Decent story, could have been executed a bit better

This was in many ways a very beautiful story, or should i say two parallel stories one we know will end with our male lead dyeing. The other a story of youth, young romance and healing of not the worst kind but still healing.

While the time line is all mixed up, the uniforms make sure to keep us from getting confused however once the flashbacks turn in to some kind of talking to a memory the cringe takes over and I found myself rolling my eyes taking a deep breath and just exhaling in frustration.

The overall message is pretty good though and it does not take the issue of suicide or the self guilt afterwords lightly at all which should have upped the score but there where a few to many details that I just could not ignore while setting the score for this.

The acting varies between good and meeh, As Seo Ji Hoon and So Ju Yeons acting is noticably better than the rest of the leading cast. That said the teens are lovely most of the time and there is this little cute gay side couple that share a yellow umbrella in the most subtle but sweet way.

An okay watch, easy to binge as it has short episodes and a decent pacing with the plot.

One more thing the casting of the younger brother was waaay off,
Seo Ji Hoon and Kim Min Kyu look nothing like each other, and do not share the same mimics and can bearaly pass as brothers not to mention look just like his brother... These two are litteraly the guys to disproveonce and for all those ignorant people who say "but they all look the same"

Still, very still

Still + Life, very still life a moment in time captured on film that gives it the feeling of watching a Documentary without the narrating voice that often follows + some fantasy shots here and there to make sure we know it is a movie and not a Documentary.

About 50% of the film is a bunch of half naked working men, eating noodles and singing... concrete surrounded by beautiful views, more concreete and demolishen work spraying even more concrete around.

Not a lot of dialog, not really sure what actually happened as it was really boring... and though there are some powerful scenes here and there they are clouded by the dust from all the demolition work...

The quality of the filming has a nostaligic feel to it that had me thinking it was shot in the 70s and not end of the 1990s-2006...

But it is indeed a still life film

Ambush...

Well... this was slightly confusing a movie where they spared the blood but not the gunshots with very little plot (if any). A movie where we are left to fill in the blanks quite a lot, I guess you could say this is a movie without a mission therefore they had to call it The Mission.

A movie that has you wondering why is a man who has just survived an attempted assassination always i big spaces where he can easily be shot?

I get it that this was pre covid and pre teams but I am sure they could schedule meetings in slightly safer/more controllable settings. But then again we would not have anything to watch now would we*?

An ok watch that was oddly entertaining at times, stupid as ***

Fluff Meets a Mild Depression With Thoughts of Suicide

This drama has a whole lot of eye candy and fluff, but very little substance and makes. no sense what so ever.

One moment it is light, the next dark and then light again but it is the same day... The decisions people make, lines of communication and plot development makes me wonder if the writer of this drama has been stuck at a cabin by the beach with no internet after experiencing amnesia as it is completely detached from reality.

That said, the drama is very pretty, there are a bunch of boys in this drama that seem to be purely there to be looked at or as fillers between censured parts... they have a guitar and I am pretty sure two of them are supposed to be gay but won´t tell us because of the usual Chinese censorship.

I also learned that dessert is a completely valid form of communication... a cold male lead may not be able to use words but if a picture can say 1000 words a dessert will convey 1000 emotions....

The female lead of this drama is really sweet and cute, besides the not making any sense I find both her and the male lead decent to watch. And so are the boys but there are alos a whole lot of annoying side characters and the ususal parants without bonderies... getting on my nerves more than once.

I also like that they try to show people coping with mental illness as capable human beings worthy of love even if they made this a bit to simple and again nothing actually made much sense and this storyline was kind of detached from reality... But still I feel that it is the thought that counts.

So what can I say, this is an okay watch just do not expect anything to make sense or any type of consistency in the characters.

P.s. there is a cute kid in here (who's storyline does not make any sense either)

Nostalgia, music and fluff with a side of cringe...

This could have been a 10 if only I would have loved the male leads character as much as I loved the rest of the characters in this really fun drama.

A drama that has so much good to offer combining nostalgia, with the right to communicate/language, the world sucks (yet again), people with disabilities are human too and being a kid that is different from the rest of the family has it's problem's too... all surrounded by lovely teen spirit, love, music, friendships, and shining, glittery fluff... Just the look on a the young version of them moms face when she sees someone use sign language pretty much had me thinking ok this is it, I love it and it is now my favourite drama...

As I mentioned in the first line this could have been a 10 but then the cringe took over and offered me a few of my pet peeves showed up, I cant really complain about the acting of Ryeoun as Ha Eun Gyeol but his character was mostly fun in the beginning but got on my nerves more and more as the story progressed. His interactions and chemistry with Seol In Ah and
Choi Hyun Wook where however top, top, top. I have been impressed with Choi Hyun Wook for quite a while but this drama made me appreciate him even more as well as completely fall in love with Seol In Ah and Shin Eun Soo.

Definitely a drama I recommend to most, when in need of fluff, fun and more or less predictable twists (some more predictable than others). This drama is an easy binge that offers a little bit of everything and with the exceptions of a few moments of annoying the overall feel to this drama is I want more!

P.s. Rating by episode ep 1-2: 8, 2-14:10, 15-16:7,5 = 9, pretty much follow the male leads character progression and regression... but not only.

Vanilla ice cream with lips on top

This is a drama you watch for the lack of overly annoying characters and lips of Zhao Yi Qin who are covered with an endless amount of lipgloss and ride the thin line between to many close ups and just enough close ups... As this is indeed a male lead that communicates by touch of lip instead of words or wrist grabs. To be clear he still uses a wrist grab or two, it just not his main line of communication, and neither are words of any kind.

Our female lead is pretty lovable, mostly friendly forward and may she may not be the god of intelligence she is not really stupid either. She is pretty strong, talented and has very few moments of pathetic.

Both leads are however extremely child like, the female lead in the way she dresses the male lead in the way he acts. There is not much of a story but some ok friendships, a nice representation of a happily married long time couple but also a bunch of really mistreated animals.

The leads acting is decent but some of the supporting roles seem to need to get an acting lesson or ten.

It is an ok watch when in need of fluff and pretty people and things to look at but otherwise it really is kind of bland... vanilla ice cream made by some person with a hang over who dropped the whole tub of sugar in to the mix without noticing.

Love at first choke, dark, sweet and bloody oh so bloody...

This is a drama that teaches you that there really isn't anything more romantic than the words " I will shoot you if I must" Or something like that a dark chocolate teenage romance with gazes and fluff surrounded by death, blood and suicidal thoughts all woven together with psychopaths and amnesia and a love of self harm.

So really what is not to love?
Well the pacing was kind of meeh, some of the side characters where just a little bit to bullyish in a bad way and slightly over the top. But the leads did a really good job with these roles coming off as both sweet and bad ass at the same time.

The grown ups are pretty decent at being complete psychopaths or kind and not much in-between... There are some really good lines here and there but also a side of cringe and some type of love will save you or make you die for someone else type of eal but nothing in-between. Sometimes this is good others not so much.

All in all a decent short binge

It is not enough to hear you, you must also use words to communicate

This was a poorly dubbed drama about a girl who just wanted to study dubbing and the 30000 obstacles she had along the way and the guy who had everything including a whole lot of red flags.

The female lead in this drama has a whole lot of good lines and is indeed independent lovable yet makes really strange decisions and seems very confused by the guy she adores... The guy of course does not make life easy for her as he really hates using actual verbal words for other than correcting peoples wrongdoing. Dude does however have a one track mind and makes sure the women around him take all the responsibility for more or less everything around him.

We also have one of dramalands most lovely and frustrating side couples that out shine the leads, great friendships and idiot men and evil women. Having seen this drama around the time I saw the western movie Barbie I could not help to compare some of the men with the Kens out there (that is not a good thing).

There are some good very self aware and important lines here and there some unpredictable turns (to the bad, but lovely not to expect them). But mostly a whole lot of things that make no sense at all + a whole lot of odd double standards.

There is also a cute cat and a mom I wanted to hug but also a mom I wished bad things would happen to.

All in all the cat and the gals + nephew made this drama worthy of my time the rest are not the least bit memorable...

Fanservice, fanservice, and more fanservice...

These two episodes are pure cuteness, some predictable drama seemingly there just to make it seem as if there is a plot or story but basically this is just a whole bunch of cheese, kisses and fluff.

Now I am a person who can appreciate fluff, so it still gets an 8 as I do get to see some beloved characters again... watch whatever happened next including some of my beloved bickering, gazes and what not so I am in no way complaining.

However I can not say that these two episodes where watched for a story... So if you enjoyed The Eclipse and feel like reuniting with some of the characters without having to use your mind or feel stuff go for it this will probably be a fun watch. If you are looking for substance re.watch the original story or watch something else.

P.S the kisses felt like the guys where trying to eat each others faces so no dead fish in sight... Also the OST is cute!

This review may contain spoilers

Annoyed me to death and had me pondering if someone would jump off that cliff...

Yes this review is pretty much all spoilers and me b*** about this movie, so brace yourself!

This is the story about the girl who got a heart transplant by peep hole surgery, and moved far, far away from any type of hospital to recover... Despite the surgery the girl seemed to experience shortness of breathe and had magic medicine to help her with that... Immune suppresents, foodlimitations and other stuff did not make the cut.

But not only did the girl receive a heart, she seems to have traded in half of her body as she pretty much got possessed by the ghost of her doner, became delusional and put her self in harms way making me wonder if this story was made by the anti organ donation lobbyist who would ultimately make her jump/fall/ be shoved off the cliff by her doner.

However she does seem to survive, and even though she basically ignores and pretty much cheats on her boyfriend with a ghost, nobody seems to care about that... like at all... preferably because anything goes if you have had surgery. The way she goes between the boys is almost fashinating. It was also pretty obvious that the boy was a ghost.

So yes I spent most of this movie cursing and thinking oh come on wtf... ?I(#€Q€OSF SDF

That said we do get to see some pretty great scenery, a really cute dachshund flashes by and we also get to see dolphins.

So if you shut of your brain and do not mind this type of story go for it the execution is not bad... as for me I bearly made it though.. .but do feel that seeing that dog and dolphin made up for some of the waisted time and annoyance this caused letting me give this a 6and not a 3 which it probably deserves...

Nice little RomCom That Kept Me Wondering

I came for Bae In Hyuk, and got to see just a little bit to little of Bae In Hyuk yet still got to see a really nice short film. It was just so cute, interesting and well left me wanting more, a lot more while still managing to show me a decent story with all the parts one would need, just squished in to short period of time.

I do however have a lot of questions in my mind that could definitely make way for a whole drama. However I guess I will just have to try to answer those in my mind. There is also a lot that seemingly makes 0 sense in the beginning but is oddly enough explained well towards the end which is really kind of refreshing.

All in al this is defiantly a shot film I would like to recommend to all romcom lovers out there who do not mind having to fill in the blanks on their own and could use just a little bit of more fluff in their lives.

Here is where it is at

Honestly just forget the other two parts, just watch this one, short dose of fun flirting they captured pretty much the whole spirit of the show in like 3 minutes or so,.

The boys are sweet, they have a lovely playful dynamic going on, showing kind of relatable first time texting with a person you are interested in. So when in need of just a little bit of flirting in your life this is a good place to go.

If you are looking for some substance, you should probably go look pretty much anywhere else...

Turn off brain then press play

This is a story that tells people that whatever you wanna do with your life do not become a celebrity as the slightest hick up and you may go from riches to rags or have to marry a person you barley know.

The story Itself was not all bad but my oh my how much I wanted to shake some sense in to the leads, the story, the people around them as nothing made any sense at all.

And by nothing I mean nothing, as about 90% of the supposedly grown up characters act like gullible teens, no wait to say teens would be an insult to teens out there as I am sure most teens would be able to make better choices than the people in this show.

The male lead is immature, self centred, controlling and is the cling in clingy... perfect to play with and honestly there is no need for an elaborate plot to mess with him as he basically would fall for anything.

The female lead has her smart moments but she too is so easy to trick it is a miracle that she survived past puberty. She has her moments and is not all bad, but I did hope for the two to get a divorce, preferably on her terms where she travelled the world and either stayed single or got together with basically any human being accept for the male lead of this drama. I would probably have gotten SLS in the beginning of the drama as the female lead experienced som negative character development ( was better in the beginning) and the second male lead was great in every way possible including giving us one hell of a bromance... But I found myself thinking he deserved a lot better, and would make a much better couple with the second female lead. As those two where probably the only 2 characters that made any kind of sense (most of the time), and were definitely more lead material than the leads.

So if you are going to watch this you must first love your cliches even more than I love em and trust me I love my cliches a lot but you must also be able tor completely turn off your brain and look past a whole lot of nonsense so you can focus on the good stuff because yes even if I am mostly complaining about the bad stuff in this drama there are as mentioned a bunch of my beloved cliches, some pretty good kisses and a whole lot of lovely bickering.

A play with conventions done odd

Well this was.... ehem odd...

In this drama we get to follow the thoughts of a girl who has lived long enough to realise that life is just not as lovely as she thought it would be when she was young. Having pretty much no special skills, dreams or hints of aspiration she basically just want to get by and thinks very little of her self.

After a person just lowered her price tag she ends up i a share house with the guy who took her virginity, normally I would not say the word took for this type of situation but this is one of the very rare occasions where it works... She seams to feel a bit awkward/ashamed over the whole situation but somehow winds up with his erectile dysfunctional boner against her but and well it does not get less weird from there...

She also meets Hasse a guy with some other type of dysfunction in need of some TLC and Aki a fangirl who is probably the most together of the bunch...

Together they explore love, relationships, potential marriage ideas, friendship... Ok honestly they become something outside most family and romance conventions... Helping each other grow ( both relocation of blood-flow and spiritually) Refreshing, different and easy to watch. There are of course a bunch of misunderstandings and drama here and there, but hey we could not call it drama if it was to smooth of a glide... (sorry).

So do I recommend it, sure it is short easy to binge and not something you have seen before.

P.S. I also found it odd to see so much stuff from Sweden, something tells me IKEA sponsored this...

Do Bong Soon meets Let me Be Your Knight Light...

Love to hate you or more of a: The other sex (within the gender binary) is bad prove me wrong. Kind of deal as we meet the lawyer who hates the patriarchy more than anything else in the world and the actor who lost faith in women. In a series of slight misunderstandings. Who go from you are pure evil to a whole lot of "you are not like other women"...

Our lawyer is as bad ass as it gets, she is smart, she is strong, she fights for justice by playing the game and pleasuring her body. unapologetically but also pretty much taking the route of toxic masculinity.. if they can do it why shouldn't I instead of just going her own way... I still love her but I do think this could have been done better if they broke the conventions instead of just reversing them. That said there are a whole lot of good lines in here.

Our actors character is a bit more nuanced and is not a gender reversal. He is more of the good guy type (once they clear up stuff), not to strong, not to week, a guy who can not only handle a strong woman but love her for ell her qwerks without needing to save her or want to change her.

The Actors best friend is HOT (it is part of the plot), comfortable with his sexuality. All round human... Easy for all to fall in love with... Making me want to see him in a hate to love romance... maybe with a bit of mystery...

There is also a really cool slightly older actress who pretty much stole the show as well.. And the rest of the characters are ok, not great, not bad, just ok. They do their job well and fill their functions as they should.

The drama is highly bingeable (an afternoon and a morning was all it took), there are also a bunch of fun cliches and you may want to pay attention to the details as nothing is there by accident, as even the show watched on tv may give you a heads up about what is about to happen. Or at least ads some spice.

While the start is a bit meeh, and I fell for the leads best friends before I fell for the leads, the plot does get better and better as the very much cliche plot unfolds. So if you like watching clices and Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (without the super powers, low humour and crime) meets Let Me Be Your Knight but with less chemistry (there of the score 8,5 and not 10) this is a good place to find it.
