I'm shocked.

The beginning is great. everything is great until episode 43. 9 points. Then it's the same as always. The director realized he had to make more money. And then he starts making stupid bullshit.By episode 50, I was gonna give it a 6.But I was wrong. The ending is just a stupid shitstorm of bullshit. The last four episodes, 2 points.I don't watch anything else by this director and this studio. Blacklisted. Good luckTranslated with DeepL.com (free version)

How a bad ending can ruin an otherwise great series

I thoroughly enjoyed The Legend from the start. I enjoyed the story premise, the acting, especially Xiao Yan who played two roles. (I think she is someone I will look into on other series) The acting of the two leads has wonderful chemistry that is rare to find. Xu Kai playing Mo Qing was very good at communicating his emotions through his eyes. Bai Lu who plays Zhao Yao is excellent as a strong dragon lady. The entire story was wonderful in the first half til the charade was over and the power struggle started. Even tho there were some messy editing moments like cutting from one scene to another which made the viewers confused and lost, I still stick with it because the plot held my interest until episode 53. It looked like the editor got fired and the producers wrapped up the series quickly. What is unforgivable is that they reused the scenes that happened earlier to fill in the story. Not even bother to create a new scene. That is an insult to our intelligence. Do they think the viewers are not smart enough to see that? I would be happy if they made the story end before the entire nonsense editing started. I usually do not like open endings, but in this case, an open ending would have saved the series instead of botched-up reused clips. I would have given the series a 9 for the acting and setting and story premise. But due to the ending, it deserves a 5!
