Kirari was born in Tokyo and grew up in Okinawa prefecture. Originally, her stage name was Kamuzaki Risa and appeared in the variety shows during mid 90s. Her debut as an actress in the drama "Gift" came in 1997 when she joined Ken-On. In 1999, she made her debut as a singer with the single "Last Piece" under the stage name Kirari. This song was used in the first ending theme of the anime version of the drama "GTO".
Kirari retired from entertainment activities in 2000 due to cervical cancer. She briefly resumed the activities in 2003 after her recovery. Later, Kirari moved to Taiwan and played an active part mainly as a model and commercial appearances. In 2008, she married a Taiwanese man who works in the entertainment industry and gave birth to her first child in 2009. She moved back to Japan in 2012 and spends her time between Japan and Taiwan.
In January 2015, Kirari officially announced the resumption of entertainment activities in an exclusive interview with a major news site. Edit Biography
