Absolutely wonderful
Just finished watching it. Absolutely wonderful drama that was. The acting the emotions oh god everything was portrayed so beautifully. Kind of makes me want to go out and do something with my life instead of sitting in my home watching dramas haha.China's most handsome man xiao zhan and China's husband johnny huang both did a great job❤
my first ever chinese drama was johnny's so i am very emotionally attached to him, i loved him here. And do i HAVE to say sth for bunnyxiaozhan's talent for acting? He always gave me chills my goodness that man takes my breath away everytime with his realistic acting and those facial expressions. He's a method actor which is just cherry on top. Both their characters were fantastic. Overall a very intense ride that was ngl.

Gu Yiye a winner
This military drama is surprisingly enjoyable. Gu Yiye played by Xiao Zhan is an interesting and very endearing character. He’s smart, brave, righteous and driven to achieve his goals. Although kind-hearted he doesn’t back down from a fight (especially with Gao Liang - played by Johnny Huang Jingyu the other male lead). There’s a ruggedness and masculinity not seen in Xiao Zhan’s past roles that is very attractive. He had lots of chemistry with Elaine Zhong Chuyi (Jiang Nan Zheng), Bai Lu (Hu Yang) and Mao Lin Lin (A Xiu). There’s a sweet youthful romance, an intense male rivalry and struggles of military life. The dreams of young soldiers are forever changed by adversities they face and tough choices they make. The development of a true Ace Force requires tough training, real battles and sacrifice. I found Gu Yiye’s determination, perseverance and responsibility to be heart-warming and inspiring. The storyline becomes is a bit disjointed in the last ten episodes (probably due to post/production cuts). The final drama delivered is not as good as it could have been, but every scene with Gu Yiye is worth watching. Xiao Zhan delivers a phenomenal performance as Gu Yiye.
A bonus is the beautiful ending song “We Used to Be Together” sung by Xiao Zhan and Tan Weiwei. Plus Bai Lu’s guest appearance and “bite” in Episode 1 is precious!

Disappointed
As a historian, I have to say that this series has distorted history. If the story is bad, so there are no way I will continue watching this trash. I'm not the one who watch this films because of some famous actors so I only care about the story and how they based it. I don't know did your guys wrote this story because of somebody have ordered it or not but that just make me feel really disappointed............................................................................................................???Was this review helpful to you?
