Better than expected

I finally watched this after being put off by not-so-great reviews.
It was pretty good, not the best BL I have watched and I may be a little biased as I finished UWMA right before this and that was perfection. The story felt similar to most Thai BLs with the university setup and ye olde engineering students plot device....I feel it's been done to death by now. Gimme some Literature, CompSci, or Arts students instead, please!
Whilst some of the story elements (mainly the roses for me) were new, I felt a lot of it was just too familiar. That being said it did it fairly well and I have to say this is the first BL series I have watched that managed to pretty evenly give attention to so many couples, other than TharaFrong which I felt were thrown into the series a bit too late perhaps. Whilst I liked the way it managed some issues (Bohn and Duen and the top/bottom issue) I felt like others were just irritating to watch, Bohn's jealousy and possessiveness. Overall worth a watch, enjoyable but don't expect anything groundbreaking or different.

Bohn x Duen : Cuter than I expected and although I liked the story around the roses I couldn't overlook Bohn's constant jealousy, there just seems to be no trust there, better communication between the two would have been nicer to see than Bohn losing his temper every time someone so much as looked at Duen. But given that they were cute together and I liked how they (after a bit of drama) decided that the whole top/bottom issue didn't matter as long as they were together (can other BLs take note please?). I know many were disappointed by their slow progression but I liked it, it was both nice and more realistic to see them taking everything at a slower pace and get to know each other.

Ram x King : The reason I watched this series all the way through, the absolute cutest, proof that words are not always needed. I loved their acting, chemistry, and story. Their character development is slow and steady, which makes it all the more a joy to watch as they start to get to know and trust each other. The gazebo moment with the flower was just beautiful and so touching. I really hope these two get a big part of season two, they deserve far more screen time. I knew this would be my favorite couple straight from the bus moment at the start. I like how King can read Ram from his expressions and his eyes and how patient they are with each other. Their story captured my attention more than the others and I hope it gets further development in season two. I also love how they both have their own passions, dogs and plants, and how they play a big part in their lives, it really gave me more of an insight into their characters. Can I also say how GORGEOUS these two are? Because wow...please cast both in bigger roles and more series because their acting is brilliant and I would love to see them grow and develop in other roles too.

Mek x Boss : Like many others have said, the dubbing just threw me out of the story so often, it sounded unnatural and was uncomfortable with how it would play then the background sound would rush back in. I did however like their development and although both are good actors I have to commend Mek on his facial expressions, which were on point and really showed how much he was struggling with his hidden feelings. Not my favorite couple but I did like some of their scenes. Mek probably had the most memorable bit for me in the cafe when he was explaining the top/bottom issue to Bohn, brilliantly said, nice to see a BL state real facts for a change! I wasn't entirely convinced of their chemistry, it felt more like a bromance to me, and I didn't particularly buy how suddenly Boss was saying he had liked Mek all along....

TharaFrong: Too Little Too Late, again both are good actors and absolutely stunning....their visuals together are no joke. I liked how their characters started to develop but it just started a bit late in my opinion. I would have liked to have seen more of them from the start to give their characters more time to develop. I did however like how they started talking in the hospital and how flowers were also important to their story (jasmine).

Honorable mention to TingTing, one of only two female characters in BL that I liked. She was a great supportive friend, had some genuinely funny one-liners, and wasn't some plot device used to incite jealousy for a change. I liked how her character was a real genuine part of the group of friends but not some manic BL-obsessed girl (like King's sister...groan). Her line on the bus made me laugh '“I am going to cut my ovaries as there is no use” Ting Ting is hilariously savage. More female characters like this in BL series would be great to see.

Overall, a light, easy-to-watch series, nice if you want something that is sweet, fluffy, and light on the angst.
