Jerry Fujio
- Name: Jerry Fujio
- Native name: ジェリー藤尾
- Also Known as: 藤尾薫紀
- Nationality: Japanese
- Gender: Male
- Born: June 26, 1940
- Died: August 14, 2021
Fujio's mother suffered from alcoholism to avoid loneliness in an unfamiliar place. When Fujio was in the first year of junior high school, he found his mother dead at home.
After that, his life collapsed because his father couldn't afford to look after his family. He was deeply hurt and lived a rough life in downtown areas such as Shinjuku until he became a bouncer for the Foolish League "Three Voices". Gradually they began to pursue the path to music and sang Elvis Presley's "Hound Dog" at a jazz cafe in 1957. He was then scouted by Manase Productions and entered the entertainment world.
In 1958, he dropped out and started his entertainment life in earnest. He made his debut as a singer of "Hiroshi Mizuhara and Blue Socks" at the Western Carnival of the Nippon Theater. As an actor, he made his record debut in 1959 with "The guys in the cage", and as a singer with "Sad Indian" in 1961.
In 1964, he married singer and talent Watanabe Tomoko and had two daughters with her. With his family, he appeared in variety shows such as "All-Star Family Opposition Song Battle", and since 1974, he has appeared in Toyota Corolla commercials and has been widely recognized as a "good entertainer family".
However, in 1985, the couple's disagreements got reported, and Watanabe separated at the end of the same year. He was officially divorced on July 12, 1986. At that time, Watanabe was unilaterally published in a women's weekly magazine, such as "Drinking life causes domestic violence (DV)", "Disagreement with wife's parents", "Financial distress, and income reversed with wife". Fujio listened to the scandal, and when the audience began bashing him, his exposure to TV decreased and he disappeared from the front stage. Fujio himself didn't say much about this, but when he divorced, he said that his two daughters were on their father's side and that his eldest daughter revealed his mother's disturbing behavior and relationships outside marriage. In a 2010 interview, Fujio himself admitted that his wife's unfaithfulness was the cause of the divorce.
Since then, he has continued performing arts activities such as recitals, dinner shows, and oldies concerts. He is also known for his efforts in welfare activities such as consolation and lectures on human rights through his own experiences of discrimination. Edit Biography
