Ji Chang's men take Hai Shi's mom as a hostage to get the mermaid on the way to the capital. The chase leads to Hai Shi and Fang Zhu falling off the cliff with the mermaid. Back at the capital, Ji Chang makes his move, summoning General Fu and his mean to rebel. At the banquet, Ji Chang instigates the Leizhou envoys to pressure the Emperor into displaying the mermaid. Une action inachevée

Quand tout le monde, héros, héroïne et chariot contenant la sirène bascule dans un gouffre, et qu'à la scène suivante on retrouve les trois personnages en pleine forme à l'audience royale alors que les méchants les croient bien morts, on se dit qu'on aura un retour en arrière (le drama n'en manque pas) explicatif. Mais non, pas du tout. Au public d'imaginer la résolution de l'épreuve mortelle ! ;-)
