Si Yuan solves the puzzle of the Ruins of Despair, not only allowing them to escape but also enabling Zhu Yan to master the Despair Blade of the Mu clan. Once free, Si Yuan makes the painful decision to save either Man Qing or Su Xuan. After learning the truth from the real Mu Xiu, Chang Ge begins to question his master. Where is the urgency?

This episode was so frustrating to watch because while they had spent so much setup in previous episodes emphasizing how tight and urgent things would be to both rescue Su Xuan _and_ save Man Qing from the wedding ... and then everything unfolded SOOOOO SLOOOOWWWWWW. SO much time spent by the good guys just standing around or lamenting despair (including fake, illusion). It was just frustrating to watch play out in slow motion. You almost feel like they deserved to fail because they just did not act with any real urgency. Walking when they should have been running. The pacing and editing of scenes was just terrible. This was so different from say, the way Episode 4 was executed, when they stole the painting and rescued ZQC with urgency and precision in a very exciting episode. I have to assume this one must have had a different director? It was just not a good episode.
