An Emotional & Not Your Typical Love Story

First of all, the first few episodes were so good!!! Great humorous scenes that were funny naturally and not forced, but there were also amazingly played out emotional scenes. AN EMOTIONAL ROLLARCOASTER!! Jang Nara is really great at acting out the emotional scenes! I cried so many times already T_T The episodes just fly by each time! Not only that, the OST released are so goooodd too!! I have a good feeling about this drama!!! I hope it turns out great as it airs!! However, it did turn a bit cheesy after the main couple got together which is why I lowered the rating. It also got boring after the first four episodes, so I also had to decrease rating for that. But the ending was wrapped up neatly without any loose ends (as far as I know).

But, the good things are:
1. Excellent acting (Jang Nara is no joke)
2. Episodes highlight different experiences woman/men face that are not seen much in other dramas
3. Superb OST (Kim Sungkyu's song was just T_T)
4. The humor
5. A strong foundation for the script and plotline

I would recommend this for anyone looking for a drama with a love story not like your typical kdrama.

AN EYE OPENER FOR VIEWERS

I really love this drama of Jang Na Ra this is the only drama of her that I watched and completed it for a minimum of time. This is an eye opener for all of the people who want to watch this drama especially if you want to have kids and to those kdrama fans who are already a mom who can relate to this drama. It is completely difficult for woman who wants to have a kid but having problems in their body. That moment the female lead needs to get pregnant in a few months but her partner cannot reproduce was really a difficult obstacle for the lovebirds

Moral values!!!

This is my first time to write a review so im gonna make it short!! ^^
Story:
This story is perfect for someone who wish to give up on something.
Acting/cast:
As you guys know jang nara is drama queen :) so her acting was flawless. This is my first time to watch go joon's acting. When i saw the comments, many people decided to put this drama on their lowest drama list because of go joon's tsundere look but when you watch this drama you will got to see many of his cute sides ^^. All the other casts also perfect in their acting, no one else can replace their roles.
Music:
All the osts is catching. Moreover, soyou's voice can melt your heart ( my favourite is "goodbye" and "beautiful")
Rewatch values:
Trust me, you wont bored even if you rewatch this drama for 50 times.
Overall:
This drama is good :3
Moral value: never gives up on you dreams even if the possibility is 1%!! Always believe in miracles. Love ya guys !!

Jang Nara dramas are the best.

If you're looking for a mature and serious content of kdrama this is one for you. Mas makarelate ang mga singles like me who is nearly 40's na. I was so attached in this drama I really love the storyline and ang daming tapon na mga hugot lines na talagang tagos. It is a heartwarming drama alam na basta JANG NARA drama maganda talaga, but what surprises me is GO JOON oppa I fell for his charms here, very typical romantic guy malaki ang katawan pero pag nainlove lulambot din pala, ang cute nya kiligin hehehe 😁.

Jang Ha Ri and Han I Sang shared the same pain, very complicated as the one wants to have a baby while the one is having difficulty in having a baby. They both know that if they stay together they wont achieve the happiness that they wanted but because their love is stronger they decided to be in each others arms and both face this challenge in their relationship. Still love is stronger for them. In this drama as a viewer you will also hope and pray that they both find their own happiness in each other with or without a baby. But I tell you they both have a Happy Ending in the end. 😁

Overall you will laugh and cry in this drama.

From time to time I enjoy my mature dramas... especially with jang Nara there are a few. I last saw her in VIP. Also great, but it hit differently in the feels.
Here she is a mature woman, that is looking for a sperm Donor coz she single af but is running out of time to conceive children for medical reasons.
I think this topic is important in societies where marriage is not the ultimate goal in life anymore, touching on rights of single people and the impact of decisions on children etc. However this drama is so upbeat and cute! Every episode so far was amazing . I laughed, I cringed, but in a good way. Ofc I don’t know what they will do with the more dramatic and usual arc where the main leads face their problems but so far this is one of the best dramas of the year easily. Give this drama a chance.

Applause for effort

I am into more mature dramas so I was looking forward to this one that deals with infertility and adult relationships. However, it didn't go deep enough. It started with a very light and fluffy build-up, including the entertaining
Park Byung Eun playing Jae Young, a single dad and his story, and a cute beginning of the relationship between Ha Ri the capable career woman and Yi Sang, the eligible bachelor with the good heart.

However, after that, things just fall flat. The challenges and hardships around infertility, single parenthood, career demands, discrimination against single females, and the pressures of balancing family and work, are glossed over. The main leads go through angsty motions which are grating considering their age and supposed maturity, and it just becomes fluff that leads to a predictable end.

Overall, it was an enjoyable start with some fun characters, and I like the energy of Jang Na Ra since this is the first drama I watched her in. I applaud the attempt to illustrate some mature subjects. I just wanted more.

A magnificently realistic drama.

May be I would have never watch this among all the hyped airing dramas but thankfully I did. To my utter astonishment I enjoyed this more than any other airing dramas which started with Oh My Baby.
The story writing, representation and organization of scenes were excellently done. The main subject matter was “baby”. Everything is related and revolved around the one particular issue. A serious issue about artificial insemination has been raised, how society views an unmarried woman to have IVF, what the law of the country states and how to deal with all these struggles along with the subfertiility issue. The biological clock is ticking for the female lead. So how she should approach to have a baby of her own? There were large mountains she needed to overcome just to achieve her goals. No miracles no surprise occurred to the main protagonist Jang Ha Ri.

The whole point of this story is to give a generic view on infertility, subfertility and fertility. All sorts of characters were there single father, single mother, married couple struggling to have kids, married couple who don’t want to have kids, working woman with kids, mother who took break from work for kids but want to return to work life badly, woman who gave up kids for pursuing her career and also woman who gave up work to care for kids. It is a portrayal of today’s society – where we stand with our perception of having children with or without partner, with or without marriage.

The protagonists never gave up nor did they bawl their eyes out all day long due to the failure of not getting what they want. They faced booms and troughs of their life - enjoying their romance, working like normal people and at the same time going through their own troublesome life sportingly. Isn’t this the real life?
Another interesting fact was the patience and resilience of a mother of an early 40s daughter. She might not have agreed to whatever her daughter did or want but she understood her and supports her all along. The serious conversation between the mother and daughter seemed light hearted but was deeply edifying.
The story is also focused on the fight of a magazine company to keep their business amidst the sea of “online” era. It was appreciable to show the practical approach of keeping the company or not and how the female lead went out to open her own one.

Oh My Baby is very aesthetically presented story with laughter, tears, comedy, practicality, rationality and romance. All the characters depicted have given appropriate approach to a same issue from their individual perspective in a different way is just what can be seen in our surroundings.

I have grown huge respect for the scriptwriters, directors and ensembles of this drama. It’s been so long I have seen such a beautiful drama with a realistic approach of a particular subject matter. The OSTs are also wonderful. Jang Na Ra and Go Joon were quite natural with their acting. They are my favourite from now on. I appreciate and like every scenes every story portrayed in this drama.

Intriguing concept but execution underwhelming

I really wanted to like this drama. It is a story that should have appealed to me, because I am in that age group as FL was, but it was so actually more frustrating. The relationship between ML and FL was at times very mature, they talked over important matters, but at the other times it wasn't, probably for sake of adding more episodes to the story. The drama behind their break up was ridiculous, as was evident when they got together again. It would have been better if they actually showed them struggling toward their mutual goal, rather than doing that sudden hope losing and separation thing that didn't serve any purpose, because it defeated the point of all the talking they did at the beginning of their relationship.
The SML disturbed me a bit because he verged toward psychopathic tendencies, and by all means he could have been a perfect SML who had it all - brains, looks, humor, and even a baby to share (well, if there wasn't a mom already around even though not present). By the way, the Do-a's Mom character was important in highlighting the issue not very much talked about, the postpartum depression. Kudos to writers for talking about women issues rarely shown on TV, but sadly that alone does not make a good storytelling.
What actually annoyed me the most, was that here we had a story about 40-somethings and they all behaved as cringy teenagers - barely touching, holding hands, and keeping decent distance. There was no romantic tension between FL and any of her possible love interests - they all could have been her siblings for all I saw here. Only one kiss and even that one was timid. The only actually quite sexy scene was when I-Sang was caught taking his shirt off by her mother, and the director was probably planning it purely for laughs! Do not misunderstand me - I did not need steamy scenes like those in Love to Hate You (I wouldn't have complained though), but more chemistry between leads would have made a lot of difference in my seeing their relationship as realistic. There was so much possibility to make that happen. For example, when ML and FL were finally alone together at B&B, SML saw them through the window holding hands and smiling at each other. Seriously? The scene would have been so much more powerful (not to mention more realistic) and painful for SML if he saw them hugging and kissing as real couples do.
Except for those annoyances, I liked actors, both Go Jun and Jang Na Ra, and side characters were interesting too. There were no villains and no evil plotting (except by screenwriter himself). The first half of the series was imho better, as the second half went into overdrive with all the unnecessary melodrama, but I am not sorry for watching this through. It was quite pleasing to see women and men supporting each other, and actually talking over important issues. If only there was more chemistry as would have been normal for relationships between adults, and if only there wasn't that superfluous drama in the second half, it would have been a great show, especially because of some valuable life lessons shared both for women and men.

Babyless Woman

While the drama had its moments of charm and humor, it struggled to deliver a truly expansive storyline that kept you engaged. The drama relied on the key characters interactions to drive its story, however, the long wait between these scenes was off putting despite barely having any additional side plotlines. Speaking of which, there were a few small side plotlines but none of them were remotely good or had any considerable weight. The third guy (Choi Kang Eu Tteum) always felt out of place and the attempt to give him something later on for his character was pathetic. The theme is good and some ideas were entertaining but the characters needed a deeper exploration. The OST was below average and the track "Only You" in particular was plain awful. The drama was alright but it felt incomplete in many aspects.

I watched it because I'm a huge fan of Jang Nara. Lover her acting. I really liked this drama at first but I never thought that the main (and only) plot would run from start to end.

I'm not sure if it's just because I'm one of those girls who's really not a fan of having their own child but the story line got a bit bland by the end.

Love their friendship and the mature way they handle things here but I guess the main story isn't really doing it for me.

Congrats to the team though!

Not bad, not great.

I always liked Nara, buy I don't remember, if I have ever liked any of her other dramas. (I think I've seen like 4) Oh My Baby is her best drama so far that I've seen, at least It's the least bad of those 5..
Nothing particularly stands out that is wrong with this drama, really. I mean sure from a western viewers standpoint getting bombarded by Korean bias against single parents, sperm donation etc can be pretty annoying, but they sort of dialed that down after the first few episodes, so I could bear with it. There are no annoying parent plots, even the love triangle(rectangle) is unusually tame,, considering. I guess the problem is that I just wasn't all that entertained. The comedy is not that great. The newspaper related happenings are a yawn. At least the romance should've been on point and the leads did in fact have good enough chemistry. Maybe the writer just failed write a believable romance story? I'm not entirely sure to be honest, I just feel that something's off with it. The ending is a bit lacking and it feels a bit rushed too.

Thoroughly enjoyable !

I did not know anything about this drama but I am glad I watched it till the end . I really liked , the issues raised are topical and shows the difficulties single women can meet when they feel their biological clock begins to tick. Marriage ? Sperm banks ? Bringing up a child as a single mother ? The drama might have been light hearted , comic at times , in looking at these issues ,but respectful and entertaining , The ending was a happy one and all the cast excellent .
