Exceeded expectations
As a rule I always go into watching a c drama with low expectations and this one exceeded mine. I was following this show so vigorously that I think I learnt a thing or two about running a business and investing, sometimes after the episode i googled some words and phrases to better understand the plot. The acting by the whole cast was definitely a huge highlight. I felt for them it was easy for me to understand everyone’s POV and put myself in their shoes. This was consistent through the whole drama and never wavered for me.
I wasn’t really into this drama for the romance it was just a bonus that came from it. If they do or not end up together it doesn’t make a difference for me.
I’m excited to see how they wrap up the story. I hope they stick the landing.
Edit: they wrapped everything up well

A Cdrama off the usual trope.
I was looking for a modern cdrama that I can say, this is a very realistic drama and this series didn't disappoint. This is not the usual cdrama trope you are used to, where a FL fall and will be caught by the ML in the waist, turn and in slow motion (this is very cringey scene for me BTW), an accidental kiss and all that you can think of cheesy and cringey scenes.
The story line didn't disappoint as well!! the plot has been laid out clearly, in fact I learn so much about the business in China nowadays, learnt how they can possibly manifest the business world and the market. Proved how powerful vloggers are in Weibo as well as the trending or # influences. I was like WOW!! so this is how it is!!
I love how matured our leads are!!! No cringey jealousy and act stupid - this is how I always wanted for leads! to hold their jealousy and be the bigger person, This drama gave me all and I am very very satisfied.
So what are you staring at reading? Go watch it now!! Like NOW :D

Running against the wind
The chemistry between the main leads is insane. You would find them flirting, bickering, making fun of each other, teasing each other, sexual tension between them, yet healing each other unconciously in their rough times! The clothes and cinematography smells luxurious. The colour aesthetics are so good!
Story of a rich conglomerate daughter who apparently loses everything because of betrayal of her trusted person. Her story of growth from an arrogant heiress and inexperienced lady to a succesful woman with empathy, humbleness and maturity. It follows the twists and turns of her life. The male lead is an opportunistic good guy ( won't get on your nerves cause he seems to have empathy towards fl) something you would expect from an investor who only cares about profit. He seems to guiding fl with her journey.
Main leads have ENEMIES TO LOVERS troupe. Second leads have FRIENDS TO LOVERS TROUPE, so if you are fan of any of these, congratulations, you have got yourself 'to watch' in your list.
And once again, to repeat it again, the chemistry between all the characters, ALL THE CHARACTERS is good!
But, but but, it has good amount of comedy, sincerity, love, hot flirtings , growth! Overall it has healing elements to certain extent.
REVIEW AFTER WATCHING 26 EPISODES
Well, I don't know what it is about the story that didn't keep me going anymore. Probably because of the release of better dramas in this period of its airing time, but inam not that attracted to watching this daily anymore. But story going good. I am probably not satisfied with dialogue. The dialogues seem to be too simple at certain point, and hence sound a bit emotionless. Maybe the dialogue delivery could have been better. Or I don't know if it's my problem since I watch English subtitles. But anyways, it could be good pastime if you are bored and wanna watch something new. But I won't categorise it in must watch anymore! That's all!
Have a good time watching!

BEST MORDEN URBAN CDRAMA OF 2023
First of all i need to take a moment and appreciate all the casts and staffs realted to rwtw drama. I can see the effort and dedication for their work in this work. Thank you for this beautiful drama! The story was very solid here! The whole story revolves around Teng Yue, a very old traditional chinese show brand which was owned by female lead (Jiang Hu) dad. But later after her father's dead the company is bought by boaxing company where the male lead (Xu Si) a top investor joins them. As the story develops you will see Jiang Hu saving Teng Yue and Xu Si wanting to buy some shares of it! later the agreement is finalized Xu Si acquires 51% Teng Yue shares and Jiang Hu with 49% mind you these shares plays a huge role in the story and also in fl and ml relationship. In order to save Teng Yue Jiang Hu goes againt the wind to sell (20,000 shoe) and proof its value. She works and asks help to everyone she knows and finally she succeeds in the process Xu Si falls in love with her. He encourages her guide her and make her believe that she can do it. Their love story begins but it ends soon bcs of Xu Si didn't communicate about it to Jiang Hu (not spoiling it but its related to 51% shares) but at the end Xu Si realises how important Teng Yue is to Jiang Hu and he goes against the wind to save Teng Yue and win his beloved Jaing Hu back!
The characters of this story are very mature, strong and imperfect. Our female lead, Jaing Hu (played by Zhong Chuxi) who first appears to be an arrogant and dad's princess at the beginning of the story turns to be the strongest determined and cool person. She's has great leadership quality. In order to save Teng yue she can beg to anyone and ask for help. She's also a very sweet and lovely person. She is very sensitive. loves and trust the people who are around her!
Our male lead, Xu Si (played by Gong Jun) who appeared to us a winner and a strong player is also very sensitive. As an investors he knows how the game works he has a good knowledge of what he is doing and what the other party is interested in. Beside his job he truly loves Jiang Hu too. when he looses himself in the relationship at the end he again makes a strong comeback to save Teng Yue which is worth watching!
Other characters of the drama too not perfect everyone has some flaws in them but as the story comes to an end their characters develop and they work together towards the goal of working with Teng Yue.
All the actors really did an amazing job in portraying the characters emotions you can trust them and their acting skills and continue watching it. The ml and fl are stars for me their chemistry from the first ep was intense and follows till the end too! Their romantic scenes are not at all awkward it feels natural. Even when they break up and see they face each other their tension gets more intense! They got good visuals and great chemistry so its candy to the eyes!
lets not forget the osts! The first ost “stay with me” which plays when Jiang Hu and Xu Si first meet each other is my favorite the song is even special for them cause they play it and dance together. The song choice was really good! The lyrics fits the atmosphere and characters well. The leads have also sang their own songs so itws worth checking out.
Lets talk about the direction of this drama. Its very high quality! The wide detail cinematography shots are so pleasant to eyes. The colour/ filter choice too should be mentioned. You can feel the coldness and warmth in this drama. They balanced it very well! the characters fits too make the drama more beautiful haha. So production and direction wise no complains but i wished they had showed us more romantic scenes of the leads many was cut off.
Overall the drama was worth my time. I went throught roller-coaster emotions with the leads but now they have big place in my heart. The ending couldve been more perfect i wanted to see more of Jiang Hu and Xu Si dynamic but as its a good happy ending i recommend everyone bcs this drama is really one of the high quality urban mordern chinese drama out after a long time!! Give it a try your time will be worth!

If you are watching for romance then you will get frustrated !!!
Let's keep it short and simple !!!***SPOILER******
Starting was good till episode 20 everything about business and FL( into herself) always kept business at first place till the end which is huge disappointment for me
I'm not satisfied with the ending because after huge misunderstanding and breakup of our Lead CP get reunited at the end of EP 40 for 30 Sec without any hugs and kisses.
Overall Storyline was just good, FL acted way better than ML.
last few episodes, I skipped and completed in just 1 hours, so much misunderstanding and miscommunication even I got frustrated with FL seeing her behaviour towards ML at least give him a chance to explain or try to understand why he did that ? And she again started to develop another brand from scratch, Seriously.

“Rising with the wind begins with Jiang Hu”. A perfectly imperfect story.
A compelling realistic urban romance story revolved around an elite investor & rich girl whose life gets turned upside down after her father’s death and abrupt bankruptcy. Don’t let the ratings fool you! I had no idea what to expect when I began but it hooked me in early on. The business verbiage in the beginning was overwhelming but the ideas start to fall into place piece by piece the further the story develops. The pacing of this show is amazing. The storytelling is consistent for the most part. It carefully balances between business/love without one overshadowing the other. It is slow burn but with a realistic approach and purpose. You will definitely be going on a roller coaster ride up until the climax hits. In my opinion, these main characters are flawed in their own unique ways. The main focus is seeing their growth and how they will come up to "Rise against the wind". I’m all for growth but this aspect wasn’t well touched upon for our 2nd leads. The leads on the other hand showed tremendous growth.I cannot stress enough how valuable the theme of growth and value of life has been sprinkled along within the story. The story was told through FL’s POV but in doing so, we were able to watch the progress of Xu Si span over 40 episodes to give us & Xu Si the closure we all needed. If “Rising with the wind” begins with Jiang Hu, then it has been a true blessing for Xu Si to meet JH. Her persistent, confident, loving nature radiates amongst anyone she comes across. Who couldn’t help but admire her? I admire the progress for both of our leads. They both came a long way. They each had their own shortcomings & different ideologies but eventually learned valuable lessons from one another. They do have a big hiccup that will cause a drift between them. That’s my favorite part! Why? It stays true to the theme/message.
If you’re looking for full on fluffy romance, this is not it. All leads are written in a mature manner with strong personalities that will make you laugh, cry, frustrated, & even empathize with them. However, when the leads end up together it’ll be worth it and even have you kicking your feet at the cute flirtiness. Their chemistry exudes on screen whether flirty or hot tension. This is my 2nd drama of Gong Jun after, “The Legend of Anle” and 1st time for Zhong Chuxi. They complimented each other so well & truly brought the characters to life. You could feel the sadness & hurt within their eyes. When they were happily together, you couldn’t help but be happy with them. Some of the best natural chemistry I’ve seen this year.
All other cast members blended right in to make a wonderful story. It truly felt like you were a part of one big family sharing happiness and sorrow together. We rooted for them & came to appreciate the characteristics of each individual. That even includes our all-time favorite doggy, BOSS. No character felt out of place. A special tribute to the platonic friendships & women empowerment representation. In a competitive setting it can get quite nasty. To really have a group of supportive individuals who wish nothing but the best for you & help you succeed is the greatest form of love.
One of the biggest highlights in the show is the small details! From milk tea with double sugar, “wind” references to cactus plants. Seriously. I became obsessed over a cactus that was used to represent the progress of our leads. Even the outfits of all the characters were fitting to their personality & situations. I absolutely love when writers/directors use small details to help give insights on the characters. The production did not disappoint.
Overall, I would highly recommend this drama if you’re into an enemy to lover trope with realistic approaches. This is a refreshing story that will have you conflicted with your own thoughts. Exhibiting the issues of mixing business and emotions & how to keep them separate, you won’t be able to pick sides. These perfectly imperfect characters shine in their own way with the support of one another. They have no competition with each other but their own selves. For an unexpected gem, I will truly miss it. Here’s to my cactus couple! 🌵

I wish i could make a ranting video like Avenuex's.....do not waste your time!
I actually watched all 40 episodes without skipping any scene, i wish i had...What i liked:
-The main lead couple acting was great, i wish Gong Jun had choosen a better project though, he hasn't been in anything really important since WOH...i hope he gets some nice and interesting projects in the future...
- The fighting spirit of the female lead (That actually kept me watching).
What i disliked (i will just list some, because if i have to write down everything there wouldn't be enough space):
- The second female lead guyssss, like no, she is a big no! if you ever meet someone like this in real life, please get away from that person, you deserve better, and so her love story was kind of disturbing to watch. And it is the main reason why i am rating this drama this low, We are in 2023 and for god sake, this type of romance (if we can even call it romance....) shouldn't exist anymore, please writers , please!!!
- Since the main leads are very intelligent people, so many things could have been done better, like intelligent people do in real life, but of course we are watching a C-drama, it wouldn't be one whithout all those cliches, right?
This drama could have been shorter, there were so many uninteresting scenes that could have been cut out. ...
Till episode 30, i was actually going for an 8/10, but the last part really had me disgusted. I will not recommend this drama, it's nothing new, full of cliches and nonsenses (yes i can't get over the mess of the second lead couple) for me it's a 6/10.

This drama easily weaved its way into my all-time favorites list.
I didn’t have much expectations coming into this drama. I didn’t know any of the casts except for Gong Jun who I met in Begin Again just a few months back. I am familiar with Gao Zhi Ting and Miles Wei since I saw some feeds featuring them but I haven’t seen any single drama which they starred in. I am literally very new to Cdrama, just started my journey in June this year, although I saw some few dramas in the last three years mostly those that are only available in Netflix. I don’t have any background about Rising With The Wind when I picked it up, only the basic info you could get in MDL’s Details section.(*By the way, I watched Elaine Zhong in The Furthest Distance back then though I didn’t realize she was the same female lead in Rising With The Wind not until after a few episodes I got curious and checked out her MDL bio.)
THE STORY:
I couldn’t rave more about the story. It is simply one of the best narratives I watched in Cdramaland. It perfectly weaves business intricacies, fall from grace and redemption arc, women empowerment, and romance enough to capture my interest from the get-go. It started with Jiang Hu’s fall from her high horse compounded by betrayals left and right from people she thought she could trust which will leave you asking how she was able to survive all this mess. Her journey towards reviving a century old national brand depicts real life scenarios of a bumpy ride these entrepreneurs encountered when faced with numerous problems from production, material, logistics, marketing and of course the biggest headache of all – the people (workers). There are also opportunists along the way who are very eager to pounce on you at the slightest weakness you show. I also love that the characters here are all flawed in their own ways which makes them very relatable and somehow you can see yourself in their own shoes. You will be able to feel how they felt and understand where they’re coming from.
The way the story was told is so unique, it was the best! Hidden arcs that will give you the wrong impression at first and then when the grand plan was revealed, you can only clap your hands at how brilliant the director/screenwriter executed the plot. The director was also able to bring out the best from all the actors. The main leads’ chemistry is top notch, explosive to say the least, that even their stares are enough to melt me inside. Their witty banters are so entertaining that it feels like you are also a part of it and not just an audience. The best part is this drama has very minimal cliches if there’s any. It doesn’t follow the normal tropes where when FL falls, ML is there ready to catch her with all the slow-mo and multiple angle shots to capture the moment. The portrayal of romance, though slowburn, is something new for me because I couldn’t guess what would be the next move given a typical situation like when ML forced FL to get in the car or when ML secretly followed FL. You can see these plots in almost every romance drama there is but in Rising With The Wind, there is distinctiveness in the way these scenes were executed, you couldn’t guess they would do it that way.
THE ACTING/CASTS:
Simon Gong (Gong Jun) and Elaine Zhong (Zhong Chuxi) are the perfect Xu Si and Jiang Hu, there could be none other except them. Simon’s portrayal of Xu Si as the ambitious and cunning investor who fell deeply in love with his business partner is so on point like this is how I imagined the character to be. His microfacial expressions and eyes that can display a wide range of emotions are perfect for our Xu Si. Elaine is just so wonderful playing opposite characters, first as a Disney princess and second as the struggling entrepreneur of the nearly bankrupt company. She aced her acting here giving me the impression that if it’s an Elaine drama, this must be good. Our second leads Gao Zhi Ting and Wu Xuanyi as Yang Jian and Xiang Zhaoyang is another beautiful pair. From having a brother-sister relationship (YJ is XZY’s stepbrother after her mother remarried to YJ’s father) to becoming lovers, their romance is more of a mellow type where SML is silently helping and cheering on our SFL on the sidelines, just supporting her even if he was not the one in her heart (or so we thought). The way the actors portray their roles are spot on that I couldn’t help watching out for their scenes as well.
MUSIC:
This is one of the rare dramas out there that has wonderful OSTs. In the other dramas, I find myself liking one or two songs but in RWTW, I love all songs in the soundtrack with Song of Faith by Wu Xuanyi (yes, our beloved Zhaoyang sang this song) as my favorite. The melody, the message, the voice, all these complemented so perfectly. I wish these could be available in Spotify because I would love to listen to these on loop. Anyone knows how can we petition for this?
REWATCH VALUE:
I already started with the rewatch party right after the final episode ends. I couldn’t get enough of this drama. Sepanx is REAL for me that I couldn’t move past RWTW at the moment. There might be scenes I missed in the past in my eagerness to know how the story unfolds. I couldn't be thankful enough to the director and screenwriter of this drama for giving me the best birthday gift I have for this year (I’m a November baby). I love their tandem! Hands down to all the actors and production crew for this masterpiece that has been my daily dose of happiness for the past few weeks.

Rebuilding old-business AND LOVE
I finally finish watching this drama...!!! For 40 episodes, this drama pace is build so well u would not realize starting it and finish it in an instant!What I love about this drama;
- Story development ; It's business based but It's actually not that hard to swallow, we even drawn to the rebuilt of Teng Yue, what Jiang Hu feels towards the growth of Teng Yue, we cheered too as if Teng Yue is our son...!
- Character development ; everyone has flaws, yet they learn how to cope with their mistake, some characters are drawn as egoistic character - esp SFL, but it's just shows that all the actors & actress are so great at portraying their characters, EVEN the support actors & actress acts so well!
- Romance ; Slowburn BUT it's worth the wait, even the process of their romance development is so cute, funny, romantic, and even when towards the end their relationship has been shaken hard, the reconciliation also nice to watch, it really plays with our emotions... Xu Si's love to Jiang Hu is so beautiful, we can see his cute approach to Jiang Hu at the middle of the story, but then we realize that his love to Jiang Hu is too big that he's willing to let go all that he had to keep Teng Yue that Jiang Hu loves so much!
- Music ; it even has (g)i-dle's Yuqi & Ju Jing Yi singing too! And Wu Xuan Yi's voice is so beautiful,,, All the OSTs are top notch, even the lyrics can convey the character's feeling thoroughly, and the music sounds nice!
- Not much fillers ; I even don't feel the need to rise up the speed to fully enjoy it, not like other dramas I skip & speed up on some parts because it's not too interesting, but I never find It when I watch RWTW, I watch it in normal speed & it means that the drama is really great!
- Cinematography ; just like old style Teng Yue, the drama color tone also has beautiful grading color it fits the old style Teng Yue so much! No its not that old-yellowish tone but instead a bluish old tone, I find it so beautiful!
I fall in love with Xu Si & Jiang Hu, this is definitely the best 2023 drama for me! This drama is truly amazing & I love it so much... Thank u director & teams... This drama is so good it enlightened me in a new way... Goodbye Xu Si, Goodbye Jiang Hu, Goodbye Teng Yue... You all will be missed...

ONE OF GONG JUN'S GOOD DRAMA
I wonder if anyone says this drama is not good enough, I think the storyline is very impressive, there is no boring episode. all episodes are very interesting. The ending is also good, although maybe people want to see a marriage scene or hug or kiss.
But overal I think the ending is very good, at least not an open ending that we have to think about. the ending is clear, they are together even though there is no kissing and hugging scene from the ending.
The chemistry between the two main characters is very amazing, they can be a cute and mature couple at the same time.
The cinematography is good, the color take of the drama I like. it doesn't damage the eyes by being too bright.
I highly recommend this drama, in my opinion this is one of the dramas that shows Gong Jun's good acting.

I Give You My Perfect Score ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
For me, this drama is ranked first for Chinese dramas that will air throughout 2023 (considering that 2023 will soon end, it is likely that no other drama will succeed in shifting it).Story:
According to the genre which is Business, Romance (70% of the story is about business and the remaining 30% is about romance). In short, this drama tells the story of Jiang Hu, the daughter of a successful national brand fashion entrepreneur whose father suddenly died and his company went bankrupt, with the last of her pride she risked everything to maintain 'TENGYUE' the first shoe company founded by her father. We will be amazed by Jiang Hu's brilliant and fresh business ideas to revive national brands at a time when many people prefer international brands (China will definitely be proud of this drama).
Now for the romance part, which even though it only makes up 30% of the story, is also the one that will be most anticipated in each episode and is what makes the whole story perfect. The audience will be made to feel all kinds of emotions seeing the interaction between Jiang Hu and Xu Si, the chemistry between them will make us smile ourselves (OMG, that's so...!!!), for Zhao Yang and Yang Jian there will probably be some scenes make you surprised.
Cast:
Zhong Chu Xi as Jiang Hu
One word for her acting is "PERFECT". She played Jiang Hu so perfectly, the emotions she showed made us also feel what she felt. She is also very beautiful in this drama.
Gong Jun as Xu Si
One word for him "HANDSOME", he is very suitable for playing Xu Si. His acting is also very good, it's just that his role doesn't show much emotion, the only emotions he has to show are 'Falling in Love' and 'Falling Out of Love', apart from that he just has to play a 'Cool' which even without acting he is already cool from the start. But there is one thing that is very perfect about his acting, that is his "Deep Gaze" at Jiang Hu.
IMPORTANT:
As is known from most Chinese dramas, no matter how good, there are a lot of unimportant and boring scenes, which make episodes that should be short become long. But surprisingly in "Rising with the Wind", there is not a single unimportant or boring scene that we usually get from a Chinese drama, 40 episodes will be completed in a short time. That's what made me give a perfect score to this drama.
TMI:
When most people are crazy about "Only for Love" (which for me is too romance, sorry). For some reason I fell in love & was crazy about this drama, an example of my insanity, if I remember correctly maybe starting from episode 11 almost every day at 07:30pm I will start opening IQIYI to watch the first 6 minutes of the 2 episodes that were uploaded that day , if anyone is curious "why only the first 6 minutes?" that's because my membership is not VIP, after that at 08:00pm I start opening mkvdrama.org to download the 2 newest episodes, and if there are no updates then every 5-10 minutes I will refresh the website until there is a new upload (Crazy, right? Anyone like me?)
Lastly, a few spoilers that won't spoil the original story:
1. The BTS is more romantic than the scenes in the drama.
2. Many romantic scenes were cut.

One of the best modern cdramas ever
If you love slow burn romance, witty characters, a compelling story, beautiful cinematography, talented actors and characters that always stay true to themselves throughout the whole drama, Rising With The Wind is perfect for you.I loved everything about this show.
The story is different from other recent cdrama, the relationship between the main leads is entertaining and not boring at all. You’ll feel sad, happy, passionate, everything.
The camera shots and the cinematography are so beautiful and they capture perfectly each scene and emotion.
And yes, the chemistry between the main leads went through the roof. They truly were amazing in showing Xu Si and Jiang Hu true personalities and emotions.
It’s definitely a must watch.
