She made her debut as a singer from Teichiku in 1956 while she was a student at Yamawaki Gakuen Junior College, taking advantage of her victory in the radio program "Daigaku Kachinuki Utagassen".
At the request of Ozawa Ichiro, she turned to political activities from around 1995, and in 1996, she ran for the 41st House of Councilors general election from the 12th district of Tokyo with the official approval of the New Frontier Party but lost the runner-up with a difference of about 1200 votes. She was elected for the first time in the 1998 Upper House election (proportional district) and served as a member of the Welfare and Labor Committee.
On August 9, 2003, at the age of 66, she died suddenly due to ischemic heart failure while taking a bath in the parliamentary dormitory where she lived. Edit Biography
