Asawa Naoki chases a robber who escapes after robbing a jewelry store with a handgun. He suddenly runs into Shindo Ryo who begins chasing the robber with him. Naoki manages to grab the robber without any harm to the general public. The next day, while talking to his wife, Rinko, he receives a call. He heads to the police superintendent's office and is informed by Kandagawa, the police chief, that he will be forming a special investigation team. The leader is set to be Munekata Sakutaro. The room is assigned for the team but the current members are only Munekata and Naoki. When Naoki is tasked with gathering more members by Munekata, he decides to gather team members. He tries to recruit Shiho who refuses, Murase who doesn't answer the phone, Yazawa who tells him another potential member, Aoyagi, has left the police force. Meanwhile, Murase of the Higashi-Nakano station receives a mobilization request for the new special investigation team. The body of a university instructor named Miho was found at an excavation site. A bottle found to contain poison was found so the police determined it was a death by suicide. Murase, however, is not convinced that is the truth.
