Problematic
I really wanted to like this series since it's so popular, but watching it was soooooo uncomfortable. Gu Hai forcing himself on Bai Luoyin even though throughout the entire series he never seems to reciprocate his feelings isn't romantic, it's creepy and abusive. It's a shame, because the acting is great at the story had so much potential up until Gu Hai KIDNAPS Bai Luoyin and starts pressuring him so much that I could not continue to watch. Why is it so hard to create a romance drama that doesn't involve emotional and physical abuse?Was this review helpful to you?
Nice BL series
Love by Chance is thd first Thai BL series I've ever watched and I really liked it!The positive:
The relationship between Pete and Ae is very healthy and sweet. No heartbreak, break-up or crazy amounts of jealousy. The supporting characters are also very interesting. I like the story of Can and Tin and look forward to it continuing in the 2nd season!
The negative:
In my opinion Pete is just way too meek! He doesn't have a lot of personality or anything to endear himself to the audience, unlike Ae, Can and Tin.
The sexual assault of Techno. It's creepy and not cute at all.
Also, it's a bit strange that pretty much EVERYONE in this series is gay! 😂 The fact that homophobia is completely absent (except for Pete's ex in the beginning) makes the series more light-hearted, but also a bit unrealistic.
All in all I'd definitely recommend the series though!
