Mr. Shao opens up to his son, Peng Cheng, that he doesn't want the latter to follow in his footstep and fail to protect the woman he loves. Jing Ran proposes to Zhen Zhen, who then rejects him because she thinks they are both aware of how different they are in terms of their aspirations and hopes for their future. Peng Cheng consoles Zhen Zhen and tells her that she and Jing Ran are just not meant for each other. Xiao Ning appeases Xi Shan and asks what she expects when they get married.
