Ieyasu shocks his vassals by revealing his long-hidden plan to kill Nobunaga. The retainers are split, but Tadatsugu urges trust in Ieyasu’s resolve. As thanks for the Fuji trip, they are invited to Azuchi Castle. At the banquet, Ieyasu remarks that the fish smells off. Nobunaga lashes out at Akechi and removes him from the table.
