The Gifted (2018)

So, this was my first time watching a thai drama and I picked this one cause I'm a sucker for supernatural. And honestly i quite liked it.

There were a lot of things I really enjoyed.

-The story line - how special students managed to pull through the troubles they are having and how having the quality that makes them stand out can also be the reason why they are put on a pedestal or even tear them down. Really brings out the motto, that everything has it's pros and cons. I also really like how they bring in the normal school life with the usual scenarios that are brought to life so the viewers can actually feel and relate to this despite it having supernatural undertones.

I like how the mc becomes nothing to a something but how he still holds on to a strong sense of justice, not letting the power get to him. It also depicts how a leader should be. Not a dictator who does as he wishes but some one who pulls the group together and helps them to stick together as a team. No man left behind. I like how he truly cares for his friends.

I liked the mc's friend's weak punch lines which made the level of seriousness bar a bit lower. And i really like how the villain tries to turn into hero. in fact the growth of each character is seen in each episode, yet the story line does not forget who the main character is, which i found was a very clever way to get the story moving.

However, I would have really liked it if they should the mc's back story as well. As to how he reached each point of his life. so maybe the viewers would be able to justify his actions. Similarly, if noticed only a few of the students in the class had their back stories shined upon and the rest were kinda neglected. Or better way to word it, is that even each student had one episode dedicated to them, they were left and the focus was not back on them again except for subtle hints. It would have been better if they were given a little more attention in other episodes than their own.

I even loved that no CGI or special effects were required to do the supernatural effects (because usually it just feels so fake) and that made it all the more real. Honestly even I might have the ability to do something supernatural like that.

Also there were a few times where I felt the points the drama wanted to get across were not well reached. Even the end of the end, had quite a lot of open ended questions and to me felt a little rushed. Even though it seemed like something failed and there was still hope, i really felt some thing should have ended on a slightly happier not. I get that this was done to build the excitement for the next season but leaving too many questions also leaves people unsatisfied.

- Acting & Cast - Even the acting and cast were really good as I could feel the emotions permeating through the drama. Which for me is very rare to feel in a live action. I could feel each pain the characters feel and could also feel pity for some and understood them. so that meant the acting had to be great and i felt each actor who acted for their part matched very well. The emotions were so clearly seen that it hit hard and I was glad to feel it or I wouldn't have continued with the series.

Over all, this drama was a really good and worth it watch for me. But I would give it a slightly lower score. Only because Im a sucker for supernatural but not for sci-fi.

Dropped After Watching 2.5 Episodes...

Seeing the new episode of The Gifted Graduation being released on GMMTV's YouTube channel, I was reminded about its prequel, The Gifted, which has received a lot of praise from viewers, but I never was interested due to it not being a BL. However, I decided to give it a chance because I wanted to see what all the hype and praise was about and I wanted a new series to follow while it airs. After watching 1.5 episodes, I was a bit disappointed. Though the performances and production were okay, the writing wasn't particularly good as the story had a lot of illogical plot points and felt a bit too simple in a way, as if was the writer was glossing over the story rather than digging deep into it. I decided to drop the series after watching 2.5 episodes. I found the series to be boring and I didn't enjoy the story. It just wasn't my cup of tea persay.

Best recommended dramas in thailand

Cocok banget kalo drama ini dapet rating tertinggi dari drama drama yang lain, ga harus tentang percintaan , tiap episodenya bikin penasaran apa kelanjutan ceritanya dan membuat penonton menebak nebak lanjutannya ,bahkan cerita per episode sering diluar prediksi , di episode 4 sempet bingung kenapa cerita "gifted member no.05" berenti disitu aja malah nyeritain yang lain ( potensi anggota lain ) , namun ternyata di episode akhir justru gifted no: 05 tersebut plot twist dari drama ini , episode 13 bener bener bikin penasaran termasuk di ending , ingatan pong dihilangkan, dia kembali jadi siswa kelas 4-8 , namun disitu teka teki cerita ini muncul lagi, pong masuk ke ruang komputer ingatannya kembali, saat dia masuk ke ruang the gifted , wave bilang "sudah siap" dannn.... Tamaatt , penasaran banget sama kelanjutan mereka . Bener bener berharap tahun 2020 dibuatkan lanjutan the gifted 2 , recomended paraaahhh

Être doté d’une capacité « hors du commun » te permettra-t-il d’être heureux ?

J’ai regardé ce drama peu de temps après avoir vu « Blacklist ». C’est pourquoi, je m’attendais à un départ rapide de l’histoire… Ce qui n’est pas arrivé, j’ai donc failli abandonner au cours du 3ème épisode. Cependant, Je lui ai laissé une chance et finalement, durant l’épisode 4, j’ai fini par accrocher. (Comme quoi, il ne faut jamais désespérer XD !)

Alors de quoi parle ce drama :
Une école élitiste pratiquant une scission des classes de 8 à 1 afin de donner un « grade » aux étudiants. Ce grade détermine comment sera ta vie au sein de l’établissement. (Le niveau 8 étant, bien entendu, le plus bas.)
Au milieu de cette guerre, pour arriver au plus haut niveau, se trouve les « Gifted » considérés comme plus haut que toutes les classes… Ceux-ci possèdent, aux yeux de leurs camarades, tous ce qu’ils pourraient désirer… Mais que se passe-t-il réellement dernier les murs du « Gifted » ?

Thématiques principales de l’histoire :
• Un placement scolaire géré comme un système de « Castes » : Cette histoire est centrée sur un système de castes, les avantages étant plus important pour les personnes se trouvant dans les catégories les plus élevées. (Ce système cause des problèmes fondamentaux : les étudiants n’ont pas les mêmes droits, une disparité sociale évidente, une forme de violence psychologique & morale envers les élèves se trouvant dans les classes les plus basses…)
• La corruption : Le directeur n’a pour but que de favoriser une catégorie d’étudiants (les Gifted) afin d’obtenir de plus en plus de subsides et d’être reconnu comme étant à la tête de personnes « vouées » à diriger le monde.
• Des capacités hors du commun : Les Gifted sont des personnes possédants des sens plus « aiguisés » que le commun des mortels. (On parle d’ailleurs d’une approche scientifique dans l’histoire afin d’améliorer leur compétence de base.)

Malgré un démarrage difficile lors de mon visionnage, j’ai fini par apprécier suivre cette bande d’étudiants & de découvrir leurs joies & leurs peines mais également les travers de leurs différentes capacités. Cependant, je dois avouer avoir eu du mal avec la fin ^^’. (Le fait qu’elle soit ouverte n’est pas vraiment un problème quand on sait qu’il y a une saison 2 mais au départ, je comptais m’arrêter après la première x’D)

CAPOLAVORO

C'è poco da dire, per me The Gifted è un capolavoro, difficilmente voto 10 in tutte le categorie, ma qui non ho potuto farne a meno. E' una serie bellissima, interessante, diversa dai soliti drama thailandesi che si vedono in giro, la recitazione è qualcosa di spettacolare, il cast è davvero stellare e, per quanto mi riguarda, ci sono due degli attori che considero più bravi in assoluto, ovvero Gun Atthaphan e Nanon Korapat. Sono davvero ad un livello indescrivibile, ma questo non vuol dire che il resto del cast sia da meno, ho amato la recitazione di tutti, ti fanno davvero empatizzare con i personaggi.
Serie davvero meravigliosa, diciamo che è uno dei miei comfort drama e ogni tanto torno a riguardarlo perché ne sento la mancanza.

Metáfora da sociedade tailandesa sim ou com certeza?

The Gifted pra mim foi uma grata surpresa. Primeiro pq meu gênero prioritário é o BL desde sempre, então outros gêneros sempre ficam em segundo plano. Comecei a assistir justamente pelo elenco, que eu ja conhecia de várias séries BL, como Gun, Sing, Chimon, Fiat, e também já tinha virado fã do Nanom depois de ter visto a série Blacklist. Desde o ano de 2017. quando 2 moons the series ganhou visibilidade internacional e chamou atenção para a Tailândia, percebe-se um movimento por parte das grandes empresas, como a GMMTV, em produzir conteúdos que fossem vendáveis para o exterior, e mais uma vez eles acertaram com essa série.

O enredo dessa série é surpreendente de uma forma, que não é possível prever o que vem a seguir, que é bom ou mau, de forma gradual vc vai sendo preso numa rede, a atuação dos atores é muito boa. Cada personagem tem uma construção diferente. Todos tem caráteres, motivações e vidas muito distintas, e a série consegue mostrar um pouco do que formou cada um deles. Achei que os potenciais de cada um foram bem escolhidos, mesmo sendo fantasia, não parecia ser algo forçado.

O sistema da escola, embora seja obviamente fantástico, é tão bem construído que em certos momentos me peguei acreditando ser uma situação possível na vida real. Na minha opinião, é uma crítica velada ao sistema escolar e até mesmo social do país, hoje em dia essa críticas aparecem mais abertamente, mas em 2018 não era tão fácil assim jogar isso em rede nacional.

Se esperei os meninos se pegarem? Óbvio! Mas sinceramente não fez falta esse enredo de romance, inclusive não acho que faria diferença se o personagem do Gun fosse apenas amigo ao invés de namorado da mocinha linda do grupo.

A ost é boa, a atuação fantástica, fotografia nem se fala. Não tem o que dizer, tudo muito bom. Assistam!

Kekuatan Super ?!

Ini merupakan series non-bL thailand yang aku tonton sampai selesai, karena memiliki cerita yang menarik. Secara garis besar series ini menceritakan Pang yang merupakan siswa biasa yang tiba-tiba masuk ke kelas berbakat setelah mengikuti sebuah test, padahal temannya yang lebih pintar tidak berhasil lolos ; temannya menjadi iri dan membuat Pang jauh dengannya. Setelah masuk di hari pertama kelas berbakat, Pang mulai menyadari bahwa yang dimaksud kelas berbakat adalah kelas dengan siswa-siswi berkemampuan khusus yang tidak alami ; salah satu kemampuan siswa di kelas berbakat tersebut adalah pengendalian gelombang dan listrik pada perangkat komputer dan alat elektronik lainnya secara magis hanya dengan sentuhan tangan dan pemusatan pikiran. Overall series ini sangat bagus dan menegangkan, selain itu effect CGI yang ditampilkan secara umum sangat natural, tidak dibuat-buat karena bakat para siswa pada umumnya tidak membutuhkan effect CGI yang rumit, selain itu bakat yang ditampilkan pada series ini cukup masuk akal dan tidak terlalu mengada-ngada ; nuansa series ini benar-benar khas dengan saturasi warna yang rendah membuatnya seperti film horror namun ini bukan tentang film horror- walaupun seperti itu namun series ini sangat enak di mata. Series ini mempunyai banyak sekali misteri yang membuat kita semakin lama menonton semakin penasaran. keren!

O despretencioso drama que me salvou da ressaca

Me senti nostálgica assistindo esse drama, a história me lembrou muito aquele desenho X-men Evolution que passava no SBT antigamente.

Sou dorameira há um bom tempo, mas nunca dei muito bola pra dramas da Tailândia, eles nunca tem vez nas minhas imensas listas de pretensões futuras. Acredite se quiser esse foi o primeiro que assisti, e tenho que confessar que não tinha qualquer expectativa sobre ele, mas quando menos esperei já estava tão envolvida na trama que terminei em um piscar de olhos.

Estava passando por uma terrível ressaca doramática e foi The Gifted que me salvou dessa imensa maré de azar. Tinha muito tempo que não sentia essa vontade de maratonar um drama como se não houvesse o amanhã, então só me restaram boas recordações desse enredo.

Ao contrário de outros gêneros que assisto corriqueiramente, a vibe certa para assistir dramas de fantasia só aparece em poucos meses do ano, e esse drama caiu no meu colo justamente na época certa.

Finalizo dizendo que foi bem interessante acompanhar o desenvolvimento desses personagens enquanto descobrem e aprimoram seus poderes e com certeza recomendaria esse drama a alguém.
