It naturally made me want to watch.
After I started the first episode, I was dying over Prince Dingbei’s visuals. It’s so addictive. Every gown that Mingtan and her sister wear is really pretty.
The plot is actually pretty ordinary, but they executed every single piece really well.

The Perfect Match
I followed this drama because of Song Wei Long as the ML. He is so handsome and really play well as the Prince. He is very kingly in appearance and in bearing. The FL is correct in describing him after he get up from bathtub: "His physique is great, his face like a chiseled jake, his every move is perfection..." Super handsome and manly actor and very good in subtle acting. Few words but he can express his mind and heart through looks and actions.I found the FL very beautiful and with refreshing beauty. They are really a perfect match. I love how they tried to tease and seduce each other as husband and wife with boundaries but growing in love for each other. They are both pure and chaste and hesitant to make the first move.
I love the main characters. The ML is a great prince and general but he is not obsessed by power and greed but really focusing on the welfare of the kingdom, eradicating corruption and serving faithfully the Emperor. Despite him having a ruthless reputation he is actually a good person who is loving and caring to his soldiers and to the people in general.
The FL character is so nice. She has innocent beauty which looks young but very intelligent and always reason out. Her love of her father is very deep and is managing the household property with efficiency. It is also noteworthy that she respects people including the maids and the servants with respect.
The love story is very beautiful. It is a match of two noble families and of a young man and woman with both goodness in their hearts. The interchange of politics with tensions due to corruption and power is also very nice. The sword actions by the ML is also excellent. Even the love story of the second leads are very beautiful and touching such as the funny love-hate relationship betweem Mimin and Lord Zhang as well as the touching love between YiYin and Lord Zhu.
The secondary actors too are excellent. The Marquis General father of the FL is so wonderful. The villain Prime Minister is subtle and looks nice but brilliantly cunning. The generals and adviser friends of the ML are great actors too. This is an excellent drama worthy of the status of Song Wei Long. The music is so beautiful and touching. The actions in battles are very good.
I feel sorry for the young and very talented deputy commander whose father was murdered and he died at the end. Glad that he got his justice though. The villain is so cunning and so evil. So happy for the happy ending.

This drama is much better than Everlasting Longing
This drama in terms of plot and acting skills are much much better than Everlasting Longing despite the male lead's character is not as handsome. Both male and female lead are good in acting and looks good. The story plot makes sense too although kind of expected. Nevertheless it is much better than Everlasting Longing drama. The female lead of Everlasting Longing drama is simply hopeless. Was this review helpful to you?
My Thriller-Loving Soul Cried Through Episodes 1–9
Look, I’m dropping this one—not because I’m a hater, but because I’m just not built for full-on romance. Give me mystery, give me thriller, give me a little love on the side, and I’m in. But episodes 1 to 9? Just people talking about marriage like it’s a group project due next week. I couldn’t hang in there.I also have very high expectations for female leads, and unfortunately, this one didn’t hit for me. No offense, but her 3rd sister stole the show. Like… whipping people left and right with boss energy while the FL was still struggling to stand up straight in a light breeze? Yeah, no contest.
As for SWL, maybe it’s just this role, but the acting didn’t pull me in the way I hoped. I might give it another shot if I hear it picks up later—but for now, I’m out. No hard feelings, and no fan wars, okay? 😅

Sister is a nightmare and female lead is annoying, but I actually really enjoyed it
I’ve given this a 7, but it should’ve been much higher because it was actually a really good show from beginning to end. 30 episode approximately 45 minutes each. The male lead really carries the show and I’m sure he is a very popular actor.
The things that annoyed me were the spoilt and entitled female lead who the minute somebody said something about our male lead she immediately switched up on him and doubted him. I didn’t mind this in the beginning because she didn’t know him but halfway through the drama when the chancellor was filling her head with rubbish about the prince she once again doubted him and for me, she surely should’ve known his intentions by now to trust him.
The other annoying trait she had was immediately becoming spoilt and entitled. The moment he spoke to another woman when it seemed to be fine for her to be receiving the attention of several different men without any accountability.
The sister was too much and the fact that she was a willing accomplice in trying to get her sister RAPED made it ridiculous that they kept forgiving her and gave her this weird redemption arc after all of the demented schemes that she did.
Anyway, the story was excellent. The acting was really good. I even enjoyed the side characters and their couples,, including her annoying cousin.
There were a couple of unnecessary time jumps throughout the show, which really didn’t add anything.
The villains were good and we didn’t labour too much on our heroes having their necks stood on for the entirety of the drama. They had some successes and the demise of all the villains was generally satisfying and a good payoff.
I enjoyed the ending because the last episode was completely devoted to happy times after all the villains have been defeated so it wrapped up the drama quite beautifully I think.

Excellent drama
I highly recommend this dramaIgnore the bad comments. It's extremely well presented. The story was good and it's very well edited such that there's no draggy moments
The lead actors and actresses performed really well and I feel both ML and FL have a great chemistry. Unlike many actresses who only have one dimension-same smile same stupid gaze this FL did really well despite her young age, also did Song Wei Long who express well with his eyes
I thoroughly enjoyed the drama. The script was well written and the story didn't try to be some epic-overly arty-trying too hard type drama that's draggy. This drama pitched it just right for 30episodes. Very enjoyable and I looked forward to every single episodes
Well done to the crew and the make up artist didn't slap on white paste good only for the dead. Only one negative is the song lyrics keep covering the subtitles of the conversation+-super annoying

Watch this drama if you want to watch a fun and refreshing drama.
It’s really fun and relaxing watching this drama. The conflict is not really heavy. Bao Shangen and Song Weilong have a perfect chemistry, it’s really nice to watch them together. Also, I highly appreciate the supporting actors. They’re so playful and make the drama much better (especially the girls). For a drama whose budget is not really high, I rate it 9.5 out of 10. For me, the FL and ML acting can be improved a little bit more, because there are scenes that made me feel awkward (this is just a really minor issue, if you are thinking to watch this drama just go for it!! Don't drop it because of this :D). Lastly, I think if this drama has a higher production budget, it will be a hit! I recommend this drama if you want a cute and fun drama without needing to use your brain. Was this review helpful to you?
Terrible acting and Directing
I don't like rating dramas that i dropped before 30-50% but this was god awful and i give it a -10. between and the glory(C-drama) i don't know which is worse. The acting is bad , the chemistry is awful, the male lead looks so uncomfortably constipated and the Female lead does not make it better. It seems like they are reading their lines from a prompter and someone is telling them how to act. The cherry on top was The director/producer with those god awful zoom PLEASE GIVE IT A REST.Was this review helpful to you?
