Resetting this drama again and again...

Have you ever woken up and thought; yesterday was great, wish I can have that all over again. But what if you are caught in a day loop where you die in the bus explosion? Only to wake up on the same day and have it happen all over again and again. So, it is for a young college student, Li Shi Qing. What happened? Can she break out of the repetitive cycle?
After hearing so much about this drama, I finally managed to watch it though admittedly a tad late. It is relatively short for a C-Drama, only 15 episodes which I felt it is the right pacing for this drama. They did away with any gap fillers or any attempt to drag the show longer for the sake of it. It was straight to the point.
It is easy to think this is another "Groundhog Day" drama but it is so much better. There is a slight bit of comedy and attraction but it delivers a great drama that had me guessing, what I would try next if I was in her shoes.
The drama also manages to avoid taking this drama down the scientific route, but the drama stays true to its course - suspense/thriller. It focuses on the human element, the confusion, the panic, and the different twist. It opened up the background of each person on the bus - to at times heart-warming and other times, tear-jerking moments. All the while producing a wonderful journey that is worth the ride.
The drama was different worth the hype. The lead actress Zhao Jin Mai is gorgeous and brilliant and the chemistry she shares with Bai Jing Ting is great as their relationship evolves throughout the drama. The other cast members are also excellent, notably Liu Yi Jun who plays Zhang Cheng.
The scores of the C-Dramas can be interesting, it can do or kill a show, especially when it is out of the era of the show – such as using English songs for costume drama. But the music for this drama is good, setting the right tempo.
Overall, really enjoyed this drama, I did it in one sitting over a couple of days. It was so good that it keep me glued to the sofa with the exception of the occasional toilet break and opening the door for Uber.

This is a hidden gem

Wow! I marathon through this drama, I like actors and it is thrilling to watch. Because of this drama I am looking for more Chinese drama with thrill and suspense. Since it's thriller and suspense giving spoilers is same as killing the story so I won't but I will tell you that you won't regret spending your time watching this.
The review of reset ends here. I am too lazy to write 500 words and I don't want to spoil the drama so I am copying other drama review to make it bigger. It alright if you don't read it.

TRUE LOVE CAN ALWAYS WAIT JUST LIKE A FRUIT BEARS AT THE RIGHT TIME

So much going on on this episode, let's start on Cher making the most of his moments with Boss Gun, I was touched, I can never really blame myself loving this drana on the first time I watched it, Gun without knowing that Cher was gonna leave him for a while, he was so happy.. ForceBook's acting here was so amazing I really love it, the first episodes where I thought that this drama has no path to go through, I was wrong, sometimes in love, even when we thought we should not mind other people is saying coz we know that they have nothing to do in our lives and decisions, it is also right to make things right, right? Also right to be successful first before allowing someone to enter your life so that in the near future it wont be hard for the both of you, coz I believe even when we know we love someone, love is not enough and here Cher I believe made the right decision arranging everything about his life so that he wont be a burden to Boss Gun, it was also for his pride that no one can look down on him because he became successful in his studies. Now I am about to finish this drama, only one episode left and I am missing them already ! ??? .. literally maybe not one of the best but this drama is one of the special and memorable one for me ! And watching a drama where you like the actor playing is damn giving huge contribution right to good reviews right ? ?

Buckle Up for the Reset Rollercoaster!"

Reset is like a breath of fresh air in the world of time-loop dramas, stepping away from the usual Chinese speculative fiction tropes. Reset, with its daily bus explosion routine, might sound repetitive, but guess what? Every moment is like a necessary puzzle piece, making it oddly addictive. I usually stay away from time loops because they're a plot hole minefield, but Reset? Tight writing, no confusing gaps—total game-changer!

Now, what sets this gem apart? Brace yourself for some character development magic! Bai Jing Ting and Zhao Jin Mai steal the limelight, but it's not a one-star show. Oh no, we're diving into the lives of other passengers and detectives too, adding layers upon layers to the plot cake. The pacing? Nailed it. You'll be glued from the get-go, with no temptation to hit that skip button.

Now, we're talking about a 15-episode rollercoaster, and every character gets a front-row seat. They're not just plot tools; they're real people with stories that matter. The main duo? They're not cardboard cutouts. Bai Jing Ting and Zhao Jin Mai bring them to life, flaws and all. And don't get me started on the supporting cast—the passengers on the bus are the heart and soul of this rollercoaster. You'll be rooting for their safety as much as the main characters are.

And oh, the performances! The cast doesn't just act; they pull you into their world of time loops and emotional rollercoasters. The unexpected romance? It's like a sprinkle of sugar in your coffee – sweet, unexpected, and it keeps you wanting more.

But here's the twist – these protagonists aren't the usual clueless bunch. No frustrating moments of yelling at the screen because they missed an obvious clue. Reset's characters are like your mystery-solving buddies, making you feel like you're right there with them, piecing things together.

Now, despite the villains and intense moments, Reset doesn't weigh you down. It's like a perfect cocktail – suspense, emotions, happiness, sadness, and a splash of humor. It's not just a drama; it's an adventure you sign up for with a grin, not a grimace. The creators? They deserve a round of applause for this masterpiece. It's clear they poured their hearts and creativity into making Reset not just a drama but a captivating and well-crafted story that leaves you wanting an encore. Cheers to the creators – they've made time loops a thrilling joyride!

interesting storyline, keeps you occupied

This drama from the start till the end, keeps you going non-stop. It's almost like a journey with the main leads - suspecting everyone, trying out different ways, going through the time loop again and again. Here's the thing, you don't know when will the last time loop be, you don't know how each time loop is gonna affect you and what would be the best solution for everyone? that's for you to find out. With just 15 episodes, you explore 8 suspects with 2 main leads, there are so much going on., but it's very interesting to find out.

First off, I would like to give credit to all the actor and actresses in this show. All of them acted so well that made me invested in the story. I was watching this at night and found it thrilling towards the end (at that point when the truth unfolds).
Second, character development both leads had - from a simple minded youngster to trust and love between the both of them. At each loop, they are stuck in the dilemma to save themselves or everyone in the bus but i love how their choices change as their personality grow too.

However, this show could have been better if certain parts are more well explained. For example:
- how does this time loop thing happened?
- why does meng meng became erratic from her scared/afraid nature after the molestation
- the ending seems so easy for the police to believe the MLFL compared to the previous time loops
- why the cat guy didnt get into time loop?

I've watched a similar genre time loop drama from Hong Kong years ago called Over Run Over EU超時任務 which is as good as this. I recommend that if you enjoy this drama too :)

Overall, the rewatch value for this show is low as it would have already spoil all the fun & thrill for me already. However, for people that are hesitating/finding a good show to watch, then i would highly recommend this!!! It's a hit for me in terms of plot, acting, non-draggyness, suspense, thrill, little bit of romance.

An all around great show.

This show was so good! It's touching its trilling all of it's characters get to be real people the plot actually makes sense. The cops might occasionally make you mad but even though they aren't the stars of the show they aren't bumbling idiots and you even get attached to them. MC and ML have really good chemistry and make a wonderful team. And here's the real proof that this is just a really good show. although I love Asian dramas mainly Korean but others as well I think this is probably the first one I've recommended to people who weren't fans of the genre. because this isn't just good for a c-drama or even good for an Asian drama its just really good, period.

One Of The Best Drama I Have Seen

Best drama I have seen. The characters are wonderful especially the leading character. The female character leads you with strength and smarts and keeps up with every twist of the story. The lead character played by Bai Jing Ting ( he is such a good actor)tries to be protective but listen to the lead character and start to help find a solution. Both take us to every minute of the drama biting your nails and you cannot leave your chair. As they take a bus ride you are on the bus with them threw every adventure. A must see if you like mystery and suspense. If you like to solve puzzles, this is a drama for you. The actors performance is great and I mean all the actors did a great job.

The thrilling journey of investigating

I have just finished watching the last episode and am in awe and wet tissues. Yes, I bawled my eyes out :,) I have seen MANY dramas, but I have to say this is one of the best ones I have ever seen. I could not take my eyes off it. I do not want to spoil anything, so I will describe what I think about the series.

So this is a thrilling series with a bit of romance and characters you will get attached to (I meant the personalities but yes, they are also very charming :D). As you might have already thought, this is mostly about one accident and two people trying to solve it to help people and get out of the time-lapse. It may sound like an ordinary investigation, but the way it is written, the plot twist and the way you could feel everything the characters felt thanks to the actors is just outstanding. There were also no scenes I would delete or add - they felt just right. The music and how it is filmed will make you forget that this is just a series and draw you into the story.

If you think about whether to watch it or not, watch it. I know there are many movies with the same topic of time-lapse, but believe me, you have never seen something like this. If you like stories with tension, mystery and investigation, I recommend you watch the series. Enjoy <3

Get Ready For A Wild Ride!

I came across Reset (2022) on Viki, and the plot summary intrigued me: A group of people stuck on a bus doomed to the same accident, and two characters constantly fighting to leave a time loop?? Sounds like a blast!! I was expecting an action-thriller that is similar to films like: Speed, (1994) or The Source Code. (2011) However, the plot is a psychological cat and mouse game of not only getting off the bus, but dealing with the suspicions of the cops as well. There are times when I felt as trapped as the characters were, and that alone is a great reason to check out the drama. The suspense is nail-biting, and will definitely leave you at the end of your seats. I was wondering if the two leads: Xiao He Yun and Li Shi Qing will ever be able to leave their situation. Unharmed. Lastly, detective Zhang Chang's character definitely stole the show for me. His interrogations made me wish that there was a C-Drama with just his character alone!! If anyone is looking for a solid psychological thriller, this should definitely be added to the list!!

Great! until it isn't?

I really liked this show! Episodes 1-7 are basically perfect!

At the halfway point things start to take a dip? I felt that the establish patterns of certain bus passengers were being disregarded in favor of a more dramatic presentation?

Earlier in the story our main characters are held down by the other bus passengers for attempting to leave the bus... but when the culprit is revealed and pulls a knife on the main characters all the passengers including FOUR men all stand by and watch the FL get her throat slashed AFTER STABBING ANOTHER GUY??? Not once but twice?

The main leads have to scream for help to get other people into action... even though they were happy to inconvenience the leads earlier...

I also disliked the stupidity of Mengmeng's ? death? Why would the bus stop there? why didn't she look both ways before stepping onto a busy highway? The driver doesn't have mirrors so he could see and be like "watch out!"??? and the lack of urgency towards the end?

The ML is visibly suffering after every loop after the halfway point.... The FL disreguards him and keeps pushing him.... Lady he's bleeding from the nose... yall can't take a break for one loop so the man can relax? And not be burned to death, stabbed or be chased by the cops?

Not to mention the hot potato with the bomb near the end? Eveyone was just taking their sweet time telling the truth to each other.... I know its a DRAMA... but damn.

Great Palette Cleanser If You Want A Break From Romantic Genre

There is still a tad of romance in here, it can't be helped. I couldn't enjoy another romance drama because Hidden Love set the bar so high. Found this and thought it would be the perfect palette cleanser. I was worried about how they were going to drag the story into 15 episodes, but after episode 8, I couldn't stop watching and had to finish the rest of the episodes in one sitting. The most frustrating moments for me were the time the police spent interrogating them. Also, they showed the backstory of most of the passengers but not much about He Yun and Shi Qing. I guess one is a game designer, and the other is a college student but what else ? I enjoyed this overall.

Solidly Paced, Binge-Worthy Suspense; Groundhog Day but More Intense + EXPLOSIONS

I'm not sure where the 15 hours went. It's wonderful to see a promising premise executed well via the smart plot and especially the actors. Extra points for the flawless production.

The plot is multifaceted and increasingly layered yet still SOLID. I especially appreciated that the main leads are given respective agency and how they COMPLEMENT one another's strengths and personalities in their attempt to solve the mystery and trying to prevent the explosion(s). Have already added more from Zhao Jing Mai and Bai Jing Ting to my to-watch list.

Even the villains in the story are given proper backstories and I appreciate the fact that they were not justified but still give a very logical (yet tragic) explanation.

One possible critique point for this drama is that I thought the head detective was portrayed in a way that I can only summarize as somewhat misleading. Perhaps I was reading into things but I think that could have been delivered better. However, I realize that perhaps there's a lowkey point being made here about the heroes here having to rely on themselves to dig deeper and investigate in order to solve the problem instead of on the system. If that is the case then it's one I appreciate well.

Definitely a binge-worthy drama through and through - perfect for those looking for a smart time loop story!

Rollercoaster (which has many loops) of emotions

When life gives you another chance, you should be grateful and take it.

We've probably all already seen a show involving a time loop. After sleep or death, one suddenly restarts the day and there is seemingly no way to escape this vicious cycle. Sometimes there is a clear task to achieve and sometimes it just seems random.

This is no new idea but the execution is what counts. And Reset pleasantly surprised me, already hooking me from its first scene.

The main culprit is an explosion on a bus and our protagonists have to relive the same scenes again and again until they obtain the best possible ending. It's like a game with almost infinite possibilities of detective work. We're slowly getting to know each of the passengers on board, each with a unique backstory - many heartbreaking but likeable. Our main characters probe different methods each time and go through many failures over and over but gain one clue after the other. Having acquired enough information, can they use it to resolve the case?

What makes this story are probably the characters. They are in their own special and mostly just ordinary people like you and me making them easy to emphasize with. The everyday conflicts they get into are often saddening to see. The watermelon guy definitely broke and warmed my heart making me spill tears.

As in most of these time loop stories, there is no explanation for the time loop. I wasn't expecting one but seeing such an explanation might have been cool.
I mean, recall what Lu Di said: It's only May and not August - how can there be a time loop?

This is definitely an excellent show and highly recommendable!
