The K-movie Sister Yu Jeong won the CGV Award at this year's Jeonju International Film Festival.

At the 25th Jeonju International Film Festival awards ceremony, held on May 7, the Korean independent film Sister Yu Jeong was selected as the winner of the CGV Award.

The CGV Award of the Korean Competition category at the Jeonju International Film Festival is awarded to a Korean independent feature film that stands out in terms of subject matter, theme, and format. The winner will also receive a prize of 10 million won.

Sister Yu Jeong is director Jung Hae Il's feature debut.

It tells the story of Yu Jeong (Park Ye Yeong), a night nurse in the cardiology department of a university hospital. Upon hearing the news that her younger sister, Ki Jeong (Lee Ha Eun), has been arrested as a suspect in a case of infant abandonment, a crime she confessed, Yu Jeong struggles to save her by any means necessary.

But, further complicating matters, Ki Jeong maintains silence throughout the investigation.

Kim Jong Won, sales support manager at CGV, revealed the reason for selecting the movie as the winner, saying, "Sister Yu Jeong delicately portrays how sisters begin to get to know each other [deeply] as they delve into an untold incident," and "the direction that makes us reflect on the meaning of family through a mystery drama is especially impressive."
