the perfect slow-burn drama. when i started watching sotus, i thought i'd get bored or distracted while watching it, but i was proved wrong. everything was just *chef's kiss*. they really took the time to develop each character, especially arthit's. normally, i would get bored by slow-burns, but this one really made me stick to them until the end. there may be no hot scenes or whatever, and that's what makes it great. plus do i need to say something about their chemistry? i'm grateful that this drama has been one of my gateway for the bl world. this isn't boring or what, it's definitely recommendable.

This series is wonderful. SOTUS drops us inside the engineering course society, highlight the freshmen's rituals and showing us a pure and rare romance between two boys. Singto and Krist played their roles to perfection and, even though they take their sweet time to become friends, it's impossible to stop watching SOTUS. The only thing I think that could have been better is the romance. They take too long to be together and, when they do, we don't see anything! Argh!

Anyway, it's a must watch for anyone that likes YA love, regardless of the couple's gender. Love it!

Best BL drama's I've seen!

Sotus the series is the best BL dramas I've seen. Actually, this was my first ever BL that caught my eye. Even I first watched this years ago when it first aired, it's still lingers on my mind and keeps reminding me when I watch other dramas. I think there's just something about SOTUS that just stays with you. I didn't think I'd like a show like this much and get so emotionally attached to the characters because the way they are portrayed is so beautiful. I really fell in love with the story and characters. The stares and gazes between Arthit and Kongpob really tell everything and every emotion. The acting is superb, Singto and Krist do amazing with their acting skills - even with a cliche type plot. The ost in this drama is amazing and I kept on listening after every episode. Krist and Singto definitely carry the show on their shoulders but the secondary character's were nicely done even they could have gotten more development. I think the ending was very well done for BL and probably most satisfied as well, since you keep hoping them to get together haha. I'm a sucker for those romance cliche stuff, and even there wasn't much of skin or kissing - you don't need it. If the actors are superb, as they are, you don't need that stuff. Only their feelings, the small touches, the chemistry the longing and gazes are enough. Definitely worth a watch and even rewatch someday. Check out season too! I really liked how their relationship developed.

Okay to start off. I LOVE this series!.
It kinda broke all the stereotypes revolving around any BL series. Usually, they would go through hardships due to some girl coming into the relationship or people around them not accepting their sexuality or not approving of them causing fights to happen and even huge misunderstandings. I've kinda gotten too sick of the same things happening in BL series all the time.
This drama, however, was different. It's not only about just simple love, but it also teaches many about morals and how we should view things in life. We should stand up for the wrongdoing and start to think about how we can rather improve everything we aren't happy or satisfied with. Efforts do matter. It also shows that behind all the shields people build up around themselves, they are just normal people like any of us are.
I love Singto and Krist's acting. It felt very mutual with so much chemistry. In many other BL series, the acting was rather forced and looked so unnatural. I loved how this series also did not focus on the sexual aspect of the relationship. It was innocent and pure, which was like a breath of fresh air. I like how the actors don't seem awkward with each other too!. But the thing I appreciate about this series is the acceptance of people towards others, no matter what their sexuality or gender necessarily was. They didn't have to make a whole fuzz about it, despite the insecurities that they both felt. I also like how there were straight couples too, which is rare in a BL series. Usually, most of the guys would most likely be all gay, which is highly unrealistic.
This drama was a slow builder which usually I don't like, but I loved that about this series. It kept me hyped and anticipated to watch the next episode as I was curious to finally see them interact romantically.
The only thing I don't like is me not being able to find a BL drama which surpasses this one. I watched a few after this one and they would all rather seem extremely boring to me. I blame Sotus for setting my standards too high. The other thing which annoyed me though was the forced fanservice which sometimes I think is tiring for them as actors. I do understand that people do wish they get together in real life, but we just have to accept that they both have their own personal lives that we have no business with. They are also doing this only to promote their series further. Imagine you being constantly shipped with someone and having to act that you both like each other, just for fanservice, when you might actually just view them as a friend and nothing more.
Overall, I highly recommend you do watch this, but just after you finish every other BL drama on your list because this will certainly make other ones seem not as good as you'd want them to be.

Since the series is available in Youtube, I already downloaded it in my playlist. I tried watching it the first time and it was kinda normal scenery to me. But I told to myself to watch it since I might like it until the end and it was worth it! This is not a series that needs a bed scene or that too much kissing scenes because it was just pure. It was so pure that even PECKING IN THE LIPS OR THAT SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME OF KISS IS GIVING ME THE BUTTERFLIES! The acting was good and their chemistry was on point. The story really deals with the emotions of some "gays" are facing or the people that fell inlove with their same sex. Especially with P'Arthit, who was really scared with having a relationship with Kongpob since they are both men and he was his senior hazer. It really took a long time for Arthit to realize that he like Kongpob but it was worth it. If you like this series, you will definitely like SOTUS S. Because it deals with the real world where Arthit is now working and how their love continues.

WATCH THIS DRAMA, AND YOU'LL NOT REGRET THIS!

So, I began to watch Sotus with a low expectation thinking it would be just cliche, but for my surprise the story was good, the acting was AMAZING and the characters were so charismatic that years after I watched, I'm still in love with Arthit.
The history is about a student entering the engineering college and dealing with some means veterans, who have the gear they need to gain by following the veterans challenges, one of them (our main protagonist) decide to stand out and deny some orders, the leader of the veterans Arthit, start to look out for this specific student. In the development you discover a lot of things about for that reason all this things are happening and nothing is really what seems to be.
I recommend this dorama por everyone even if you're not used to bl, it's a nice to start your journey in this genre, 'cause is super light, funny and lovely, so please give Sotus a chance I promise it'll gain your heart. And it's a classic.
(Sorry for any grammar error).

I used to read a lot of yaoi mangas and I just entered the Thai BL community this year. I am no drama expert but I have to say that SOTUS was one of my favorite BL dramas of all time. Personally, I liked that this drama focused on real-life problems and the hazing system in universities. For me the hazing was quite harsh but when you keep watching you realize that it's all for a better purpose. My favorite thing about this drama was that no third person came and interfere in their relationship. The main couple had problems that they could resolve by talking . In real life, some couples prefer keeping things to themselves and this drama portrayed it perfectly.
People who found this drama boring should keep 4 things in mind.
1) This drama was produced in 2016 and you can not compare it with the new BL series.
2) One of the first Thai BL series out there.
3)Not all people like showing affection all the time.
4) Love is not defined by kisses and bed scenes.

The main leads were amazing at acting because if you watch their real-life videos. You will notice that Krist(Arthit) is very playful and Singto(Kongpop) is very silent. It still fascinates me how they played such opposite characters. The other actors also did a good job. I also loved the hairdresser(Singto's Manager). If you think that there is no chemistry between leads then you should probably watch their fan meetings. This was one of the dramas where I didn't skip any scene and I give this drama a 10 because it was a masterpiece. I loved everything about this drama and I have rewatched it many times.

One of the best BL series

I watched many bl series but Sotus is still my favorite!! At first I didn’t expect much from
it because I watched the trailer and wasn’t that interested, well i was wrong sotus the series is just great! They casted the actors so well and i just think that if we didn’t have these cast, this series wouldn’t be as entertaining as this one!! This is different from other BL series because sotus doesn’t really have those cute scenes like other series, but what’s different is the plot of this series. It has a mixture of sad and happy moments

Always be my fav series. Must watch series because the story line about love story between P'Arthit& Kongpob are so sweet & about their dreams. A lot of emotions in this series. I'm super happy to see sotus the series because when the series is on air I curious what will happen next ep with their love story & their life. The pd & writer are awesome & I'm really thankful to them because they choose the right couple to be ArthitKongpob. Because of ArthitKongpob, I knew & falling in love with KristSingto. The chemistry of KristSingto are so amazing. They are so comfortable with each other. Beautiful ost from sotus the series. Keep listening to the songs everyday. It's actually hard to explain my feelings about this series. I'm not even sure how to feel myself. But I'll try to be as coherent as possible for those who haven't watched it yet and are reading this review.

I fund SOTUS a great great great great bl drama. The acting was natural and believable, the story was interesting and plausible, the characters were likeable. I don't know why I'm only giving it 8.5 stars. Maybe I wasn't able to feel it as much as some people because I'm a bit younger than the actors and couldn't truly understand some of their experiences. Maybe I was too stressed because I had to pack (my trip was today and I finished the drama right after it). Maybe I simply didn't connect with the actors. I'm not sure why I'm not giving it 10 stars as some of the others but even though this drama was of high quality, both story and production, I, for now, am settling on 8.5 stars. I do want to watch the sequel and the special episode so maybe I will reevaluate it after it cools down. It's weird because when I was watching the first episode I was reeeeeally feeling it but even though the other episodes were great too it lost a little bit of its magic?
Anyways, it is a show that I want to rewatch one day and I'm glad I watched it because everyone seems to mention it every time they talk about BL's and now I know what they mean hahaha.
Oh and the side characters weren't annoying AT ALL. Everyone had their own personality and their own things going on which made me connect with them as well, even though they weren't as present. I wish they had been more developed because they were all very interesting!

Sotus was my first series. I felt the chemistry between Krist and Singto the second they shared the screen. I fell in love with the delicate nature of Kongpob and Arthit's relationship. There was not alot of skinship but through eye contact and accidental touches, their affection was beautifully displayed. Sotus got me hooked on Thai BL series.
I also loved the fact that they portrayed different types of relationships and not only bxb.
The SOTUS system seemed harsh at first but through the harshness of the system, their is a close bond that forms between juniors and seniors which is even depicted between Arthit and his seniors.

I highly recommend this series!
