Just sort of okay
Episode 1 was good. I thought it was interesting and felt that the story line was captivating enough. I even had a little laugh. Episode 2 started out okay but then I was thinking, what’s the point here, what in the world is actually going on. Episode 3 had me confused and doubting whether or not I wanted to continue. The events seemed somewhat random, I had no idea who the male lead is and even though I knew why things happened in episode 1, there seemed to be no hint as to why anyone was doing anything. It picks up again around episode six but I feel that it also becomes a bit repetitive. Bad things happen, the blame the supposed bad guy without hearing, seeing or knowing a thing. The interaction between the leads got a littler better around episode 20 however our leading lady somewhat continues to be a bit difficult. Around episode 32 there was some growth on her character from 33 to 36. I really enjoy those episodes.

This Drama is Amazing
One of the best drama of Song Yiren, the Storyline might be same like time travels but twist and turn and romance between the FL and ML is very good. liking every bit of it. Day by day this drama gets me hooked. This drama deserve 9.5/10 rating, as the music, storyline line, acting and gradually increasing love between the leads, Don’t know why people don’t like the Fl, just because she is flat ? I don’t think she is very pretty as well as her chemistry with ML is super. Enjoying the every bit of this drama and early waiting for episode to come.
I hope this drama doesn’t have the Sad Ending. I want the ending happy☺️.

The girl entered her own novel
I enjoyed this drama it had definitely sweet touch on my heart and I loved how her death wasn't actually a death but a return in her own original life and she met there by accident the ML again and they reunited when she came back to her original world but my reason was she specifically why I wanted to watch it andWas this review helpful to you?
Great story, but the ending is not for all
I'll keep this as spoiler free as possible. The story is quite interesting, an author is getting sucked in her own novel to change the ending and she falls in love with the main bad guy of the story.
I was casually watching it and found it quite cozy and fun, however the ending was what for me made me rank it kind of low.
It is not for all and I felt like they added unnecessary drama just cause "why not".
You can't always have a happy end for all, BUT make it make sense if you choose to do it.

Protagonist entered into their novel
I already had seen such genre story before . That a story writer entered to their story . Only because of female lead I didn't find the story bored . Her acting skills always bind audience with the story otherwise did have much to show because nothing new inside the story same as other story but they brought something different that made hero villain..how again he becomes hero this had shown in the story .But no happy with the ending . He recognised her and drama over . I started liking this part but .

Well WRITTEN. Justified at its finest.
I freakin don't know why I drop this the first time I watch the first 3 eps. Because THIS WAS FREAKIN GOOD! Oh, I know. Maybe I got a hangover that time with the TROTAR or LBFAD and wasn't that hook.BUT NOW, I'M GLAD I CAME BACK! Ghad, this was well written. The first eps really messed up the stories she created to the point that almost 80% of what happened became clueless to Qing and to me. Of course, her personality was the biggest factor for humor, and the fact that she was just being herself will not make you feel cringe at all. What I like the most about her character is that she never let unresolved problems have a big effect on their relationship. Overall, I love her character throughout her journey. She made me laugh and cry. If she's a real writer, I would like to be her apprentice ahaha. Kiddos to the ones who really write this story!
And the ML. You know, making an innocent into a villain was not portrayed in many series because of how easy it is to ruin something precious. But, this plot might not be new but always interesting. Villains turn to someone who becomes aware of understanding etc. That's hella work and that's why it was interesting. The ML was so awesome in transitioning from his hatred to his love. I always repeat scenes every time he shows care and rare expressions. His ending was quite nice and justified. Love that they put that bonus scene at the scene so my heart did not settle to heaviness- not because it's painful but because of loneliness. His wish was really heart-melting and glad it was granted. I was contented that they met at the end!
Then the 2nd character. Which was supposedly the male lead to Qing's story. I usually give more attention to all 2nd characters but this time, I was more focused on someone else aside from the leads. Back to the 2nd chara, I always wonder if writers could make a story work with the same setting as this, without making the supposedly lead to be tainted or somehow bad. Yeah, I know that the lead must shine and develop. Well, I'm just wondering and maybe when I get inspiration, I'll be that writer. Jk. But oh well, even if he was tainted, that's still a character development and choices he made for himself.
Oh, I have a question about this character that I think, was not answered. How would the 2nd male chara have affection for Qing in the first eps when he supposedly fell in love with his own lead, aka 2nd female chara. I mean, it could work if he had past events with Qing that made him fell right? huhuhu I need an answer.
The person I mentioned above who caught my attention was the 2nd female character who was supposedly the FL in Qing's story. I like how she becomes consistent throughout the series. She has been in love with the crown prince ever since and plus, they had a happy ending at the end! She deserves it. I kinda feel bad about how unfair it was to her throughout the series, then atlast, at the end... They got a nice ending that she deserved. Nyahaha I remember the flaw that Qing put in her character. She was like Zoro in cdrama ahahahah.
Then the villain. Family is a blessing and sometimes a burden. If you don't agree. Then don't! I'll cite some samples that really become the center of chaos in this story. First, the 2nd Female character. She was fine and nice until she was found by her family. Which not only restrained her freedom but gave up her job as coroner. She kinda sacrifices things she had throughout her life just because she found her family. Next was the revenge for the Su Family. The flashbacks tell that they let Qi revenge for their death-- which kinda made me feel disappointed that they drove him to that instead of wishing to live and let go. Which become the biggest factor in his rs. Then the tragedy of Princes. Frankly, I feel bad for them. The rotten minds of their parents become their food and poison. Suck up all "it's for your best". pwe. That phrase becomes a lie when a parent never tries to understand the mental and emotional health of their kids. I always disagree with the phrase that the Karma was always bestowed to their child or the sin of the parents will be passed down to children. That's the most unreasonable thing I ever heard. Look what happened to their children. Who suffers the most now? Are they happy seeing their children suffer because of what they did assuming they did the best for them? I was not pissed off by the villain. Actually, I choose not to feel the angst about her behavior and choices. I chose not to allow her to tap my emotions because I knew that her greediness would backfire on her and the worst of it was her children shielded her blindly. Which she would never deserve.
And the 3rd couple. Ghad! Maybe the first two were justified and have satisfaction. But Qi and Xi Yao? That last part was super unexpected and depressing. They deserve to be happy too huhuhu. This also put gasoline to the fire for what I was talking about in the last paragraph. Heck, debt that child will pay. Like what the fudge. The wrap-up of the story becomes sad because of this part. I have high hopes that they also have a reunion at the modern but oh well. I'm not always into open endings but I hope they had other lives and they live on their happiest moments.
Special mentioned to Prince Feng and his supposed bride. Throughout the series, I kinda hoping that Qing will rewrite the story and bring back this couple. I was imagining what would happen if they developed. But I guess, Qing was satisfied with the ending so am I.
Overall, this was a wrap! The progress of leads was never boring and even though the relationship started in the middle, it did not feel like it! Especially there's a lot of happening at the first part. I like how to balance the peace and chaos in this series. They allow the characters to have peaceful moments and to enjoy and have memories with each other. Even though this was categorized as romcom, I was astonished that it has a shade of dark theme, not a shallow plot and it did not feel cringe at any comical scene they had. Maybe because the humor in this series was more on to Qing's personality which became natural, funny, and adorable.

A masterpiece!!!
First of all, this is such an underrated drama!!I hope more Cdrama fans find this drama and give their support to the actors and actresses!
Plot:
I was genuinely taken by surprise with the plot twists. I have watched my fair share of dramas ( Cdramas, Kdramas and Jdramas). Which means I have watched a lot of tropes and there isn't really a lot of legroom to work with, to make it truly surprising anymore (for me at least).
So yes, while it's the fun trope of a writer who gets sucked into her story, Different Princess does differentiate from the norm.
Meaning, Hue Qing Ge (FL) played by Ireine Song was sucked into her novel not because she was sick or because of an unforseen accident but actually due to there being too many bad reviews and too much animosity towards her as a writer (because of how she ended the novel).
Then having to change the ending while trying to survive Ji Chu (ML) played by Ding Ze Ren was a very entertaining aspect of the plot. Finding out who the true evil master mind was, was a really big shock.
I won't add any more spoilers, but OH MY I really was NOT expecting any of the twists.
Pace: Being about 30min each, the episodes ended with just enough tension and questions to want to start the next episode. But not too much, as to be an overwhelming cliffhanger.
Acting: Hats off to the directors for casting these actors and actresses! There was amazing chemistry between all the cast members!
Ding Ze Ren: He really brought life to his character Ji Chu! (ML) (third prince) . He has one of those presences that just steals all the spotlight. His eyes are so expressive that no matter the emotion, be it hate or love, you on the other side of the screen will feel it. His character is so well rounded, with His cunningnes and intelligence that set him apart from all the typical arrogant male leads there are in dramas. And his gentleness, loyalty and love that he hides deep in his heart.
Ji Chu is my all time new favorite Cdrama character.
I really am excited to see more dramas from Ding Ze Ren in the future!
Ireine Song: She portrayed her character Hue Qing Qe ( FL) really well, a perfect balance of cutsie and clumsy. Her character was very relatable, which was refreshing to watch.
Sun Zu Jun: His character Ji Yun (the crown prince) is a gentle soul who has affections for (FL) His acting was really great to watch, he really portrayed the struggles of the crown prince fantastically.
Zhu Rong Jun: Playing Lin Xi Yao. She did an amazing job of being completely devoted to the crown prince, her love was unconditional and beautiful. She was just what the crown prince needed.
Zhang Yue Nan: she plays Ji Wan Er ( the only Princess) her character is sooo sweet and endearing, I wish it could have ended differently for her and Gong Ye Qi.
Lin Lu: His acting as Gong Ye Qi is really great. I was actually quite scared of him in the first half, not gonna lie.
Wang Jun Zhe: His character Ji Feng, ( second prince) was so heart breaking. You just want to wrap him up in a blankie and keep him safe!!
The romance: It is a bit of a slow burn romance, in the sense that it really only picks up in the second half of the drama ( for the main couple) . But it was cute and fluffy (There is a bit of a steamy scene between the two main leads ) for those who enjoy that aspect.
The romance between the SFLs and SMLs was proportional to their characters' personalities
Costumes: They were beautiful, befitting every role of the diffrent characters.
Music: The Ost was truly fitting for the drama, I could find no fault in the directors choices.
Ending: I would have appreciated a few more scenes of the two main leads in the real world.
But considering the well rounded Cdrama that it was, I can't really have asked for anything more.
Overall: I really enjoyed this Cdrama and I think you will too!!

The make up of the FL is terrible
I just wanted to highlight how terrible the make up and wardrobe of the FL and 2nd FL (Princess Wan Er). I get it that this is under budgetted drama, but shouldn't the actresses receives the same attention as the lead actors. At least all the Lead Actors got colors and excellent fabrics. The FL horrible make up made her look like she just run a marathon all the time, her lipstick is barely there, she's a frickin princess why she looks like an average maid? Because of this, I just couldn't seem to find the FL acting and visual pleasant to the eyes. Not to mention I hated the way her face fidgetted all the time makes her look old and unattractive, even when the scene did not require her to do so she kept doing it. I do wish she tone it down. I think if her make up is spot on, she calms down and act naturally she looks cute.
It's really too bad, because ML is simply gorgeous. He has one of the best Bods for C-Drama actors I ever know, aside Deng Lun and Wang An Yu. (I don't get why most C-drama Actors have very thin bods, is it the norms in China?).
I do fast forward a lot, and got bored with all the royal palace harem politics stuff, but I find the ending acceptable, FL finally meet ML again in real life ends the drama with a nice feeling.
Will I watch again? maybe but maybe not. I still can't accept a princess with barely there make up.

A common troupe but fascinating watch
You know how you watch the typical cdrama and you forget later on cause most leave barely nothing to dwell on?Well, it's different here!
The plot really was fascinating and I was always eager to see what would happen next. More importantly, the ML visuals was to-die-for!!!
Yes, I personally think they could have done much much better with the FL, but it was still okay.
Though same crappy time-travel into novel ending to be expected ?

This drama is a comedy with a good blend of action, suspense, thrilling moments, and a very slow burned romance that ends up been cute for the most part with a few nice romantic moments. The cast, for the most part, did a good job bringing their characters to life and the transmigration story with the female lead trying to change the story but losing control of the plot was well written. The male lead, Ji Chu (played by Ding Ze Ren), did a great job portraying the antihero that has an excellent character growth and did very well showing his feelings toward the female lead, but the leading lady, Hua Qing Ge (played by Ireine Song), was written as a modern woman that transmigrates to the past but behaves like a teenager with some serious mistrusting issues, almost all the way to the end. She did well with her comedic lines but she was too stiff and feeble as a woman in love. Overall, the drama is quite enjoyable and entertaining; it has great cinematography and a beautiful and well suited OST. Was this review helpful to you?
