This movie was highly anticipated by me. Infact i yearned for it. when i started watching it, i thought maybe the second episode would be better but to my dismay... it remained slow paced if not worse. they drag the dialogue for way to long. I assumed it was a technical glitch but all the actors except the plus size chef(who for some reason i feel deserves better time cos he is a great actor without effort... THUMBS UP TO HIM) all dragged their dialogue. i would have let it go because judging with out factors in place like the story time, the cinematography, story, music(a bit) and the actors , it should have be ok. However, this was the height of slow pacing from any movie i have seen

To much STARING? ??‍♂️

Okay, when I first saw the teaser I was excited due to Mark his acting skills are superior, and I kinda like their chemistry. So i was excited when the first episode aired I kinda get it ? the whole show will be slow-burner (Slow burner are not my favorite) but I was like it will get better in a future episode but boy I was wrong the show is the slowest burner I ever watched like this whole show could have been wrapped in total 7 episodes but they don't have much of script or the writer didn't try to add something new in the show so when you don't have a script but you have to make a 12 episodes series then you add RoMaNtic staring, or useless scene for example (Main lead parking his scooter, or random food closeup shots, or just random object's) as for the staring I love that cute and fluffy stuff but it was too much like I was like say something like. And with slow-burner shows, we usually have the side couple to save the show. But this time side couple was like if the main leads are slow so we will be slower than them. ? I was like I am done with it. I begging remaining episode they will say somethings,
As for the acting, both are pretty good actors
Music is good
Cinematography is also good
So let's just hope the series gets better

I EXPECTED TOO MUCH

Trailer made me expect much of this series. Love the photography and production design, the colors, the texture. Especially the provincial scenes. But great photography alone doesn’t make a great movie or series. This one suffered from its dragging pace and lousy dialogues. Lots of shots should have been edited and wouldn’t affect the story flow at all.

Acting is awkward especially from Aek, Vich and even veteran Gameplay. Aue is consistent, and so is the mother and other support characters.

Despite its snail-paced storytelling, I still watched the series, hoping it will get better.

And then EPISODE 8 happened. From the candlelight dinner onwards, everything went downhill. I couldn’t stomach Aek’s character here. Why was he so rude? Why walk out? It was out of character. He is suddenly homophobic! Then, another out-of-character moment came from Aue himself: He kissed Aek! What was he thinking?? Then the running while crying in the rain. Haha!! Laughable. Then stumbling down. More haha moment! Then that hospital scene: Why was Eve suddenly there? And why did Aek call a stranger to be with him – then spend the night with him??? Duh.

And Aek’s coming back to Aue, what was that? No apology at all? He came back as if nothing happened? As if he didn’t punch Aue on the face? As if he didn’t act like a homophobic prick??

Just fast-forwarded the last 3 episode, actually wishing Aue end up with Eve. Haha!!! Yeah, that’s how I hated Aek. To me, he doesn’t deserve Aue at all.

And that finale was more about Vich-Prem story than anything else.

Then that non-kiss between Aue and Aek at the end. Sigh.

Initially, I thought I’d be giving this at least a 9 / 10 rating, but in the end, I gave it a 7. Yeah, I’m kindhearted that way. I know it deserved a much lower rating. But hey, first time producers, so… let’s cut them some slack.

More food videography masterclass than BL

Unlike most Thai BLs, Bite Me moves at much slower pace. I’m fine with slow-moving shows but some scenes were needlessly sluggish.

The biggest problem is that it has an underdeveloped storyline, which is a real shame because the storyline between Aue and Aek got off to a promising start.

The BL gradually lost its way. The show was set up to hint at both Aek and Aue’s development chefs, but this was hardly addressed. The strangest thing was that the introduction of potential antagonists (Mu and Wiphob) also turned out to be quite unnecessary. None of these characters or tensions were properly fleshed out.

Bite Me definitely succeeded as a food videography masterclass because of all the artistic food preparation scenes. But as a BL with proper drama? Nah, not even close.

Storyline Cracks

Story was, on and off, out of logics. Sometimes, it runs too fast and sometimes it gets slow.
Sudden psychopathic reaction of Aek knowing the Aue is into him, which was quite obvious for him, is bothering. And again the sudden rise of Aek love for Aue was illogical.
Overall, the storyline and script wasn't worth attracting the viewers.
However, cast were wholly into the act....worth appreciating...
All the credits for its success (if any) goes to cast.
I suggest that the series could have been plotted better way by increasing the number of episodes.

Watch it for once

So i am bored and i just give it a try just because all 9 episodes are available. Story is good and cast is super handsome and most importantly high quality production deal with real life and similar to real life. I didn't recognize mark because i watched LBC just for perth saint so end of discussion. I found mark and zund very intresting. MC are two different people from different age group diffrent backgrond and belif so it is so intrested. But story progess is very slow and even slower than sotos and sotus s lol. I watched all the episod in 2x speed . i do watch in normal when i need to. But its more like a master chef episod than a love story or BL story. Foods get more screen time than thir love. But lack of romantic introduction led to cherish the little lovely romantic moments much more. Chef aue act as it his first love and aek is young and dealing with his identity , dream ,passion , society pressure and of course his duty towards his mom. I only want to old one take things more seriously and accurately if both MC are shy the progress level will be like bite me series. Though it so real that we can't deny that we don't find perfect people we eventually mad it . I hope every one should watch it once thats it. Evey episod 45 min long is pure torcher. Songs are so beautiful that you want to listen again and again. I really want to see make and zung in another series. All the people in this series are well appreciate the did their work best but i think fault is in the direction team may be.
Let's end my rant here. But I love the plot , actor , music them and everything

Good Start. Disastrous ending. DON'T RECOMMEND.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
initially i was really excited for this bl. what a disappointment. a slow burn disaster. Aek's actions towards Aue made no sense and as an audition it was IMPOSSIBLE sympathize with Aek. ALSO HOW DID AEK AND AUE GET TOGETHER? Aek's confession for Aue was my most awaited scene but WE DIDNT EVEN GET IT? the ending was out of the story line with two people who never even met each other in the previous episodes going on a date out of nowhere. I was really excited about the ending to see where Aek and Aue's relationship will go but all we go were the second leads. All together: a complete disappointment. Do not recommend.
all the best to the actors on their upcoming projects.

The beginning was promising

I liked the first part of the show. Actually pretty much all the way until around episode 8 or 9 when the confession happened. The pace was slow, I agree on that, but I also think that the pace really suited the show itself, so that is not a complained in my book. I do feel however that in the last few episodes they did not have the time to work everything out?

So the conflict starts with the confession, with Aek freaking out. And I do not understand why he is freaking out so much? There are some vague reasons about him thinking Aue is just playing with him, him hurting his arm and thus not able to to compete (which he does than anyway without any problems? so idk about that) and a more general freakout about his own insecurities and fear about his future and disappointing his mum? But it never really gets explored further? Because in episode 10 he is suddenly capable to participate in the contest after all, Aek confesses to his mother that he might have feelings for Aue followed by a montage that I understood as Aek being happy to finally have set his mind right, but in contrast to Aue who is still in the, it's really all over now. But then in the next scene they hug, and everything is suddenly alright? No explanation, no talking. Just boom. And that just really pissed me off. I didn't feel like anything was resolved at all.

Also the relationship between Aek and (I think his name was) Pock, that other junior chef, never gets explored. And we also don't know what actually happened with him and his inheritance from his dad, the whole reason he joined the competition. Except a vague shot of him throwing his trophy on the ground.

Last but not least, the second couple, between Prem and Vich. I was -not- interested in that. I think mostly because, and I'm sorry, but the actor who played Vich wasn't very good in acting. And the actor of Prem wasn't that good either... I just... did not feel any chemistry between those two. I sill gave the acting a 6, because I did like the acting of the rest of the cast? But they just... brought it down.

Music: didn't stay with me, so a generic six does the trick.

Just...No

Honestly, I gave this a higher rating than recommended. I'm here only for Gameplay even though he only had a short part I gave the rest of the cast a chance and boy was it a train wreck! I got bored countless times to the point I would surf social media while this became background noise, but I'm no quitter so I kept with it. The storyline was stretched so bad it was definitely bursting at the seems. It was quite clear most of the cast were new actors so some of it seemed stiff. It's not all about physical contact but I gotta say if that's your fav part to a BL you're gonna be disappointed here. The ending was pretty decent (for someone who kept losing interest in the series). The "side couple" got almost ZERO screen time so I can't even say I enjoyed the side couple. Wouldn't recommend since it was just too bland. I wish the actors luck in the future and hope this was a start to a good career.
Enjoy...

slow

I think the puporse was damm GOOD, but the action........... man........ The purpose of the series is well thought out, It's intriguing, and makes me curious, but in general It's a slow series. The story It's slow, the relationship walk slowly in all the couples but It's so relaxing, fancy, the way they show the Aue story, thoughts, life request patient, they really can do better with more kiss and touchs but they don't do. If you want a super hot with a lot of kisses this show It's not for you, This series It's more focus on feelings, on the way they build they relationships. Of course you will lose your patience with Aue. The actors did a pretty great job, the soundtrack was good too, I miss a lot of good points, they need a good screenplay because this one...... wasn't that good.

Pretty but Pointless.

Not that I look for Booker prize worth story, Oscar worthy acting and the paraphernalia in a drama, least of all a BL show (Many BLs have basic plotlines barring few glorious exceptions) ..But! This drama feels beyond pointless.

The Good:
Ost. (Pretty catchy).
Camera shots. (Beautiful)
Visuals of the actors. (Quite engaging for Optical system.)
Food. (Oh the Divinity!)

The Bad:
Story if they have any. The whole of 7 episodes (that I managed to finish) could have been condensed in less than two.
Chemistry. (Soda left out for a week must have more fizz.)
Etc. (Don't want to be too mean.)

The Ugly:
The staring. (Are we participating in 'who blinks first' contest? If yes.. We have a Winnah!)
The pauses. (One can take a powernap at those prolonged pauses.)
Etc.

Mark is a decent to good actor, going by his earlier projects. But here his Aek must be on trance substance high, for nothing else explains the actions, expressions and dialogue delivery of that character. Ofcourse everything else is slow in the show but this particular character takes it beyond the natural and unnatural slowness.
Aue actor serves looks and acting. Few other characters and actors are interesting but story as a whole is like slow walking on a broken treadmill. I don't mind slow burn but not when the fire is being set up in caveman era style on a wet grass at that.
Or maybe this show can be an excellent aid for breathing exercises. Time yourself at the 'pauses' and the 'staring'. On second thoughts 'Don't'. One might pass out due to sheer oxygen overload.

Don't mean to dissuade anyone from giving this show a try. The show has some goods as opposed to only bads. You might find the pace and the rest calming and enjoyable. I didn't.
A compulsive completist. - But have to drop. Best luck to the cast for better project next time.

Food documentary with a side of Grab ad

to summarize, use 2x or if your lucky have it on 8x. man even mark siwat can't save this.

it wasn't engaging enough and i dare say lack of chemistry from the leads killed the drama the amount of times i tried to finish this drama (with alot of skipping)

if we're going with technicality, this drama has the nicest shots. the foods did look very appetizing and it kimda urged me to try and cook it or look for it but even that cant save the drama like even with the nicest shot it just wasnt translated properly and also the writing? whatever goes on that part. it wasnt even rushed, it was underdeveloped, it felt like it was the first draft of it and they just carried on.

if you like mark siwat, just search for his cuts but if you're new. please just don't waste your time on this.
