Overcooked and Charred
With the star-crossed lover theme, there’s absolutely nil possibility to go wrong...... as long as the feelings are conveyed correctly, a seven-plus rating is an easy target. What comes later is for the casted team, the styling, the music, and the fillr plots to achieve.In my opinion, the story started off good. The first half of part one was dedicated to a soft romance blooming between a god and his attendant, which later turned into a trope of one-sided sacrifices on the attendant’s part. Then, in contrast, the second half comes with a little fluff; characters are less rigid now that they’re in the mortal world, not bound by heavenly rules. The ML, who was one of the most stubborn and pessimisstic MLs to ever exist on screen, starts behaving human , ... he addresses his feelings and sets his priorities right. The FL, who sacrificed everything to the point of mental and physical assault on herself, is now following her dreams . Sure, it was short-lived, but it was the only segment I actually liked in this entire series. Look, I’m fine with the saving-the-world thing, but I’m not a fan of her noble sacrifice , especially when it ended up hitting her in the face.
Yang Zi was amazing as ever; in fact, I liked her better in this drama becaause she mostly plays serious roles, and this one felt a little different, a little refreshing. Cheng Yi was a surprize package since I’d never watched any of his dramas before. I liked his acting and his appearance ... yeah, this man deserves the praise he gets.💕💕💕
Styling was good. Special effects were on point, fitting the era it was shot in (not judging it by 2026 standards).
But the dragggggggggg (so many gs,)which continues in part two as well .. killed the joy for me. The story could have been manuevered better, but the writer kept it entangled in unnecessary melodrama and mis understandings. I firmly believe that this type of nonsense shows a creator’s limited imagination. So… yeah, I’m not impressed.
Still, I won’t make any harsh statements, because this show has its own fanbase. So yes, there are people who liked it as their favorite drama, but it just couldn’t appeal to me the same way.

The Best of the Best
This is one of the best drama sincevThousand miles of preach blosslm.Overall. Cusumes, acting. Casts, story, visual and everything are pergect. Im 60 years old who enjoys super natural drama.
I like Chinese mysttcal story. Only one thing this story is stupid prohibit Gos to falls in love. And would ne killed if one falls in love.
The chinese drama is the same story line as Ten Thousand Mikes of Preach Blossoms. Most chinese writer copied storyies.
I think is is all the same.

Obsessed!!
Storyline is very heart wrenching and emotional, but the moments are very beautiful. Both the leads are beautiful and acting is too good. Their teary eyes express very realistic emotions and heart-breaking. If looking for a new Xianxia drama to watch, please give this a try! Romance is good and not slow paced, it is mutual. The costumes are very beautiful on the female and male lead.You know what I mean if you look at the photos. The producer has many hit historical dramas and this is definitely one of them. beautiful story
I love Xianxia dramas and this one is no different. I recommend if you like a drama like Ashes of Love or Eternal Love. The setting and storyline is very similar. There are a lots of sad moments between the two main leads and the evil characters are so vicious that you will want to slap them. It is a beautiful story about tragic love between two immortals who are not allowed to fall in love. The drama always leaves me with tears after watching every episode. One of the most deepest and heartbreaking Xianxia I have ever watched. I think this love story is more heart wrenching than Ashes of Love.Was this review helpful to you?

With these words uttered during the opening scene of the first episode, the wuxia seemed set to weave a heart wrenching tale. After the various twists and turns, the last episode ended with the same melancholic tone pulling me towards Part 2 in hopes of finding a happily every after ending.After having been blown away by Ten Miles of Peach Blossom, I can’t help but compare and wonder if I was overly generous with that drama’s rating because I was a newbie to wuxia back then.
Although this story had the usual jealousy and misunderstandings, it also had some unique elements and this drama was pretty decent overall. I loved the imagination of how the different realms looked along with the gorgeous costumes and headpieces. What it fell short of was logic (when someone is falling down, the clothes should flow upwards) and some messy wire work with landings and lift offs of the respective characters.
Kudos to the actress who played one of the villains. It is to her credit that I despised her and constantly wished she would get killed off. While the FL’s chirpy character reminded me of her other work in Ashes of Love, I am glad she showed better depth of love and sadness here. The ML as a deity was very similar to his other cool and serious self in Love and Redemption so it was good to see him be more expressive when he was a human in the Mortal Realm.

Started eh but got much better
So in the very beginning I just was bored and wasn’t sure I would keep watching. But all the actors are so good so I stuck with it. Prob around the maybe episode 7-9 the story picked up a lot. The actors have drastically improved throughout their career and this show being some of their finest work.The ost did grow on me. I think when those emotional moments come up and they play the ost in the background is when it begins to imprint. I do hope it maintains this to the end. But least get to episode 7-10 before dropping

Another thing I love is the different costumes they have now. If you've been watching xianxia dramas, you will know that they rarely change their attires, but this is different, I'm in episode 14 and the female lead has changed her attire like 5 times now so I'm very happy about that too.
I had to stop at 14 although I've downloaded up to 18. The reason being that I'm too hooked and other episodes have not come out yet so I will wait till other episodes drop then I will continue watching.
A wonderful drama, I will highly recommend it to anyone

Beautiful story!
First, I had no idea this even aired as it came out of nowhere, despite their being a lot of rumored dates. I am so addicted to this drama. The main leads have great chemistry and you can feel the realistic emotion shown by both of them. CGI is really good and I don't know why some people were complaining about. The scenes looked very beautiful and creative. I feel like it's classic Xianxia CGI. I would recommend if you like Eternal Love, Love and Redemption or Ancient love Poetry. The storyline can be seen to be filled with laughter and sadness. I think the mixture of both is done very well, definitely suspenseful. It starts off more light and comedy, but from what I can see, it gets really deep and emotionally. If you like Xianxia, give it a try!Was this review helpful to you?

Give this try a watch if you like Xianxia, The actors are too pretty and portray their character well, CGI is very good, similar to Love and Redemption(same producer), lots of sad scenes, comedy scenes are there as well, gives angst vibes, look to have misunderstandings, also love triangle (maybe second lead syndrome?), worth watching even if you read the novel (lots of changes to script!), music is also good, especially the sad song melody that plays during the emotional and sad scenesWas this review helpful to you?

i really wanted to like this
despite the ML and FL's great acting and the excellently crafted trailers, i do not see anything good about this drama. i watched the trailers and the official mv straight after they were released and was extremely excited initially and having waited more than a year for the drama, i think it's highly disappointing.i am a big fan of yang zi and a general drama fan of cheng yi and let me make this clear THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE ACTING AT ALL - i thought the acting was great. hence why they cut some good scenes for the trailers, which attracted a lot of anticipation from viewers - i was attracted too to the trailers.
but the outcome of the drama is really quite boring to me. i did not have the feeling of wanting to watch one episode after another and basically tried to force myself to keep going because i really did like the cast and trailers. but after 10 episodes, i really don't think i can force myself any longer into this.
the story is more than generic for a xianxia drama, i see so many aspects from several dramas. i just hate how i know exactly what will happen each time because everything is so generic. the character of the FL is also so annoying to me - it's like xianxia dramas cannot have a FL with a brain (i feel very sorry that yang zi has to act like someone like that every time). and the fact that the sister HAD to turn bad like that was so expected and it's like this happens in every drama? i really hoped that they would've done something different with zixi's character but unfortunately not.
i also found the "not being able to fall in love" part very confusing? how come there is this strict rule but 1) girls publicly talk about how they lowkey have a crush on yingyuan to each other 2) they even write it on the wish sticks (lol idk what they're called sorry) and 3) that library dude keeps joking about finding love and even seducing yingyuan? like? it just confuses me.
the music was alright but nothing special + i felt nothing listening to it because of how dry the story was. even the actors' great acting seemed to be dim under the basic plot.
i really hoped that i would eventually like this but i simply don't have the energy to watch on anymore. in conclusion, i did not like this and i felt no emotions watching this.
