Best Ever ... Hospital Playlist 1 and 2 season.

By far the most charismatic Korean series I’ve ever watched.

The story revolves on 5 doctors in their 40s who met during their medical school years — where they eventually ended up becoming best friends. This is not your typical Korean series, as it is unique and different from the usual Korean shows you’re used to watching — it’s fresh, a new concept with no heavy dramas, no complicated plots — its like a slice of life, a realistic life of medical practitioners, their daily struggles inside the hospital walls, and their personal lives.

This’ll make you laugh, cry, laugh, and cry. Over and over again. I recommend it if you want light-hearted entertainment. This might not be as flashy as other kdramas may be, however you’ll be touched watching the doctors go about on their lifestyles.

5/5

Best ever!!!

Easy watching, story about friends and how they help each other, low stress

Life is too short for stressful drama. Why spend all that time watching and be stressed? Don’t our lives already provide enough of that?

Summary of the series:
- Light hearted about friendship; some romance
- Likable characters and on how they go beyond to help people as doctors
- No real villains, just annoying family members to jump the gun and blasting doctors who is caring for their family
- Great chemistry on the MLs and FL, they are like Korean Doctors' version of Friends
- ending was not done succinctly, but can show all the couples together for karaoke or doing something together

By far one of my favs, its light hearted yet heart warming. At occasions it may bring some tears but not because of sadness, but for heartfelt moments.

If you are looking for gratuitous stress/drama, frequent miscommunications, abrupt ending, insipid side stories, then this is not for you.

While watching S1 I felt very bored, maybe because of the long durations, in about 1 month I just continued my S2, for S2 I felt better than S1, maybe because I was used to the story of hospital playlists dramas, and I really enjoyed their band's songs.

The ending is vague, like other netflix drama endings, making a finished ending, but if they want to continue S3 there is also a possibility to make it, open ending? ,, S1 ending and S2 opening is connecting, different with S2 ending,it more like open ending

To be honest, I didn't expect S3, because shooting the film would take more time, while I watched S1 and S2 only one month apart, I almost forgot the name of the character, because there are so many

When watching S1 I didn't understand the storyline, when S2 just understood, that this drama is focused on friendship of the lead cast, and band together, the patients are just guests, and not too focused

I enjoy the songs they play when they play a band, most of them are very good, with various sensations, and when they are in a band, I am grateful that in their friendship there is only one woman HAHAHA

Fun time

I like the fact that it does not have triangles like usual.
It is funny overall and it has some super funny moments.
I like the cinematography and camera angles.
The acting is good.
The story is decent but it's slow-paced which is not bad. You can take your time.

It is a usual 16 episodes show since every episode is 1 hour and 30 minutes.

The negative sides in my opinion:

One thing I don't like is how the show, not the hospital itself, is male-centered, for the sake of the female audience of course, but I had serious problems connecting with this one. And the fact that the main female character in her 40s is matched with a man who has a child.

Also, the fact that the doctors being super good doctors is an extreme exaggeration as I haven't seen a doctor like them this devoted and never heard of one. We can ignore the fact that they are actors and so they all are very energetic with all the shifts in the show but they had to depict the fatigue a little better and more believable as we see in reality.

I don't like the cheesy romance and kissing scenes specifically what's going on between Yoo Yeon Seok and his girlfriend. I like it to be more mature so I can say Yang Suk Hyung is closer. But this is a personal interest.

One thing I also find annoying is how it's only focused on the mother's concern for the child and the father's involvement is very little in the process that conveys a feeling that they don't have the responsibility to care or be there and women should be the source of all concerns and sacrifice.

I also don't like how doctors speak childishly to grown-up patients, mostly Yoo Yeon Seok. It's very disturbing to me.

Trying a little hard to be too modest.

The things I liked about this:
1. Lee Ik Jun (Jo Jung Suk)
2. Lee Ik Jun, his child and his quirkiness.
3. Few genuine comedy moments which where mostly by Lee Ik Jun.
4, Couplings of Ik Jun n Song Hwa and Ik Sun n Jun Wan.

The things I hated about this:
1. Actors trying to be too modest.
2. Supporting staff pretending to be too nice and too innocent which actually came off as stupid.
3. Long stretches of unwanted cases.

But what I truly hate is the restriction of MyDramaList's writing a review which has to have minimum 500 characters which I don't have. I don't have anything more to write here for the drama. I think this add up to 500 charcaters.

It may not be as funny as Season 1 but it is definitely more emotional

Ok my initial thoughts on season 2 was that I did not like it much. I had absolutely loved season 1 and had actually binge watched it in 2 days (I started watching when 11 of the episodes had already been released) and then re-watched it several times later. In season 1 I had zero expectations while in season 2 I was expecting many things like the winter garden couple getting married, Ik-jun and Song-hwa getting together, Seok-hyeong reciprocating Min-ha's feelings, Jun-wan and Ik-sun to also get married or atleast engaged, and many more antics from the 2 best duos - Rosa and Jong su and the twins Yun-bok and Hong-do.
While some of these things did come true, some did not. And many loose ends were left without giving us proper closure. Regardless this season got better with each passing episodes. I liked the music in this season much better than season 1. The emotional development of many characters was very good. There were many heart wrenching moments as well especially that last episode which made me almost tear up.
The writers definitely tried to keep the magic of the previous season. This failed in some instances like the first fight scene between Ik-jun and Jun wan or when Ik jun was reciting the exam hall announcement after listening to classical music. It was funny but it seemed like the writers were just repackaging the same old content and giving it to us.
But despite that many scenes were genuinely funny. I'll just list down my most favorite moments -
1. Kim Jun-wan and Do Jae-hak duo (if they weren't both straight and in relationships, I would have shipped them)
2. Chu-Bear couple (Seok-Hyeong and Min-ha were hands down my most anticipated couple this season)
3. Ik-Jun and Song-hwa (unlike many I did not ship them very hard. They were good either way, whether they stay friends or become lovers. But I did like them together in the end)
4. Winter garden couple connecting emotionally (while in season 1 their relationship was highly anticipated, in season 2 it became very evident that while they liked each other for their personalities, they actually did not know much about each other. In this season their personal issues were brought to light especially Gyeo-ul's background and I loved how they tackled the issues together and became even closer)
So yes you should definitely watch this season. While it is not as good as season 1, it is 10 times better than any of the other series currently airing.

A wonderful balm for the soul

During these rough times, what a joy it is to have a sweet, wholesome show like Hospital Playlist. Where Season 1 introduced us to the lovable main cast and their charming sidekicks, Season 2 builds on those relationships to complete a thoughtful and engaging portrayal of hospital daily life. While the main cast's group chemistry and antics continue to anchor the show, some of the more episodic subplots also captured my attention this time around. I liked how this season featured more multi-episode patient arcs, as opposed to one-offs. And I loved getting to know more of the key supporting players, especially Chu Min-ha, Do Jae-hak, Jang Gyeo-ul, and Rosa.

As a slice-of-life drama, HP does have its fair share of slow-burn romances and plotlines, but they never feel dragged-out thanks to the captivating on-screen action and chemistry. Additionally, Season 2 adds many first-rate tunes to its "playlist" by effectively showing off its main cast's impressive vocal talents.

My only main criticism is that the season (and I'm assuming series) finale felt a little unsatisfying. While the main couples had all more or less gotten together, I would've liked to see a more concrete send-off to some of their stories. For instance, there were hints of a showdown between Seok-Hyung's mom and Chu Min-ha that never materialized (possibly for the better--goodness knows the disapproving mother-in-law is a tired K-drama trope) But seeing Seok-Hyung confront his mom in-person would've been nice. And after Jeong-won's incomplete first proposal attempt, I kept waiting for him to propose again, but it never happened; instead the show abruptly sent him and Gyeo-ul to America. (Well, at least they stayed together). Like many lesser shows, when it came to the newer pairings, even HP fell prey to the old pattern of killing a couple's screentime once they get together and hardly showing them actually be a couple.

Oh and this season had entirely too little screentime for U-ju. Where did he go? What a missed opportunity for cuteness.

Nevertheless, overall, Hospital Playlist is excellently executed by the actors, screenwriters, and directors. Not only is HP one of the best K-dramas out there, but watching it is definitely a form of self-care.

As warm, witty and moving as S1

I'll be honest, S1 seemed brighter and had more impact, but S2 is excellent in its own right.
The same great wealth of characters, excellent relationships between the main cast friends, lovers, families and the hospital's patients' too, with their individual stories.
As with S1, I didn't feel it got too overly melancholic, or ridiculous. When people grieved it felt real, not over acted.
The ongoing plot lines of S1 were picked up well and concluded, so I can't imagine there'll be a S3. I shall miss them and the weekly band meets. I will definitely watch both again one day.

This has been a wonderful journey...

I don't really write reviews here, but hosplay is something else, it made me want to put my thoughts out for everyone.
This drama s1 and s2 will always hold a special place in my heart, it is a great drama and I really like this kind of drama where there is no evil character with a genuine wholesome story and realistic characters which warm your heart.
This duo of the director and the writer never disappoints, they always deliver quality content, I have watched all their dramas and I love them all, will always keep an eye whenever they collaborate again. They always make us feel close to the characters and tug at our heartstrings through their story, in all the episodes I think I teared up a little, had butterflies in my stomach, laughed like a maniac, felt nervous, etc. It really takes me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Every single episode is like a movie (even in length) and I love that, it's like I watched a movie with a lot of parts, I saw character growth, story growth, learned a lot of stuff.
Idk what more I can say, I have a lot on my mind but I can't seem to organize them properly to write lol.
All in all, this was a great ride and I enjoyed every bit of it, wouldn't mind getting more from them (s3) but that seems unnecessary as most of the story is tied up and I would not want the story quality to go downhill, but still, if they do make s3 after few years continuing the story, I would definitely love to watch that.

WONDERFUL!!!! It's the TV version of a hug!

Just finished the series and I want to watch it all over again! Truly brilliant show. It took me a while to get into HP1 as I'd just finished Vincenzo (which ruined Kdrama's for me due to it's brilliance), however with the second season of Hospital playlist impending, I binged the first season.

WOW! What a show.

Season two doesn't disappoint - in fact, it does that rare thing where it's on par, and sometimes better than the original. We see plot lines continue to develop, as do the wonderful friendships and relationships.

That's even before we talk about the OST - wonderful.

Can you tell I love this show? Haha! It's relatable, brilliantly acted, excellent hospital scenes, and all wrapped in this beautiful friendship that would make anyone long for but also feel like we're part of the pack!.

Give your heart a treat and watch this wonderful drama! It really is TV perfection!

The Best

This is the most wholesome drama I have ever watched.

I cried, laughed and smiled. I felt all kind of emotions and it was totally heart warming drama.

I wish I could have such group of friends? For the rest of my life.

I also gained some medical knowledge , patience and got to know many kinds of challenges that outside world is facing everyday.

The actors are fit for the roles and their singing is top notch.

I hope for season 3 with more scenes from main couple but I have not heard about it..

Kudos to Whole team for this masterpiece.

I always comeback and re-watch this
