Lady Boss Liu Hui Rong of Xingyuanzhai in Beijing is having a meal with her friends. Suddenly, a Taiwanese girl named Chen Jia Yu barges in, claiming to be Zhen Hao's girlfriend. Liu Hui Rong is stunned, and Song Xiao Zhuang gets anxious. She claims she is Zhen Hao's girlfriend instead. At this point, Zhen Hao hurries home and introduces Jia Yu as his marriage partner. Song Xiao Zhuang kicks up a fuss. Chen Jia Yu misunderstands and leaves in anger. Zhen Hao chases her and explains. The two reconcile. Song Xiao Zhuang is heartbroken. All the neighbors know Zhen Hao "dumped" her. Liu Hui Rong makes her stand clear. She turns down the gifts Jia Yu has prepared for her, and states that she will not accept Jia Yu as her daughter-in-law. The next day, to please her future mother-in-law, Jia Yu buys fresh ingredients from the supermarket and takes them to Xingyuanzhai. She makes braised meat rice and beef balls for everyone, to prove herself a worthy daughter-in-law. Song Xiao Zhuang finds out and turns up as well to join in. She picks on Jia Yu's cooking, to make things difficult for her. Liu Hui Rong forces herself to eat a beef ball, but suddenly chokes on it. Jia Yu and Zhen Hao rush her to the hospital. (Source: Viu)
