On May 31, JTBC unveiled an excerpt from an interview with Lee Jun Ho regarding his role in the upcoming weekend drama King the Land

In the drama, the actor plays the role of Gu Won - a Chaebol heir  who despises laughter.

Lee Jun Ho has previously showcased his acting prowess in various genres, including action, melodrama, and romance. But being particularly renowned for his prowess in romantic comedies, viewers eagerly anticipate his performance in King the Land

Lee Jun Ho stated, "Given that it is a romantic comedy, I had the expectation of enjoying the work. I believed that collaborating with a talented director, staff, and fellow actors would bring about a pleasant synergy in completing the project". He added, "I wanted to portray laughter and excitement in a way that viewers would enjoy, as it is a romantic comedy".

In the drama, Gu Won may appear flawless as a third-generation Chaebol, but beneath his cold demeanor lies deep wounds and trauma, resulting in his brusque and cynical attitude.

In building the character, Lee Jun Ho explained, "Even without uttering a word, I tried to convey Gu Won's cynicism and intimidation in each scene, by harnessing restrained emotions. I hope that his journey of breaking free from the scars and trauma after meeting Cheon Sa Rang becomes a captivating aspect of Gu Won's charm". He also mentioned, "In terms of style, as a Chaebol, I wore three-piece suits. I worked hard to show both the elegance and the toughness of the character beyond the attire".

In regard to the drama, Lee Jun Ho emphasized, "I believe that the allure of King the Land lies in its ability to present familiar elements in a fresh and compelling manner. I kindly request the viewers' generous love and attention towards the intertwining journey of Gu Won and Cheon Sa Rang, as well as their blossoming romance".

King the Land will premiere on June 17 on Netflix
