The episode starts off with Wu Xie being trapped under some rocks, and Wu San Xing telling him to stop investigating him. Wu San Xing then leaves Wu Xie to die. Wu Xie then is shown in a hospital, not reacting to outer stimulations until he leaves it because of a note that someone gave him. He then follows the instructions on the note and finds an old man who gives him a news paper. After Wu Xie exits the place, he is kidnapped for a short time and injected some serum. When he wakes up again, he decides to leave the hospital and ditch his two friends Wang Pang Zi and Xie Yu Chen (who is also called Xiao Hua or Mr Hua at later points of the series). After trying to make sense of what he knows, Wu Xie visits someone called Uncle Hai and exchanges Qiling Blood for the information where the place mentioned in the newspaper is. While Wu Xie travels there, Mr Hendry Cox is searching for something that grants him immortality. It turns out that the serum that was injected in Wu Xie is a less concentrated version of what Mr Cox hopes will grant him immortality. After a test of the serum with a mouse fails, Mr Cox gets angry and destroys some things in the laboratory. It is also shown that he works for a boss, the same one as Wu San Xing seems to work for. One of Xie Yu Chen's subordinates was ordered by another party to steal a Snake Eyebrow Copper Fish, but failed. He then is interrogated by Xie Yu Chen and some other subordinates. Meanwhile, Wu Xie arrived at a forest and is saved by Wang Pang Zi, who followed him, when he gets in difficulties with some tree roots. Wu Xie leaves Pang Zi behind again and we find out that Mr Cox has been able to watch them through surveillance device. Wu Xie then enters a tomb, Pang Zi following him when he finds out. They meet again down there and find out that this tomb is somehow connected to the Heavenly Palace on the Clouds, like several tombs before.

Depressing

- Fatty will always be my fav character <3 - I understand that Wu Xie is going through a lot: His uncle turns out to be an asshole, he's been very naive for the last 2 seasons (that alowed people to use him over and over again), he now no longer knows who to trust & he has a lot of unanswered questions. (I would also be very on edge and irritable if I was him)But it makes me sad that the one person that's always been by his side and supports him no matter what (aside from little master) is getting treated like some sort of annoying insect. Fatty stayed by his side for 2+ months after he fell into a coma. (keep in mind: Fatty is also a tomb raider, in the past he would do solo trips) but he stayed with Wu Xie the entire time. And now that Wu Xie is trowing himself into danger, he's back to help him again... But Wu Xie is being VERY distante. It makes me sad. I hope that it won't stay like that... - I don't mind the new actor for Wu Xie, but he's just so angry. It's like he's going through puberty all of a sudden... there's just no warmth with him (I mean in the acting) The previous 2 actors, even if the character was going through bad times, they always kept the warmth of the character alive. But this Wu Xie feels empty. I'm sure that it's direction choice that the actor had to follow, but it's just so depressing. - I'm watching the show in the chronological order so I've just finished tomb 2. And honestly, this episode makes me sad. How can this be the follow up from Tomb 2? It's so depressing...

Readjust to a new face and story

Keep in mind that this technically happens right after The Lost Tomb 2 or you're going to be confused for a bit. One of the main characteristics about The Lost Tomb series is that you always have new face for the characters you already know. In this particular episode it thankfully is only Wu Xie, as Zhang Bo Yu was recasted as Wang Pang Zi (Fatty) after portraying him in Time Raiders (The movie which isn't directly connected to the series) and The Lost Tomb 2. Also, the people portraying Wu San Xing in the past and present, as well as the people in the past in general don't seem to have changed, which is quite a relief for me. As it's only the first episode, it once again is the time to readjust and find out what's actually going on time, which might take away some of the enjoyment. But I was positively surprised to see Wu Xie and Pang Zi in a tomb already, different from other times, where it took a long time for a tomb to even be mentioned (at least from what I remember).
