A Murderous Affair in Horizon Tower Episode 8

The second novel follows the main character into adulthood. She saves her brother's life but is trapped by the demon lord. She eventually falls in love with him. Confused by the ending, Yang seeks out Wu Ming Yue to learn about the third novel, only to be informed there won't be one. With Yang's help, Ming Yue finally goes outside and promises to email the ending of the trilogy for Yang. The story was inspired by what Mei Bao told Ming Yue about her childhood and the abuse her stepfather exacted against her and her brother. After looking for Mei Bao's brother, they finally find a clue to his whereabouts. Her brother is actually the same boy from the alleged human trafficking case and Madam Ye.
