Hwang Yun Sung, or simply know by his first name Yun Sung, is a South Korean singer. He made his debut in 2015 as one of the vocalists and dancers of the boy group "Romeo" when CT Entertainment reached a deal with Japanese company Pony Canyon to launch an idol group together. The group debuted with their EP "The Romeo" and the main song "Lovesick". He is the cousin of the actress Hwang Jung Eum and of Hwang Ah Young, one of the contestants from Produce 101 season 1. The group continued to promote and in 2017 Hwang and three other members, Milo, Kyle and Hyun Kyung, entered to show "MIXNINE" but were all eliminated in the early rounds. The group produced two more singles in Japanese but by 2018 it had faded from the entertainment industry and, while no official announcement was ever made, Romeo disbanded. In 2020, Hwang decided to become a trot singer and participated in "Mr. Trot", placing 11th overall and forming a deep friendship with Lee Chan Won. After the show, he was part of the 4-member project group "Mr. T" made of "Mr. Trot" singers who were just outside of the top-10 and he also continues to promote as a solo artist. On September 20, 2022 he enlisted for his mandatory military service and is expected to be discharged on March 19, 2024.
