Whew

I don't think ill ever be the same after this drama. Real tasteful, well crafted work of art. Probably the best thing to come out of Netflix in the last few years. Was not prepared for the breakdowns every episode. I will have to see my psychiatrist after this. No but really I haven't cried and laughed the next second just to bawl in my mother's lap the very next while watching a kdrama ever. This made me do that! So! Yeah! Don't know about the re-watch value maybe if I wanted to off myself I'd watch again. Anyways, i think every single person should watch this atleast once — if you can stomach it.

The Korean Mindhunter But Not Quite

Right off the bat, dunno why some on here are giving this bad ratings on here while a show as awful as signal has such high ratings lol. Anyway.....as a huge mindhunter fan I was so excited for this and it met my expectations. When I started it I was slightly disappointed as I went around calling it the Korean Mindhunter and was let down by the lack of the 'fincher-esque' fast paced but almost academic storytelling. But its just entirely different i mean its set some 35 years later in South Korea.. very different but good nevertheless. At first Detective Yoon was frustrating but every character on the show is fully realized and based in reality, so you'll learn to bare with it. Also would be good to actually research some of the real cases the show was based on and read a bit about Prof Kown IlYong whom Song Hayoung is based off of.

This was an excellent show and for someone interested in the psychology of criminals, i was thoroughly entertained. They handled the cases with respect and it was honestly clever unfolding of plot.

Initially was uncomfortable with the editing and look of the show, (the high-contrast postprod sharpness effect really threw me off) but I came arnd to enjoying it - it really captures that dark late 90's early 00's era of south korean criminal bureaus.
Best kshow of 2022 alongside juvenile justice for me.

just straight up a waste of time

Just bad. The first maybe 3 episodes were great and promising and then everything just took a turn for the worst. Every fucking thing is inconsistent and everyone is just evil. It's like they just had a big ball of the worst things humankind could do and kept picking chits out of it every 20 minutes. No catharsis AT ALL just pain and discomfort. Why were all the murders only of women and children? God i could write a whole book of the the plot holes and issues I have with this drama. Can't believe I wasted so much time — my sister and I started the show one night and got hooked initially but it was so fucking dumb and bad as it progressed BUT we couldn't stop. The agony. We had to complete nearly 18 hours worth of run time in 10 hours by skipping tonnes of shit and watching it at 1.5x (don't worry you won't miss anything) I've never hated lead characters this much ever before the two male leads (esp lee jehoon) were all that kept me going. And I generally only like the women in a show but MY GOD did they make me hate the FL. Just bad don't watch this show it's just awful. I should've just read about it on dramabeans. As a film and writing student especially i really lost the will to live while watching this raging pile of dogshit the crew and cast that worked on this need to reflect on their actions.

Fun Drama in the Era of Cancelled Historical Dramas

Every drama that seems to be getting political is getting cancelled lol. This one seems fun. At first it was a bit cringey but there are some funny elements and Nana is too beautiful for my gay ass to not like it. I think it'll be a cute and fun drama I'd like to see more of Nana drop-kicking men. ( Personally, I feel like she suits the action/ haughty characters very well but I'd really like to see her attempt more challenging roles if offered) Curious to see where it's going -- hope it doesn't disappoint. OK EDIT!!! I dropped this shit after 4 episodes I'm sorry no matter how sexy Nana is I could not sit thru this dogshit drama.
