Weirdly Fascinating

What's really great about the series is Koyuki and Matsumoto Jun excellent in the roles they played.

As weird as the relationship is between the leads, it was very loving and believable. However, I thought the first 6 episodes were extremely well done but the remaining episodes went down hill for me. Maybe it was at that point I started to wonder what the endgame was going to be. I don't think I actually wanted Sumire-chan and Momo to be together but I didn't want her to be with Hasumi either. I found him lacking something and he was quite obnoxious to me. Sumire's bestfriend was awesome too! I really liked her and the advise she was giving Sumire.

Sumire's boss what too much. His comments were off the chain. I mean I get this was 2003 but his sexism was the most. I mean there was a scene in one episode where Fukishimi told her coworker that it could be sexual harassment b/c he told her her perfume was too strong but their boss was constantly belittling Sumire and women in the workplace and no one batted an eyelash!!! I was just outdone.

Overall it's an enjoyable series to watch once. Will not watch again but I will watch the remake and the Korean movie version.

Tamaki is Still as Adorable as Ever

This unfortunately, was somewhat of a let down. I really enjoyed the series a lot. But this just didn't have the kind of effervescent fun the series delivered each episode. While the cast was still strong, I just didn't like the storylines deviation from the anime and the brother/sister dynamic here was a drag. All in all I'm glad I watched b/c Yamamoto Yusuke and Kawaguchi Haruna are worth watching it at least once for. It does make me wish there had been another movie made or a series reboot done.

Oldie but Goodie

This is a really great show from the late 90's. I'm not even sure how I stumbled upon it but I am so glad I did.

I loved almost everything about this series. Very realistic portrayal of left behind youth who have to fend for themselves when parents and society decide to give up on them. The lead actor Domoto Tsuyoshi was fantastic as Ryuu as was Kamikawa Takaya as Haruna and I can't leave out Megumi Okina as Akane. Even the supporting cast is phenomenal. I was prejudging characters who ended up making me love them( Toshi).

This series had me on an emotional rollercoaster. My heart was breaking for Ryuu and Sawaki. Sawaki was such a tragic, well meaning guy who never fully recovered after having his heart broken by the only person he has ever loved. While I didn't love everything that happened in the story; overall it was a great drama and I highly recommend. I would not rewatch b/c that's not my jam. So even though I won't rewatch' I gave rewatch value an 8. The opening theme song is beautiful and I liked the closing theme song as well. They both fit perfectly with the storyline. The last episode was a bit overly dramatic bit I think that was the only way to get the resolutions the characters needed.

I also really loved they fact the everyone isn't so damn good looking. I mean nowadays you watch a drama and everyone's a f**king model. I did have a huge crush on Ando Masanobu and Yoshizawa Hisashi.

BTS Fun

This was a fun show to watch. New and old fans alike will enjoy. This is the guys first trip where they had to do do things on their own (all the while being filmed). I laughed and had teary eye moments especially when RM couldn't stay on the last few day days of the trip. LMAO when J-hope's way to avoid pictures with fans and randos is to say "important business"! Loved when V got lost and instead of panicking he just enjoyed the place he was in. I stan V and one of the things I love about him is his ability to just go with the flow. I love how Jimin lost his bag and almost lost it again. Being responsible for your traveling gear and documents is huge! I loved when they went to the sauna in Finland and made the bet to jump in the cold water and Suga was like I hate cold water and of course had to get in.

I loved that it was a vacation where they got to have fun and all the reflection they had where they expressed the joy and appreciation for being able to go and all the people who usually take care of them when they travel.

I loved all the dancing and being silly and just being together. All the pranks they pulled and tried to pull on each other. Good show!

For the BTS Stans of the World

As a new BTS fan I am glad I found and watched this series. There are some definite cringe moments like another reviewer wrote but overall it's a genuinely good show about their first trip to America. Coolie got on my nerves but I loved how Warren G was with them. I especially loved their version of Regulate and J-Hope and Jin's verse actually should have won that round but didn't. I also DID NOT know that JK could sing like. Their rendition of "Oh Happy Day" took me to church and that harmonizing with Tae! Loved it. That ending concert was a nice wrap to 2 weeks in the US. "Started from the bottom now we HERE!!!

Hot Guys and Hot Ramen

Jeong Il Woo as Cha Chi Soo was the best. I loved him from beginning to end as the entitled, spoiled and obnoxious brat to the man falling in love and being forced to go to the army. I loved the way his clothes fit him so perfectly. The cast was really great together, really good chemistry between everyone. Even though Eun Bi got on my nerves I did like her. I felt like her character really was trying to be herself and not pretending that she didn't have feelings for the rich boy just because he's rich. I was also glad that Cha Chi Soo's father was really only trying to save him from heartache and not saying Eun Bi wasn't good enough for him.

What's terrible about the whole series is episode 16 is horrible. Anti-climatic and no real fantasy ending that I like. It really wasn't even a real romcom ending!!. Park Min Woo as Ba Eul was hysterical and great comic relief. Didn't really understand what he saw in Yoon So Yi!

What I loved is that there were so many insanely funny and ridiculous moments that you can't help but laugh and love this show. Episode 6 in particular hand me on the floor laughing. The first 15 minutes of that episode is pure comedy gold.

Cha Chi Soo was so spoiled he cried about not havening a bidet in the bathroom. JIW was so funny in this series I was living for every scene he was in.

Oof!

Typical dumb FL in love with the uber smart, rich, jerk ML who won't pay her any attention unless some other boy likes or wants her.

Hani is the dumbest FL character I have watched this year and her sheer ignorance and immaturity made me hate her the whole time. There's not even any real development of her character until the last episode where she finally wants something for herself. This is the 1st show I watched with Jung So Min and she's really good as Hani and at first I didn't mind how dumb the character was b/c the actress was so good but by the 8th episode it was just the same episode over and over.

The positives of the series are the parents. Hani's father was a good father and Seungjo's parents who typically would be portrayed as the evil rich people were relatively good and generous. Even though eventaully, Seungjo's mother became just as unbearable as Hani.

Overall the series is less than average. The cast including the supporting cast is really good though.

Best thing about this series is the music guest

First off let me start off by saying I misinterpreted the synopsis. I thought this was going to be a murder mystery. That's on me. It's a slice of life series and that not a bad thing but the ML life is just so meh!

Sadly, what I watched was unbearably boring. I watched because of Abe Hiroshi and he is great here as M, the aloof and content with his life writer whose girlfriend leaves without a word to him. Mind you, they've been together for 5 years. I thought the 1st episode was good and the characters interesting but even that could not stop me from heavy eyelids watching each episode. These 30 minute episodes seemed like they were 90 minutes long and everything seemed like it was dragging. Literally was falling asleep on each ep!!

The best thing about this series is the musical guest at the end of each episode. I heard new music from several arstist I'd liked to hear more from like Tendre, Tavito Nanao, Toko Miura and Mitsume.

Slow & Boring

This was a disappointment for me. It was slow and boring.

The acting is stellar. Especially from Lee Moo Saeng. He played SML Jin Seok and I felt him in all of his scenes. He emotes very well. I was more interested in his and 2FL Chan Young's story than the main relationship.

At any rate, I wanted to watch this drama b/c I thought it was an ensemble piece about older, female friendship but it's just a sob story about FL Mi-Jo and her anxiety. The writers put more weight on that than a woman dying of pancreatric cancer. And yes I get that Son Ye Jin was the star and the series was made for her but this had so much wasted potential in the friendship arena. Plus they almost competely left out the 3rd FL Kim Ji Hyun who played Joo Hee in most instances where friendship matters.

I wanted something more adult honestly, sometimes the Mi-Jo character behaved like she was still in her 20s and it was annoying.

Good lord another typical Kdrama romcom with stupid relationship actions. This had one of my most hated tropes...The forced relationship b/c the other person will harm themselves. Jeez. They never even explain why the female character in that relationships even likes the guy she's willing to kill herself for.

Anyway, the best part of this series is Wang Bit Na as Ji Seung and Lee Kyu Han as Jae Eun. Their relationship was so refreshing. I enjoyed them getting to know each other and falling in love. I also loved young actress Park So Yi. So expressive and had the brightest, biggest eyes. The other thing the series did well was the portrayal of the relationship between ML, his sisters and his niece.

This show is nothing to write home about but Park Seo Joon is excellent here as the ML. His charisma is off the charts and there are scenes in this series that would make anyone fall in love with him.

Unfortunately, the series was below average. It's another romcom with misunderstanding after misunderstanding. Then the reappearnce of the ex-fiance that really ruined the show for me. PSJ and Uhm Jung Hwa really do have good chemistry though.

I did like the bromance between Dong Ha and Su Cheol. Some genuinely funny and adorable scenes between the 2 of them! I also liked the relationship between the Boss and Ji Yeon's mother.

Practically Perfect in Every Way

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS DRAMA.

FL and ML were perfect and so was the supporting cast!!. I haven't binged a show in a minute and this was worth me being tired tomorrow morning at work. I initially watched b/c of Kim Ji Hoon and he is outstanding here as Do Won but I fell in love with Yoo Teo, as Kang Ho. Have never seen him in anything else but he was so good and his smile is to die for!!

Mi Ran is hilarious and played brilliantly by Kim Ok Bin. I liked that she's tough and knows what she wants out of a relationship.

The best part of this romcom aside from the cast is that there are some genuinely, laugh out loud funny scenes in almost every episode. I loved that the ADULTS behaved like adults in a relationship and things were not awkward when they confessed to each other.

There were just so many things done right in this drama. Also, loved the fact that it's sweet, simple and 10 episodes.

Friendship FTW

This is just a really nice docuseries about spending time with friends and making moments count when you do. The fact that all of these Hallyu stars who happen to be friends were able to take some time and hang out with each other and enjoy each other's company was sweet and fun to watch.

I love their friendship vibes so much and I loved how they talked about how they met and got close. I loved the conversation they had about some of the struggles they were going thru and how Peakboy said that Seojun gave him really encouraging words when he was struggling mentally. "There's a time for a flower to bloom..." Seojun also helping V when they were on the set of Hwarang makes you love him all the more.

So glad they were able to do this and spend time with each other. So important to keep in contact with the people you love and care about even for short periods of time. I hope they get to do the US camping thing or the backpacking thing they discussed even if it's not for the consumption of the masses.

This series honestly, just lifted my spirits and made me happy watching.

Utterly Disappointing

I was looking for a light, quick, easy binge. I found series this b/c of YouTube video this weekend with cute boys as the backdrop (that's my weakness), so I wanted to watch, plus the 10 min per ep run time was not too bad.

However, this show went from breezily fun and interesting to just plain stupid in a matter of 8 episodes. The last 2 episode could have been left out completely. Actually, quite annoyed b/c I really enjoyed the first 8-10 episodes for the most part but the ML, Meo Ru became too stupid to live. He's the first guy I've ever had to say that about. and everything else went downhill fast. Nothing but nonsensical dialogue and behavior from the entire cast.

No real character development.

No real story development.

I am utterly disappointed.

JUST WOW!!

This is one of the best behind the scenes docuseries I have ever watched. It made me love the band all the more. Cleary I am a fan of BTS but I don't consider myself ARMY but I see why so many people love and appreaciate them! Even someone who knows nothing about them will enjoy this tremendously.

The vulnerability of the group and their work ethinc and struggles during their first world tour was facinanting. I mean JK struggling to breath in Chile, RM injuring his foot, V and Jin getting into a heated argument and then having the maturity to work it out and not let it fester; I was in awe. Jimin not being able to perform fully during the final Seoul concert, heartbreaking. V struggling as he was also workng or finishing up Hwarang right before the world tour maddening but them coming together inspiring.

I really just loved evrthing about it. It was a refreshing look at the bands struggles and triumphs. Friendship and brotherhood. I was genuinely moved by the series.
