He is known as a director of the "Kita no Kuni Kara" series. He is the president of the All Nippon Producers Association.
He graduated from the Faculty of Letters, Keio University in 1967. He then joined Fuji Television with the desire to report, but was assigned to the first production department of the organization station and was involved in drama production as an assistant director for Kobayashi Shunichi.
Sugita debuted as a director in 1970 with "TV Night Show". Six months later he was transferred to the newsroom and was in charge of "Weekly News".
He debuted as a film director in 1988 with "Oracion". In 1992, he won the Newcomer Award for Fine Arts Broadcasting. Edit Biography
