The Palace Season 2: The Lock Pearl Screen Episode 11

(Spoiler Alert!) "First Meeting"

This episode is where Lianer and the Emperor first meet. The Emperor was upset with his consorts who keep making trouble in the palace, saying they're all fake. He told his guards that he wanted to be alone. He then took out his outer, yellow, garment with the dragon symbol, wearing only an off-white inner garment.

Lianer failed to escape the palace. Dressed as a guard, she noticed a man walking at the Emperor's courtyard. Worried for the man's life and not recognising he was the Emperor, she approached him and warned him that he'll die if the Emperor caught him walking here. He smiles at her and asked her if she was a maiden or a guard. She told him it was none of his business and later said that she thought it was cool to wear what the guards wear.

She then asked him why he was walking bare-footed on the stones. Then she realised that he is trying to learn from the Emperor. She then asked, "Are you doing a punishment?" He then tells her to think positive things. She asked for an example. In reply, he said like the possibility that he may be the Emperor. She laughed at him and said that at most, he looks like a eunuch.

He smiles wide again and decides to play along. When he learned that she's suddenly hungry, he says he's the same way. So she taught him how to steal food from the Imperial Kitchen. They got caught by the guard who only recognized the Emperor when Lianer was out of his sight. Thus, he stopped chasing them and bowed.

The Emperor follows Lianer to her room. She only allowed him in because he was thirsty after eating the food from the kitchen. She told him to quickly leave after he's done. While he was pouring water, he saw her undressing her outer garment, revealing a white inner garment. He stared long at her while pouring the water into his cup. Thus, his cup overflowed with water. He caught himself and smiled.

When she see him still in her room, she chased him out.


My Review:

Love this scene! In order for him to find out what kind of person Lianer is, he remains under the guise of a eunuch. As he gets to know her, he gradually falls for her despite her occasional rough nature with him. She still remains kind, caring, and warm towards him. She is also very thoughtful of him. He also loves her happy nature and her optimism. He also notes how sincere she is in her actions - he felt no ulterior motives with her. Basically, he was hooked and looked forward to meeting her again. This scene was sooooo funny ^_^.
