from one low to the next and ironically this…

from one low to the next and ironically this was a great ep - emotionally draining and VERY sad. but death will do that too u - and the isolation, this pandemic and all the craziness it brought down on our heads - even though it isn't behind us now in 2022, it was so much worse at the start and this drama for sure takes u back to dire times... great writing - very heartfelt and true to life. good acting too, Reb was brining it - he for sure is a favorite. as much as i get JM, i like Reb better, cause even though he also has it hard, he still sweet and optimistic - or rather even though he sad, he choses to keep it to himself while putting on a smile for the world, cause he doesn't see the need to make other people miserable, cause that's what he's feeling - and i love these type of people. ***************************************************************************************************** JM on the other hand is miserable and he wants the world to suffer right along side with him, which i get and yet don't like - cause everyone has their own sh*t to deal with, just cause u going through stuff doesn't mean u have the right to take it out on others. maybe cause of that, as much as i feel for him and know he is suffering and vulnerable, even scared to open up. i don't like him much, cause at the first sign of getting hurt he will retreat and hurt Reb - who sadly is all heart and too trusting and hopeful about everything and everyone. so i worry about how he will / is opening his heart ready to go all in on/with JM, while JM might be interested, but he also scared and that won't bode-well in the long run.. or so i fear. *********************************so as much as i love seeing how Reb is getting under JM's skin and pushing him to open up little by little, i worry cause at the same time Reb is also warming towards JM and i know there will come a time, where JM will realize his heart is once again exposed, if he runs scared Reb will be left "bloody and beaten"...

Stuck On You (2021) Episode 4: Bare Naked

Episode 4: Bare Naked had cute and funny scenes as well as dramatic and sad scenes that all the more made this episode a satisfying watch. Of all these scenes, the face reveal scene at the beginning and the hug scene at the end were my favorites. On this episode, I learned more about JM, as he slowly let his guard down, and Reb, as he shared about his life, music, and work. The death of Reb's friend was a relatable reminder of the state of the world we all live in. Script, with a mix of Filipino, English, and Taglish dialogues (just a note, lots of Filipinos with middle to upper class background normally speak this way), had adorable lines ("Have you fallen in love with me yet?," "On your... lap?," "Hug me," "It's okay... you're okay... everything will be okay"). But there were also some controversial statements ("...there's nothing wrong with sex work because it's a legitimate and respectable industry"). Yes, there's nothing wrong with sex work per se, but contextualizing it in Philippine realities, it's certainly an abusive industry borne out of exploiting the poverty of (and therefore, the lack of choices for) most Filipino sex workers. But at least this series doesn't shy away from challenging the demonization of sex work in the country. Acting-wise, Iyo and Yves were consistently solid. Their portrayal of their roles felt quite natural. Production design, cinematography, musical scoring, sound engineering, and editing were all good. The soundtracks "Naghihintay" (Waiting) and "Orasan" (Clock), both by Iktus, enhanced some of the important scenes from this episode. On the whole, this was a wonderful episode.
