She graduated from Anyang Arts High School and before debuting, she was cast as a fashion model. In 1994, using the stage name Yoo Chae Young, she became one of the original members of the co-ed group COOL. She even appeared with a shaved head, a bold hairstyle for female celebrities in the mid-1990s, and attracted a lot of attention from the media when they debuted with their 1st album "Why You Wanted to Be". She decided to leave the group in 1995 and went on to form the duo US that was not very successful and, one year later, she decided to become a soloist. Sadly, she was diagnosed with gastric cancer in October 2013 and the disease was so advanced, the doctors performed surgery and offered chemotherapy but the prognosis was not good. She passed away on July 24, 2014 at the age of 40.
