where to begin, doono why the movie is named Lady Vengeance, yeah everything is somehow tied to her, but still - for me the real Vengeance was the part with the grieving families - them finding out what really happened to their kidnapped kids - the turmoil, the arguments and conclusion - them taking the law into their own hands, meting out justice - was intense, understandable and relatable... that alone was worth the rest of time that was wasted watching this.the FL aint likeable, the back story with all the women was redundant, most of them didn't play any or just minor roles in her "grand" revenge scheme. the only one that did do sh*t was the last one (who got beat by the fat cannibal lezbo cause she allowed a mosquito to bite her), as she went and got into a relationship with that psycho after getting paroled, keeping tabs on him and thus being close enough to drug him when the time came.
the FL was all over the place - not always justified or logical... like her going to meet-up with her daughter. searching for her - logical, as she needed to make sure she was alive and well. but when u r hell bent on revenge, why drag ur child into it?!? doesn't make sense. finish what you've started, what's more urgent, then go see ur daughter when its safe - no???
the ending also, WTH was that? the kid wakes up coughing on the thick smoke in the room, rushing out in the snow, in bare-feet, her adoptive parents asleep? dead?!??? left unanswered... why?
donno, just weird and not in a good way, even anticlimactic, she got 13yrs for kidnapping a kid - which was the truth, and she may not have physically choked/killed him, but her kidnapping him enabled that psycho to do what he loves best, and her confessing to save her child/baby enabled him to continue kidnapping and killing more children - so she wasn't framed or wrongly sentenced. but she enabled all those families to find justice and peace, so something came out of this movie.

Buen cierre para una gran trilogía.
¡Hola, hola! ¿Cómo andan? Yo contenta porque en esta ocasión toca hablarles de "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance", la última película de "La trilogía de la venganza".Lee Geum Ja se declara culpable, a la edad de veinte años, del secuestro y asesinato de un niño, noticia que despierta el interés de los medios debido a la belleza de la chica. Trece años más tarde, Geum Ja sale de prisión con un plan muy elaborado para vengarse del verdadero responsable.
Bueno, voy a empezar diciendo que esta es mi película menos preferida de las tres, pero esto es más por aspectos subjetivos que por problemas reales del filme. Digamos que no terminé de conectar con la historia ni con sus personajes, pero eso no hace que el producto sea malo... El guion es súper sólido, es una producción muy artística, los actores son todos impecables, la banda sonora es muy buena y un largo etcétera, pero no sé, hubo algo con lo que no hice click.
Si algo me gustó mucho, fue el uso de flashbacks. La protagonista no actúa sola a la hora de cobrar su venganza, y a lo largo de la película nos van mostrando, utilizando flashbacks, cómo es que Geum Ja se hizo querer. Eso sí, presten siempre mucha atención porque con tantos saltos temporales es fácil perderse. Es una película con una carga simbólica muy grande y con mucho humor negro (esto último realmente lo disfruté).
Puede que lo que menos me haya gustado es que es una historia con poco misterio. Prácticamente desde el principio sabemos qué es lo que pasó y quién es el culpable de todo. Lo único que nos queda por descubrir es si la prota podrá llevar a cabo su venganza y cómo será (planteándose muchísimos temas morales en el medio). A ver, es interesante ver para dónde van las cosas y, al final, el punto de la película es bastante claro, pero digamos que sentí flojas algunas cosas.
Sé que todo gira en torno al significado de la venganza, pero eché en falta más profundidad a la hora de hablar del verdadero culpable de todo y tampoco sentí que Geum Ja tuviera mucho desarrollo...
En fin, es una buena película y muchos la aman, pero claramente no es para mí el camino que se eligió a la hora de contar la historia.
