Official Fu proposes a martial arts competition in the capital to get rid of martial arts rebels among them. En route to Foshan, Hu Fei encounters Yuan Zi Yi, who takes his belongings. They meet up in Foshan, where they see corrupt officials accusing innocent people of misdeeds and punishing them harshly. Prequel is over and the main story finally starts

with our main character, clever young Hu Fei, finally grown up (~18 years old) having lived a tough life by himself, training constantly and preparing to get his revenge. So he arrives in the story and .... immediately turns into a naive country-bumpkin idiot who quickly loses all his stuff and his horse and is reduced to begging in the streets? I guess this was done for plot humor purposes but it was not done particularly well.
