Aviation Fail

What promised to be a show about the aviation industry and people working hard within it, devolved into toxic office politics, an equally toxic relationship quad, an FL that was bashed with everything humanly possible and an ML with the EQ of a human rock formation. This isn't to dissuade people to watch if they're enjoying it but for me the constant stream of negativity was too much. I put it on hold for a while and now after thinking carefully, have decided not to pick it up again. Hope for those eagerly waiting for the ML to thaw, to get their wish. But I absolutely do not recommend this one. Plenty of others to choose from.

Cute Romance Story and China's Pride

I don't know what it takes to make a good film, production values and technology and such but... The main stars and supporting cast were all wonderful. I started watching this drama because it looked mildly interesting and I didn't see anything else at the moment. As I watched the story became richer and more interesting. The progression of the love story was extremely satisfactory and learning about the Chinese civil air industry was fascinating. A side note to the Chinese: Congratulations on your new Chinese designed and built airliner.
I'm glad I caught this drama and it was well worth my time to watch it. Wang Kai and Seven Tan were an excellent pair together.

work drama, nothing special

If you have watched most of Tan Song Yun's show, her character here is very much like other shows - I wouldn't think it's a breakthrough or anything. I feel like this show is similar to Master of my own, in a sense where there is workplace romance, mature adults, slow paced and also no big drama or anything.

Show revolve around the main leads and their lives as pilot at Lu Zhou Airlines. I can't rate based on the technicality as to how real it was to real life aviation but the show does not really bore you and moves on fast. Don't expect the romance to be super fluffy kind or anything like that. There is abit of love triangle but nothing too much, romance between main leads only start towards the end of the show.

There are also some story on the supporting characters... which is boring to me.. didn't really enjoy the story on the female lead friend so i usually skip through it.

Recommend to watch if you're into work drama. Skip if you're not. The romance part got nothing much to offer. Both leads are pretty good but chemistry is quite meh.

An outstanding story on a serious take about people working in the field of aviation

This drama was created in perfection. Literally, I can’t point out any disapproving things about it. The story was brilliantly written. Whenever I watched a drama, I would start rating it after the first episode and this one already got a rating scale of ten (10) from me instantly. It was consistent all throughout the entire episodes unlike other dramas that would start nicely but a disappointment in the end or the other way around.

Great acting!!! I am praising Wang Kai’s performance here in particular though Tang Song Yun is one of my favorite actresses; he emerged as the one who played the role with the most conviction. The romantic facet in this drama was something else also, it was less but more. Who says less physical intimacy and not being a couple would not make you flutter and your heart skips a beat? Well, this drama proved it that way. I have watched Tang Song Yun paired with other actors but she was perfectly suited with Wang Kai. You would see here that there was a natural chemistry between them.

This drama was well-researched. I guessed it could influence someone who has an eye for any career in the aviation industry. It not only shows the visual representation of an aircraft, an airport, and the hangar but also reflects the reality of the life of the people working with passion, dedication, and value-oriented.

Sometimes I tend to connote a drama depicting a serious subject to be boring but “Flight To You” dismissed that idea. I ended up watching this after seeing a posted review about it on this platform, otherwise, I would have missed a quality drama.

You better watch this as well.

Any drama with Wang Kai in the lead has my attention.

After half a year, I finally found a good Chinese drama to binge on what with the recent popularity to cast good faces that lack talent in cliche dramas whose episodes span just over four minutes.

Everything about "Flight to You" was perfect - the cast, the plot, the pacing, the romance, the ending, it was all quite engaging.

I have been a dedicated fan of Wang Kai's ever since his roles in Author Ding Mo's famous drama adaptations - "Love me if you dare" and "When a snail falls in love" because he takes his roles seriously. We can always expect more from his dramas than just some pretty boy CEO who pines for attention. Tan Songyun is familiar to me since she starred in "Go Ahead" - a 2020 hit, which I confess, I haven't had the chance to watch but she surprised me, in a good way, with her portrayal of Cheng Xiao, a straightforward, dedicated pilot whose aspiring to be a female captain at Luzhou Air. Tan Songyun definitely did justice to her character and now, I'm a fan.

We NEED more of these kinda series, those 39 episodes just flew by.

Self growth comes from perseverance, ability to listen, and trusting yourself

A story of a ChengXiao, a strong minded and bold person, trying to survive where the discriminations of gender is a great issue in the job.

What I love:
You can never go wrong with Wang Kai and Seven Tan. Still their acting was a top notch, I do not have complain. Honestly, I almost gave up in the first 10 episodes because of too much prejudice between the leads but after that everything was smooth flow. Understanding the importance of each roles in the aviation industry will give you full respect in them. From the captain, cabin crew, mechanic/maintenance team and also the passengers, all their struggles and problem perfectly demonstrate in the story.

This drama has a slow burning romance but handle it properly. The relationship growth between Gu Nan Ting that has trauma issues with Chen Xiao who was bold and strong minded person. I have a lots of giggle, squealing and butterfly on my stomach while watching their little flirting. It is really a breath of fresh air.. I love it so much!!!

Complain:
My little complain is I wish they solve their misunderstanding at least in episode 30-32 so that we can see more in their relationship. But that episode 37-38 is really worth the wait!! I'm smiling again.. Indeed they got a great chemistry...

Overall it's a great drama for a viewers that didn't like business like drama like me... I learned a lot, reflecting on my actions when I was still young like cheng Xiao.

Finally Mature Looking Men

After watching a barrage of beautiful young men with glowing skin in my screen, this show brings some mature looking men and I'm not complaining. Minimal skinship, the romance part is a bit draggy and I wish the ML was a bit less timid. The FL is satisfyingly strong and outspoken without being outrageous. I lost a bit of patience by the last leg but still think it's worth watching. I find the second couple's romance cute, unfortunately their budding romance doesn't get enough screen time.

For Tan Song Yun's character Cheng Xiao, I give 10 stars! Although in the beginning she was a bit rash, I admire her confidence, perseverance, and sense of humor. She worked hard to be the best pilot she could be and didn't disregard feedback and criticism. She stands up for herself and stands up for what's right, even if she's standing alone. And refreshingly, she's not afraid to express her feelings!!

As for the drama itself, I loved it up to episode 24, at which point a turn of events annoyed me so much that it took me a while to finish the series. Wang Kai and Tan Song Yun had really great chemistry and I loved all their scenes together. I gained so much insight into pilots, flight attendants, and how airlines operate. For the most part, I liked the supporting characters (and disliked the ones that you're supposed to dislike) and my only gripe is Xia Zhi remaining angry for too long when she was clearly in the wrong.

Overall, a good watch but could have been better.

Love this drama - a slow-burn but a mature and respectful love relationship

I love "Flight to You," and I love actress Seven Tan. I first watched her in "Go Ahead" in 2020 and thought she was a good actress, and I have followed her ever since.

I have not watched anything that Wang Kai was in until now. He is a decent and handsome actor. I may check him out again in future drama.

What I like about Flight to You are the following:
- Cheng Xiao and Gu Nanting are very interesting characters, and Seven Tan and Wang Kai played them well.
- It is an interesting story about a female pilot and the scrutiny she has to go through in a male-dominated field. It was great to see how she overcame it.
- Their love story is mature, respectful, and slow-burn, so it was great to see the progression of their relationship.
- I think the drama would be better at 35 episodes, and I didn't like the ending. I was hoping it would show that they got married, but instead, it hinted that they were moving in together. She is off flying while he remains on the ground.
- The production quality of the show is quite good.

Overall, I enjoyed it very much; the acting skills were good, both from the lead actor/actresses and the supporting cast. I give it a 7.8 rating, but I have to choose 7.5 since the site does not support it.

Solid take off, bumpy landing!

This drama is a very ambitious story about a female pilot and her struggles in surviving the misogynistic world and having her own personal career growth. Cheng Xiao’s growth from a freight pilot to a passenger flight Captain was very well done. Finding a mentor in Gu Nanting, she slowly evolves to be a responsible and mature person, while falling in love during the process. Seven nails this role and as always it’s a joy to watch her.
The romance is ‘slow burn’ and the leads really sold the romance. Gu Nanting’s personal issues and the way he overcame it over time was relatable. Frustrating at times but was in sync with his character. Wang Kai brought Gu Nanting to life.
The biggest flaw of the drama is the last few episodes before the finale. They dragged the plot with unnecessary legal stuff, mother’s arc etc. All these we could have done without. It brought down the momentum.
Overall still a good drama. A solid 7.5. Would have been a 8.5 if it landed well.

A Growth

I got hooked with this movie. Although the romance scene is so few, but what's interesting in this drama is about the pilot's life. Everytime we are on board, we've never thought about pilot dan crew members' hardship.

This drama told a lot about Cheng Xiao's path into being a Captain. At first she is too headstrong, almost nothing can break her confidence. Later, we saw her slowly matured, slowly accepted all opionions about her shortcomings, and how she became better and better.

I didn't really like Gu Nanting's character, even until the end. At first he rejected Cheng Xiao, beacuse of his guilt about Ni Zhan's sister death. I thought he would change, but even until the end of the episodes, he was still the one who shouldered everthing, never talked about his problems. I thought it would be better if he changed as well.

Anyway, this movie is so realistic, covered so many cases and realistic problems, made me on the edge of my seat, especially about the plane's cases.

I've had my prejudices against idol dramas. This changed everything.

Doing this from the top of my head after an all-nighter so please excuse the rather spotty memory. A warning for spoilers!

It's truly amazing how fast your views can change when idol dramas are acted by people who actually know what acting is. Always a pleasure to watch both leads on screen, and the supporting cast absolutely stole the show (Ni Zhan, you deserved so much better in the love department).

Now, I will admit that the story had a few parts (especially in the beginning oh my god) where I just considered flopping my forehead on the table and just, staying there. When I tell you the miscommunication/zero communication levels were off the damn charts? Like I get that it's realistic that two headstrong personalities and unbending wills would clash like that but sometimes a whole argument could be avoided if one of them just... literally spoke less.

Cheng Xiao's arcs were very realistic as someone trying to make it in a male-dominated industry. I like how she's such a girl's girl and maintains friendly relationships with even her "love rivals", something I don't see very often done well with idol dramas of the same calibre. Her story with her mum was also very good. I come from a family like hers so it was very refreshing seeing it be realistically solved by the finale, gives all of us oldest daughters a bit of hope (if you know you know haha...).

Also, every time that Jiang Tao was on screen I wanted to roll my eyes so bad. He was funny for a while, but then crossed the line when he threatened Yicheng (who is a single parent, mind you) with his daughter's education. Good riddance by the way, he deserved what he got at the end.

I can't really speak for the technical stuff (like all the plane jargon really got me like O.o sometimes), but from what I've seen from the reviews from actual aviation enthusiasts on the Chinese side, it seems to be pretty accurate. Props to the production team for good research on that end, most idol dramas would not give a fuck, that's for sure. I learnt quite a bit too, definitely gonna recommend this to my grandma who hates flying.

Overall, it's nice if you want a non-romance romance drama if you're like me who cringes at the thought of watching people kiss, but the relationships get very funky very fast so do bring along some paper to do your note-taking.
