Bromance because China

Like all my reviews regarding Chinese BL, I think it's important to remind people or to inform for those who don’t know, that the Chinese government is very strict against BL. They put so much red tape on many shows that most of them have being cancel. For those who are not cancel, they are restricted on what they can put on a show. So if you want that hot Thai style BL, you wont find it, unless it’s in a cancel show (because it has hot BL).

Regarding this show; I wish they could have done a better job, but again, that red tape is scruples and for such, I do believe they did a great job. Good effects and acting. It’s obvious what is going on without showing sex scenes or kissing scenes. One of their techniques is using subtle but obvious clues of what is going to happen. In one episode, you can see Xia Yao throwing Yuan Zong to the couch and slightly loos his necktie (if you don’t know what is happening, then you are more innocent then me…lol). Then on another scene, you can see how they got to a point that they are just in bed enjoying each other’s company, on the same day that Yuan Zong was at Xia Yao making dinner, and the mom was there.

The ending was a little disappointing, they had to make it animated (the last 2 minutes) (don’t know why). I was waiting for them to just be at their place (either one) and just look at each other with the look of love and compassion as they move bravely to the future together.

Furthermore, you can see Xia Yao friend’s development in their own relationships as they struggle to admit to themselves what they really want.

In order to fully enjoy the show, you must remember 2 main things: 1) it’s a Chinese BL and in order to finish the show, they had to make it romantic but as well brolove and 2) The tile! It’s call “Advancing Bravely” for a reason! Meaning, the message of the story is; in order to move forward (no matter what), you have to be brave. I believe having this 2 main points, you will be able to fully enjoy this show.
Please let me know your opinion once you finish the show ^_^.

To the point!

If you are looking to kill a Saturday and or a full weekend, this is the BL you need to watch. Short but lovely stories. I was looking to kill my Sunday with a nice and warming feeling when I cam cross to this BL. It’s clean BL with a lovely story. The production is very small, so don’t expect big money on this one. The music as well is ok. No major songs and different songs, it basically plays the same one. But it’s expect since it has only 8 episodes and they are about 10 min each. If you are wondering were you can see it, here is a good place to watch a your BL drama: dramacool.vc

Very sweet and clean BL

In the world of BL, you have many options: the young high school love (most Thai BL), the dramatic love (most Philippine BL), and the bromance (most Japanese, Chinese, Korean).

I honestly needed a cleans from the Thai and Philippine BL. I’m not a high school student nor I like dramatic and complicated issues. On top of that, I work and have some college projects that I have to finish. With limited time, I needed some short but sweet love.

My Sweet Dear is a very sweet and basically bromance with 1 kiss but very meaningful. There are only 8 short episodes but each one is full of emotion and with a clear message.

If you are like me, looking for a cleans and with limited time to watch other BL’s, then I recommend My Sweet Dear. I truly enjoyed the story and their acting. A very sweet, clean, and fun BL.

Bonappetit!

Happy ending (because that is very important not just for me, but for so many).

It had me on the edge trying to figure it out and I can say… I was wrong…lol. The story is very cute with a message of the importance in mental health (I’m a caseworker so with more reason, I liked it). Furthermore, it did make me wish one of my toxic relationships would have ended in a good and nice tone as one of the couples did (you will find out which one…lol). But the plot twist was very good, and it did made me feel bad (in a good way… if that’s possible).

Overall, I cried, was laughing, and cried some more once I was done with the show. I just wish it had more episodes.

Great short story!

Great short story,
If you need a fast recharge of AWW… This is one of them. The best part is the story is not messy and didn’t leave holes allover the place like other short stories (it only has 8 episodes). The production was well made with (I’m sure) low budget.

The characters are so cute, but their acting was incredible. They really made their characters as innocent and pure heart as they could. But I guess what it brought everything all together was the back characters as well. They were incredibly good that they glued everything.

I’m glad I stumble this K-Drama on TikTok🤣.

It made me cry!

Breaking news, this is actually NOT a bromance! Please have in mind that you still have the rated 18 but you know what? I’m happy how they did it. The most incredible work (besides the acting) is the incredible camera angles. Honestly, been a low budget BL series always brings many difficulties, but, they really had a great team on this show.

The story was incredible and heart breaking. I really thought that it was going to have the horrible and typical ending from the Korean side. So far, they are 50-50 on the BL’s ending and at the very end, it looked like it was going to be another heartbreaking story. I was so moved by the ending that it had me clapping and crying. Yes, I admitted, I cried a little bit…lol.

The acting got me so bad that I killed the series in 4hrs. To bad it’s already 11pm because if it was the weekend or earlier, I would have benched the movie as well.

Incredible story and acting!

The end is what we don't ever see!

Before anything else, I always start with; It’s a Chinese BL. And Chinese BL have tons and tons or red tape! Saying that, this is a great BL, the cast was incredible, and the acting was on point.

Everyone points out the low budget effects and etc. but instead of saying how bad some props were, you had to admire how good they did with such limited money. For what I understand from hardcore BL novel readers, the story is very chopped. But this would be obvious since, again, the limited money and censorships. For such, they had to cut many scenes and back stories, but even if you don’t know it (I don’t), they did a great job on explaining it! Originally it was planned to have 28 episodes but ended (censor) with 12 episodes. Even the weeding part was planed to be on the 28th episode.

There are two things that really made me happy: 1) the secondary characters were awesome! They really did justice on the acting and the amount of time they gave them, 2) The ending is a weeding! Even though I wanted to see what happened at the end, for what I could gather, this BL got censor. And if you have seen it or will see it, they really didn’t show anything what you would have seeing in a Thai or Philippine BL (and you know how hardcore they are). For such, they decided to give it a very happy and unexpected ending that nobody (Chinese BL) has done before!

See beyond the low budge and the long political and complex story that they try their best to explained it in a very short (12 episodes) time.

I really enjoyed this BL. It’s just lovely and pure.

1st BL

For many viewers, this BL wasn’t their 1st one, but to be honest, for me it was. I got introduce to Thai BL at the beginning of the covid-19. I still had work and my university homework/assignments didn’t end. I was overwhelmed with all the stress that I had during those difficult times. 2gether was my escape and my introduction to a new, undiscovered and unknown world for me. The story is cheese….Ok, very cheese, but maybe that is way I liked it. I was tired of all the drama and negativity that was going around the world and around me. The innocence of the love story was really new for me. To imagine that maybe this can happen to somebody, and why not me…lol.

The story doesn’t have really good kissing scenes and no sex at all, but again, since it was my 1st bl, I was ok with it and as well, it won’t be as innocent if it did. The funny thing is; when I started seeing other BL, I was amaze how some have strong sex and kissing scenes…lol.

The music is great, and I loved it so much that I started downloading so much Thai music that even if I don’t understand it, I can appreciate the incredible rhythm. Another thing that I was amazed was the heavy marketing they do during the show and even after…lol. As a marketing minor, I have learned so much because of this show.

I hope anybody that reads my review understands that; this is a clean and pure lovely bl show. I enjoyed it and I know you will if you keep that in your mind.

Bromance

The story is actually very good. Before anything else, this is a Bromance. But like I always say, remember that China is very particular about BL shows. They have tons of red tape to the point that if you show kissing and it’s considered explicit, then they will cancel the show… Just for a kiss scene. Saying that, I would love to see the show but with a cast of Thailand or so. The story is so good that It made me wish that they put some rated R scenes, at least some kissing and actual affection.

Overall, this is a great show, and the story is so different that it got me hooked. A must watch! Again, BROMANCE…LOL.

Solid BL

Thanks to YouTube, a came across this BL series. Before I start, I want to remind people that this is a Chinese BL, meaning, they have to work with tons of red tape compare to other countries. For such, they had to cut many scenes that one would expect to appear (kissing).

Now, clarifying that, this was a great show to be honest. The cast was solid. You will think they had experience but for what I could gather, they are newbies, so I was more impress with that. The editing is hard to get use to it but is understandable since, again, they had to cut many scenes and work with so much red tape.

The ending was kept open in hopes they will make a second season (they are) since the Chinese government stop the filming on the origina season. There are only 15 episodes (FYI). The second season was program to come out on 2020 but, well, everyone knows 2020 sucked….and not on the BL way. They did release a trailer where they get…. Spoiler alert…. marry. This trailer came out this year 2020, so that means that they finished the taping but still have to edit many things, and with everything that is going on, probably this will be pushed to 2021. The original cast will be in the second season.

Enjoy!

The one that brings you color to your gray life

They say that you know true love when you see it. This story takes it to another level. You have a color-blind person in a world that can only another person can bring you color. But what if you are afraid of stepping out of your comfort zone?

The acting of the main characters makes you want more from them. Their movements and facial expressions are very delicate with a hint of exploration. At least, one knows that it has an upper hand on this new and unexplored relationship.

This story is very different with great visual FX. Unfortunately, the episodes are very short, but very tasteful.

LOVE IT!

So, I’m a little behind on this drama (I just discovered) but at the same time, I’m glad I was behind it so I can just bench it…lol. It was a great emotional roller coaster and this ending, OMG, this special ending is definitely the cherry on the top.

I think is very important to let you know that it does have a happy ending and with the special, it really brought everything together. I wish in a way, that they make a second part, but at the same time, the way it ended was perfect. I’m not sure why people on MyDramaList are so negative on everything. They can see the best Drama of their lives and they will still give it a 7. If you go to Viki (another website), you will find a more accurate rating. But don’t take my word, watch the show and let me know 😊.

Great happy ending!

OMG…. Love this short story! I watched it in one day and I want more. The acting is so great to the point that they sold the character from the manga. Hsiao Hung (Yao Shun Yu character) was so lovely and innocent that I felt in love whit him (beside that he is really good lucking). The way he brought to life such an innocent and loving character it really takes talent. The way he cried and watered his eyes was just perfect. Parker Mao (Xia Shang Zhou) I was really not sure about his character and how he did it, but half of the episodes and he was all in. The way he made those expressions but as well, he went all in on those kisses, I honestly think he was the one that made Hsiao Hung push himself on those intimate scenes.

Spoiler-ish: I think is very important to let you know that it does have a happy ending and with the special, it really brought everything together. I wish in a way, that they make a second part, but at the same time, the way it ended was perfect. I’m not sure why people on MyDramaList are so negative on everything. Happy Ending!!

I’m so happy that they decided to end the story in a happy tone. Sorry for the spoilers but lie many of my fellow drama followers, a lot of Asian LGBTQ dramas end in a horrible way so when I was watching the show, I would take brakes so I can mentally and emotionally prepare myself for a horrible ending that, happily never came 😊.

Please, if you are one of me that thought about it twice because of that particular problem, do yourself a favor, read this comment and fully enjoy (and sometimes cry your heart out) this wonderful drama.

The acting is superb, and the emotions are all over the place (for a good reason). I truly enjoyed this one and I hope they keep doing more (with a happy ending of course).

I love HIStory!

Loved the story. It’s different and so out of the usual; love from the future idea…lol. They really took a risk. I keep reading some comments and I understand the concerns about it and of course if you compared to other episodes, you will find things that you don’t like, but you really want to do that? I ask the readers and future viewers to keep an open mind. This is a left park idea that after the 1st episode, it really speeds up.

The actors really have great chemistry and I truly felt for Hai Yi (Linus Want) and Wynn (Jason Tauh). They are such incredible actors and yes, such hot guys that they made me wish I would find somebody like them (but mainly Hai Yi (that voice…baby jesus)).

There was no moment when I was crying and my heart just went straight (lol), to my stomach. I spent two days watching this show and I’m so happy that I was able to see it before I go back to work from my horrible vacation (this is the only thing that made my vacation worth).

I truly loved the story and the commitment of HIStory and I truly hope everyone keeps supporting them because compare to other countries, LGBTQ activities, art, movies, shows, its very difficult in or maybe, more difficult in Taiwan.
