yu, he decides to compete for her favor. The boys have always competed with each other in things. What starts as a game becomes a more serious rivalry when both boys determine they have feelings for Yu.
Review
If you did not watch the 2 episode series, the movie seems to start abruptly and you may wonder if you skipped some scenes. While it is not necessary to watch the 2 episodes prior to the movie, it does explain where it picks up. But if you stick with the movie it does return to what happened before and you catch up.
Overall I enjoyed the movie and my main criticism is the abrupt way it begins. Even with the two episodes out, they could have duplicated the story from the 2 episodes in the opening of the movie.
It ended happy and well.
Spoilers
As with a lot of Japanese shows, it is much “sexier” than most Korean and Chinese shows. It was not over done though. There were some intense kissing scenes but nothing beyond that. Just enough shown in the shower scene to illustrate the physical attraction without showing too much and leaving you wondering if you are watching porn. I liked that about this one.
I appreciated that they valued their friendships enough to give up on their love if it meant ending a long term friendship. But I liked that the friends were not so selfish that they expected their friends to give up just because they too liked the person.

Not For Me
A strange love story. I don't know who's love was more between the 2 friends that was like brothers or the girl they both love. I didn't care for the abusive matters the devil treated the girl or the way they make it that it is the reason she falls in love. The acting was a little to much. I wish they would make these girls with a little more self esteem. It seem they are always naïve, innocent, stupid and let everyone run all over them. I know the characters come from comic books but I wish the author to these comic books would make these girl much stronger. At least at the end she wakes up and stand for herself. Was this review helpful to you?

It's better than the 2 prequel episodes
I would say it is definitely better than the two prequel episodes. I watched it much more willingly and I also felt that Nana's acting was better.
Compared to the prequel episodes, she has undoubtedly gained a little more self-confidence, although she is still not at the same level as in the manga.
But I reiterate the fact that Yuu still does pretty much what she did in the two prequel episodes, that is, she does whatever Kuro tells her to do, when she could say no or at least complain. Needless to say, the manga is much better.
Kazi is a big softie ^^
Although it was enjoyable to watch, I'm still convinced that I'm too old for this kind of thing, and I'm not talking about the cheesy scenes, but the kids acting like adults like this. I mean, even in the manga they are high school students, however, who knows why, that is less jarring... maybe it's the way they are drawn.
Being an adaptation and a movie, obviously many things from the main story were cut out. Like the fight between Meiko and Yuu, the sports festival, the school festival, etc. etc.
Regarding the character of Suzune (who does not appear in this film, but is only mentioned), I take back what I wrote in the previous review: she was an unnecessary addition, did not serve the purpose of the plot, and I will always wonder why they were there to do such a thing.
They really sped up the falling in love process between Yuu and Kuro. However, one thing I really appreciated was that the rivalry between Kuro and Shirakawa was felt quite a bit: his discomfort, his feeling inferior to Kuro and so on.
All in all, it is still a film that I would rewatch if I had nothing better to do and only if I had nostalgia for it.

Should have watched the prequel first
When I started this movie it felt very rushed and the story was definitely missing something. I had no idea there was a 2 episode prequel to this and I regret not starting with that. Other than that, it was a really good movie, and my first Japanese movie to add.I really liked the FL. I understood why she liked the SML at first but I preferred her dynamic with the ML more. The ML is litterally the kid who bullies the girl he has a crush on. He makes it very obvious that he likes her and calls her "dumb" for not getting it. But then again, with the way he was treating her, it made sense for her to dislike him, and not get this point at all considering how badly she was bullied in her old school. The SML was sweet but really boring, I didn't understand his character at all, until the last 10 minutes of the movie.
Edited after prequel: After watching the prequel I can say that his character is actually worse than I expected. He was using the FL for the majority of their relationship in order to retaliate against the ML, that is until he grows to actually like her. I hated how he believed himself to be the better person when he knew, before the ML did, that the ML liked her. He knew that the ML genuinely cared for the FL before he pretended to care for the FL, and yet he throws shade at the ML and tells him to back off. I mean WTF.
I didn't like all the unnecessary drama that came up towards the end of this movie. I feel like they could have extended the ending of this movie to make it better and maybe slowed down the pace at the start.
The best part about this move was the ending. The dynamics completely change between the FL and ML. I mean when the ML was chasing the FL he was very confident about it, but when she finally reciprocated, he got so shy it was adorable. Would have loved it if this was longer and we got to see more of the FL and ML together as a couple. I really wanted to see more of them in the new dynamic where thay are both equal as opposed to slave/master dynamic they had for the majority of this movie.

Things just aren't fair sometimes.
Seriously, Kurosaki irritated me up to an hour into the movie. I'll live by the fact that Takumi deserved better; His white prince title was so fitting. Besides that I loved their friendships; Meiko was a really great friend and I cried towards the end with Kurosaki and Takumi's backstory to their friendship; Not gonna lie there were times I was shipping them together. That was just my BL loving talking though haha. Either way the acting was great love them all and the music on the piano was beautiful as well as the end credit song was super catchy also. I recommend it.Was this review helpful to you?
