Shao Cang leaves Yangyue Sect, taking Yin Ya along as he believes Yin Ya was the one who tipped off Zhu Sui. He cannot allow such a devious person near Nan Yan. Yin Ya schemed to make use of the Great Path Sect to get Ji Yang kicked out of the Yangyue Sect so as to allow him the chance to steal Nan Yan's mermaid bead. Meanwhile, Nan Ya and Mu Zhan Ting prepare mid-autumn goodies for Nan Yan's mother. The next morning, the two friends arrive at Nan Yan's home but find it empty. At this time, Chief Meng happens to pass by with incense offerings. He stammers when Nan Yan asks him about her mom's whereabouts and finally tells Nan Yan that her mom has passed on. Nan Yan is devastated and cries sadly for her loss. Feeling her sorrow, Shao Cang goes to console Nan Yan. Her mom had wished to go travelling, but she did not allow it for fear of her heart condition. She now regrets it and hopes her mom did not blame her. Before parting, Nan Yan takes off her mermaid bead and gives it to Shao Cang to help him avoid the atrocious demon Yin Zhu in Filth Valley. Nan Yan returns home and tells her master that she will enter the Filth Valley on its opening day to look for the Snow Branch to make the Five-Poison Heart Pill for Shao Cang. Meanwhile, Li Chi, Chief of the Evil Path Sect, visits the badly injured Die Wan. She's the only person who has encountered Yin Zhu and survived. The sect master kills Die Wan to get her inner core with Yin Zhu's aura to refine it into the demonic pill. (Source: AnastasiaWun at MyDramaList)
