Rainie Yang is a Taiwanese singer, actress, and host. She was born in Beitou, Taipei, Taiwan, with ancestral roots in Hapu, Guangdong, China. She attended Hwa Kang Arts School for high school. Coming from a single-parent family, she relied on her mother and sister, as they struggled with significant debts.

In 1997, after her parents' divorce, her mother was burdened with debts. Despite facing such challenges, she had always dreamed of becoming an artist. Despite numerous setbacks in various talent shows and competitions, Rainie finally excelled in the "Healthy Beauty Girl" selection and advanced to the finals.

In May 1999, while attending Bei'an Junior High School, Yang participated in the "Taipei City Anti-Drug Makeup Talent Competition" organized by the Taipei City Government and won the championship. That same year, she signed with a talent agency, which arranged for her to record and be evaluated by music professionals and producers. However, she received mostly negative feedback.

In 2000, Yang joined the girl group 4 in Love and debuted. The group released two albums, but they had poor sales and eventually disbanded in 2002.

In 2003, she signed with Sony BMG under the arrangement of her management company.

During her time at Huaguang Academy of Art, Rainie Yang dated artist Alien Huang, and their relationship lasted for two years.

On September 16, 2017, Rainie Yang and Li Rong Hao officially confirmed their relationship. On September 17, 2019, they officially got married and registered at the Anhui Civil Affairs Bureau in Hefei, Anhui Province.
