Parent-child relationships

I enjoyed this episode even more than the second one. It teaches valuable lessons about not expecting children to be perfect. Koji's character was relatable to me, not only because of his love for cats but also because he carried the burden of his father's expectations. His father decided everything for him and considered him the perfect son. Koji had never made his own decisions until he chose a cat. From there, his character developed, and things escalated. To cope with his pain, he bullied his younger friend at school, breaking away from the image set by his father. When his father confronted him about bullying his friend, Koji's response, "You made me do it," was perfect! Later, Koji exploded, pushed his father, and started hitting him. I completely understand this angry outburst, fueled by suppressing so many emotions. At that moment, I don't think Koji could be considered a "bad" person. Everyone reaches their limit and does things they regret. For this event, both he and his parents are at fault. Afterward, Koji's relationship with his father improves, and they learn to understand each other and be honest about their emotions. It was simply perfect! This episode shows a situation that is common in Japan and everywhere. I have been in similar situations with my parent, and that's why I appreciate Koji and how imperfect he is compared to his father's previous perception of him. In conclusion, parents should not set a fixed frame for their children. It's good for them to be educated, kind, compassionate, etc., but they have other interests too. Both parents and children need to be honest with each other and share what they think and how they feel about a given situation. And together, they should come to a solution for a particular problem!
