SPOILERS

Not many developments in this episode plot wise but some character wise: looks like a romance may be brewing between Gao and Siyuen and Erlang's wife is less annoying now and even helps him with his investigation. Gao rescues Siyuen from a fire while she tries to rescue workers from the Chuilin corporation who secretly rob copper from the empress's and their bosses trap them in a hut and try to burn them alive. Siyuen then has to use the empress decree to vow for Gao's innocence when troops arrive to save them. Her brother still tries to control her; he insists to declare the case closed and accuse the deal Bailin Yan father as guilty of corruption of the copper case. Meanwhile, Erlang visits the last invitee who didn't attend his wedding: he has been dead and after an autopsy Erlang reveals to his wife that he didn't die of accidental burning but of something else. He then proceeds to visit a luxury shop and the brothel, accompanied by his wife, in an effort to find the origin of a tulip hair oil which he suspects the deceased was poisoned with.
