Like the Japanese Ballad of Narayama, Kim Ki-young’s Goryeojang (???) envisages a world in which the old are expected to sacrifice themselves for the young, but unlike either Keisuke Kinoshita or the later Shohei Imamura, Kim struggles to find nobility in adherence to such a cruel and inhuman tradition.

Dystopian thriller about fallen people, marginals and debtors who can't live anymore in the mainstream society.

The ML is drown in debts and can't pay the loansharks. He's rescued by a man who offers him to live in in a mysterious town where they can live without worries. He discovers he can't return to his previous life and that he's trapped in the city.

Lot's of similarities in the way they arrive to the city/ island, the way they are controlled by microchips in their heads, the tasks they have to perform in the island/ city that undermines or destroy their own sense of morality, ethics and self-esteem.

Both show how certain organisations takes advantage of getting rid of all the people that have no productive value in mainstream society.

I add this drama because of the topic of babies raised by others that maybe family or not. In My Lucky Star, the FL was raised by his uncle because her parents died.
His ex-boyfriend betrayed her: he got married and his wife gave birth to a baby girl. The wife died and the ex-boyfriend became a widower. The baby needed a heart transplant and he committed a crime to get money. He went to jail and the FL decides to raises her as her daughter.
