Season: 1

Chen Jia Yu attends a gathering with her old schoolmates and takes Zhen Hao along. Zhen Hao makes a fool of himself with lame jokes and ends up breaking a vase while trying to put on a martial arts performance. Jia Yu says she won’t take him to such gatherings again. Zhen Hao tells Jia Yu’s mother that he has resigned. She is shocked and angry with Liu Hui Rong. Jia Yu’s mother calls Hui Rong and rebukes her, and Hui Rong counters by accusing her of being meddlesome by asking Hou Wei Yi to give Zhen Hao a job. While walking around Taipei, Zhen Hao and Jia Yu stumble across a restaurant that is also named Xingyuanzhai. They go in for a meal and find that the place also serves authentic Beijing cuisine. The owner, Zhen You Cai, claims to be an 18th-generation descendant of the original Xingyuanzhai. Zhen Hao accuses him of being an impostor, but he is able to answer all of Zhen Hao’s questions and describe secret recipes. Zhen Hao calls Hui Rong to ask her if any relatives had ever set up shop in Taiwan, and Hui Rong says she doesn’t know of any. When they get home, Jia Yu’s mother angrily tells them to sign divorce papers. Zhen Hao frantically tries to explain. He realizes his mother must have angered Jia Yu’s mother and wants to go back to Beijing to get to the bottom of the matter. (Source: Viu)
